Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Braixen from the BREAKthrough Pokemon Card set. Braixen is a stage 1, fire type Pokemon card, with an hp of 80. It has a x2 weakness to water type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost. Braixen does not have an Ability or an Ancient Trait and it only has one move. The only move that this card has is called Flamethrower, for three energy cards, two colorless and one fire, this move does 70 damage however you must discard an energy card attached to Braixen after using.
Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Braixen is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Fennekin into play (I reviewed Fennekin from this set yesterday) and then evolve Fennekin into Braixen. Braixen does have a Stage 2 evolution in Delphox, however there is not a Delphox in this set, you'll have to use the one from the XY set that I've reviewed previously on my blog. The strategy now will only consider the first two cards in this line. If you read my review of Fennekin you'll know that I thought it was a below average Basic Pokemon card, the card actually could do a fair amount of damage for two energy cards, but the move was based off of a coin flip and Fennekin had a low HP. So knowing this about Fennekin and looking at this Braixen card, I cannot recommend using either card in a deck, the main reason being both Pokemon have below average HP and both cards are slow on the attack. Flamethrower does do above average damage but you're either going to have to use Burning Energy with Braixen to prevent discarding or have to add energy cards to Braixen each turn. So I cannot recommend using this line in a deck.
Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating. In my opinion this is a below average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the BREAKthrough set. Besides having a move that does slightly above average damage, this card really isn't that great, it has a low HP, and only one move that is slow on the attack. There are much better lines out there to use in a fire type deck and I can only give these two Pokemon, Fennekin and Braixen a 2 out of 5 rating.

True. This is the only English expansion to include a Braixen card and not a Delphox card in the same set. The only other expansion they've appeared in was XY (25/146 and 26/146).
This has been the twenty-sixth card from the BREAKthrough expansion. For all of this expansion, you've not announced any winners. Are you trying to waste our time? Because if that is the case, that is truly unacceptable.
