Gallade EX -- Roaring Skies Pokemon Card Review

Pokemon Card Overview:

Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Gallade EX and Gallade EX Full Art from the Roaring Skies Pokemon Card Set.  Gallade EX is a basic, EX, psychic type Pokemon card with an hp of 170. It has a x2 weakness to psychic type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Gallade EX does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Swift Lunge, for two energy cards, one each of psychic and colorless, this move does 30 damage plus you may have your opponent switch their active Pokemon with one of their benched Pokemon.  Gallade's second move is called Piercing Prizes, this move requires three psychic energy cards to use, and does 50 damage plus 20 more damage for each of your remaining prize cards.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, because Gallade EX is a basic Pokemon card you won't need to use any other cards with this card.  But remember, because this card is an EX card, if this card is knocked out, two prize cards are taken instead of one.  However, Gallade does have a mega evolution you could use from this set and I will be reviewing that card tomorrow, so this strategy below will act like Gallade EX does not have an evolution.  So knowing this, on its own, this card could definitely be used in a deck with two different strategies.  You could use this card in a spread damage type deck and mainly use Swift Lunge with this card having your opponent switch their active Pokemon every turn, then later on, either use a card that does major damage to one of your benched Pokemon or use a card that does 10 or 20 damage to each of your opponent's benched Pokemon to knock out several at once.  The other type of strategy you would want to use with this card is to get it into the active Pokemon spot right away to start the game, get three energy cards on it and then do major damage every turn with Piercing Prizes, the more Prize cards you have left the better, that is why it would be best to start the game with this card in the active Pokemon spot because then you'll have all of your prize cards.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an average EX Pokemon card from the Roaring Skies set.  I really have no complaints with this card, it just isn't anything that extraordinary but a solid card that could be used in any psychic type deck out there.  It has a good HP, and two moves that both involve different strategies, neither however consistently being able to do major damage every single turn.  I would consider using 1 of these in a deck.
