Swoobat -- BREAKthrough Pokemon Card Review

Swoobat BREAKthrough Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Swoobat from the BREAKthrough Pokemon Card Set.  Swoobat is a stage 1, psychic type Pokemon card, with an hp of 90. It has a x2 weakness to lightning type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to fighting type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Swoobat does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Wave Amplifications and for one colorless energy card this move increases Swoobat's Returning Echo move's damage by 60 during Swoobat's next turn.  Swoobat's second move is called Returning Echo and for one psychic energy card it does 60 damage, however when using this move you must flip a coin, if tails, you must return Swoobat and all cards attached to it back to your hand.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Swoobat is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Woobat into play (I reviewed Woobat from this set yesterday) and then evolve Woobat into Swoobat.  If you read yesterday's review of Woobat, you'll know that I thought that card was a slightly below average Basic Pokemon card, there really wasn't anything below average on the card but since it could only do 10 damage maximum it was just very limited.  So knowing this about Woobat and looking at this Swoobat card, the best way to utilize these two cards would be to use a 1-1 line in a psychic type deck, get Woobat into the active Pokemon to start the game, do 10 damage the first turn, then evolve Woobat into Swoobat, use Wave Amplication first, then Returning Echo the second turn, of course if you can knock out the defending Pokemon by doing 60 damage, don't use Wave Amplification at all.  The reason you should use Wave Amplication first instead of using Returning Echo back to back, is the fact Returning Echo may make you remove Swoobat from the active Pokemon spot and then not be able to do that 60 damage the second turn.  Because of this coin flip on Returning Echo, I would have a hard time using this line a deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is an average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the BREAKthrough set.  I like the fact that this card can do major damage for only one energy card and the fact it has a solid HP and a low retreat cost.  Like I mentioned above, the thing holding this card back is that Returning Echo has the potential to move Swoobat back into your hand which makes this card very slow after using it the one time.  So together with Woobat from this set, which I gave a 2 rating, the entire family gets a 3 out of 5 rating, nothing wrong at all with using these two cards in your psychic type deck.

False. This is not the first Swoobat card that you've reviewed on your blog. You've reviewed it twice previously, in Emerging Powers and Boundaries Crossed.
