Vanilluxe -- BREAKthrough Pokemon Card Review

Vanilluxe BREAKthrough Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Vanilluxe from the BREAKthrough Pokemon Card Set.  Vanilluxe is a stage 2, water type Pokemon card, with an hp of 130.  It has a x2 weakness to metal type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Vanilluxe does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Frigid Breath, for two energy cards, one each of water and colorless, this move does 30 damage, plus it makes it so that neither player can use any Supporter or Stadium cards until the end of your next turn.  Deep Freeze is Vanilluxe's second move and for three energy cards, two colorless and one water, this move does 70 damage, plus it paralyzes the defending Pokemon if you get a heads when flipping a coin or confuses it if you get a tails when flipping a coin.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Vanilluxe is a stage 2 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Vanillite into play and then evolve it into Vanillish before you can evolve Vanillish into Vanilluxe, both of those Pokemon are from this set and I've reviewed both of them the last two days.  If you've read my reviews of those cards you'll know that I thought both Vanillite and Vanillish were below average Basic Pokemon cards, both were decent move wise, but both had really low HP and would be an easy knockout later in games.  So knowing this about the first two Pokemon in this line and looking at this Vanilluxe card, on its own, this isn't a bad card, both of its moves are usable, with how heavily Supporter cards are used in the metagame, Frigid Breath may really ruin your opponent's strategy, and Deep Freeze not only does above average damage but inflicts a special condition as well.  The only downside on this card is that it is a Stage 2 Pokemon card so it is slow to set up and neither of the forms before Vanilluxe are very good.  So unless you really like Vanilluxe, I would probably look elsewhere when building a water type deck, at most I would use a 1-1-1 line of this family.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is an average to slightly above average Stage 2 Pokemon card from the BREAKthrough set.  There is really nothing that I dislike on this card, both moves do above average damage or at least do more than just attack, both moves are fairly quick, and unlike Vanillite and Vanillish, this card has a good HP.  However, because the two Pokemon I just mentioned are below average, I can't give this entire line more than a 2 out of 5 rating, it is best not to include this line in a deck.
