Banette 32/108 -- Roaring Skies Pokemon Card Review

Banette Roaring Skie Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Banette from the Roaring Skies Pokemon Card Set.  This is the second of two Banette cards I've reviewed from this set.  Banette is a stage 1, psychic type Pokemon card, with an hp of 90.  It has a x2 weakness to darkness type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to fighting type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  This Banette card has an Ancient Trait called Evolution that says you may play Banette immediately after putting Shuppet into play, you do not have to wait a turn.  Besides the Ancient Trait, Banette has two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Evolution Jammer, this move requires one psychic energy card to use and does 20 damage, plus it makes your opponent unable to evolve any of their Pokemon during their next turn.  Banette's second move is called Curse Deeply, this move requires two energy  cards to use, one each of psychic and colorless and allows you to put 5 damage counters on your opponent's Pokemon in any way that you'd like.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Banette is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Shuppet into play (I reviewed Shuppet from this set two days ago) and then evolve Shuppet into Banette, there are actually two Banette cards from this set, and I will compare both cards at the end of this section.  If you read my review of Shuppet you'll know that I thought it was a very poor Basic Pokemon card, not only was it limited in only having one move, but the only move it did have may not even do anything at all if the opponent isn't using any special energy cards and the move does not do any damage.  So knowing this about Shuppet and looking at this Banette card, Banette's Ancient Trait works perfect with how poor Shuppet is, as long as you have both Shuppet and Banette in your hand, you can play them both at once and never have to use Shuppet on its own.  This Banette card would work perfectly in a spread damage type deck, you could set it up on the bench, put two energy cards on it, then when multiple Pokemon of your opponent's have significant amount of damage on them, you can move Banette to the active Pokemon spot and knock out several at once.  I would highly recommend using a 1-1 line of Shuppet and Banette in a spread damage type deck.  Compared with the other Banette card from this set, there is no comparison, this card is much better!

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is an above average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Roaring Skies set.  There isn't anything that I dislike about this card, it has an average HP, a good Ancient Trait that removes the need to worry about Shuppet, and two good moves, both quick and both doing good damage.  Combined with Shuppet from this set, which I gave a 1 out of 5 rating, they get a 3 out of 5 rating, definitely use this line in a spread damage type deck.
