Thundurus EX Full Art -- Roaring Skies Pokemon Card Review

Pokemon Card Overview:

Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Thundurus EX and Thundurus EX Full Art from the Roaring Skies Pokemon Card Set.  Thundurus EX is a basic, EX, lightning type Pokemon card with an hp of 170. It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to metal type Pokemon, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Thundurus does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Headlock, for two energy cards, one each of lightning and colorless, this move does 30 damage plus 30 more damage if you get a heads when flipping a coin, or if you get a tails when flipping a coin, the move does 30 damage plus the defending Pokemon is paralyzed.  Thundurus' second move is called Voltage Rush, this move requires three lightning type energy cards to use and does 150 damage, however after using this move, Thundurus does 50 damage to itself.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, because Thundurus EX is a basic Pokemon card you won't need to use any other cards with this card.  But remember, because this card is an EX card, if this card is knocked out, two prize cards are taken instead of one.  So knowing this about Thundurus EX, I could see using one of these cards in a lightning type deck if you're looking for some power.  If you do use this card in your deck, make sure to have either several Potion cards or a Pokemon that heals damage from your other Pokemon, because ideally with this Thundurus card you'll want to use Voltage Rush most turns and knock out Pokemon in one turn or less.  The only time I would recommend using Headlock is if you only have two energy cards on Thundurus, 50 damage will knock Thundurus out, the defending Pokemon will be knocked out by 30 damage, or you want to try and prevent the defending Pokemon from attacking.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is a very solid EX Pokemon card from the Roaring Skies set that I would definitely recommend considering for a deck.  My only complaint on this card is that the HP is a little low, especially when you could be doing 50 damage a turn to it, but overall, this card is very powerful and pretty quick on the attack as well, and would add some greatly needed power to a lightning type deck.
