Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Beheeyem from the BREAKthrough Pokemon Card Set. Beheeyem is a stage 1, psychic type Pokemon card, with an hp of 90. It has a x2 weakness to psychic type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost. Beheeyem does not have an Ability but it does have two moves. The first move that this card has is called Mind Bullet, for one psychic energy card this move does 20 damage to one of your benched Pokemon times the number of energy attached to that Pokemon. Beheeyem's second move is called Psybeam, for two psychic energy cards, this move does 50 damage, plus it confuses the defending Pokemon.
Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Beheeyem is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Elgyem into play (I reviewed Elgyem from this set yesterday) and then evolve Elgyem into Beheeyem. If you read yesterday's review of Elgyem, you'll know that I thought that card was a below average Basic Pokemon card. I liked the fact that it could do up to 40 damage in two turns for only one energy card, but later in games with only 50 HP, it wouldn't be so great. So knowing this about Elgyem and looking at Beheeyem, I like that this card is just as quick on the attack as Beheeyem, so you could start attacking with this card just a turn into the game. What I would more than likely do is just keep this card on the bench, and use it to prevent your opponent from setting up their benched Pokemon, that way, if they do, you can move Beheeyem into the active Pokemon spot and use Mind Bullet on that Pokemon. Psybeam is a strong move as well, but of course Mind Bullet has the potential to do more damage. So this card would work well in either a psychic type deck or a spread attack deck.
Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 5 out of 5 rating. In my opinion, this is a very good Stage 1 Pokemon card from the BREAKthrough set, and a card that can really wreak havoc on an opponent's benched Pokemon. There is really nothing to complain about with this card, it has two great moves, one that attacks benched Pokemon and the other that inflicts a special condition in addition to doing a good amount of damage. So if you're building a psychic type deck, definitely give the line of Elgyem and Beheeyem a look, together I give the cards a 4 out of 5 rating.
