Lilligant -- Guardians Rising Pokemon Card Review

Lilligant Guardians Rising Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Lilligant from the Guardians Rising Pokemon Card Set.  Lilligant is a Stage 1, Grass type Pokemon card, with a HP of 90. It has a x2 weakness to Fire type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one Colorless Energy card retreat cost.  Lilligant does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  This card's first move is called Petal Blizzard, for one Colorless Energy card this move does 10 damage to each of your opponent's Pokemon.  Lilligant's second move is called Petal Dance, for two Energy cards, one each of Grass and Colorless, this move does 40 damage times the number of heads you get when you flip 3 coins, but unfortunately the move also Confuses Lilligant.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Lilligant is a Stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Lilligant into play (I reviewed Petilil from this set yesterday) and then evolve Petilil into Lilligant.  If you read yesterday's review of Petilil, you'll know that I thought it was a below average Basic Pokemon card overall.  The main negative on the card was its low HP, other than that, the card could do 10 damage for one Energy card, plus it could heal itself, so if you have to put Petilil into the Active Pokemon spot for one turn, it wouldn't be too bad, but you definitely wouldn't want it in the Active Pokemon spot later in games.  The best thing to do with this line is to set it up on the Bench, or get Lilligant into the Active Pokemon spot the second turn of the game, and then using Petal Blizzard every turn.  Although Petal Dance can do up to 120 damage per turn, I would much rather use this line in a spread attack type deck, doing 10 damage to all of your opponent's Pokemon every single turn, then potentially putting a Pokemon into play that can do major damage to a Pokemon of your choosing and knocking out Pokemon every single turn.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an above average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Guardians Rising set.  This is a perfect card to use in a spread attack type deck, it can attack very quickly and do a good amount of damage total per turn.  Even if this card didn't have Petal Dance, I would still give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  Together with Petilil from this set, I would give the two cards a 3 out of 5 rating, again, if you're building a spread attack type deck, I would highly recommend using this line.

Lilligant -- BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Review

Lilligant BREAKpoint Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Lilligant from the BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Set.  Lilligant is a stage 1, grass type Pokemon card, with an hp of 80. It has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Lilligant does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Boo-Hoo, for one grass energy card this move does 20 damage, plus it puts the defending Pokemon to sleep if an energy card is attached to it during your opponent's next turn.  Lilligant's second move is called Leaf Slice, and for two colorless energy cards this move does 30 damage times the number of heads you get when you flip two coins.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Lilligant is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Petilil into play (I reviewed Petilil from this set yesterday) and then evolve Petilil into Lilligant.  If you read yesterday's review of Petilil, you'll know that I thought it was a below average Basic Pokemon card on its own, mainly because it had a below average HP and couldn't do any damage when attacking, it could only heal 10 damage from each of your own Pokemon.  So knowing this about Petilil and looking at this Lilligant card, this card also has a low HP, but can actually do damage when attacking.  I am intrigued by Lilligant's move Boo-Hoo, if you can get Lilligant into the active Pokemon spot very early in the game, you only need one energy card to do 20 damage a turn plus it will prevent your opponent from setting up their active Pokemon without putting it to sleep and make them unable to attack, giving you more time to set up your bench.  I am not a huge fan of Leaf Slice since it is a coin flip based move, but if you hit two heads in a row, 60 damage for two energy cards is above average.  This line isn't that great overall, but I could see using a 1-1 line of this Pokemon family in a deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an average to slightly below average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the BREAKpoint set, a card that I would highly recommend if it had a higher HP.  I like that this card has two moves, both are quick attacking, and both either do above average damage or extra, like inflict special conditions.  If you're looking for a good card to use early in a game, this card is one you should look at it.  Together with Petilil from this set, I would give the two cards a 3 out of 5 rating.

Lilligant -- Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card Review

Lilligant Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Lilligant from the Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card Set.  Lilligant is a stage 1, grass type Pokemon card, with an hp of 80.  It has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to water type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Lilligant does not have an Ability but it does have two moves, its first move is called Return, this move requires one colorless energy card and does 20 damage and allows you to draw cards until you have 6 cards in your hand.  Lilligant's second move is called Magical Leaf and for three energy cards, two colorless and one grass, this move does 50 damage plus 30 more damage and heals 30 damage from Lilligant if you get a heads when you flip a coin.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Lilligant is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Petilil into play (I reviewed Petilil from this set yesterday) and then evolve Petilil into Lilligant.  If you read yesterday's review, I would only recommend using Petilil on its own or moving it into the active Pokemon spot right away if you can get it in the active Pokemon spot immediately at the start of the game or you have many other Pokemon in your deck that can inflict special conditions.  I would suggest getting Lilligant on your bench, attaching three energy cards to it and then moving it into the active Pokemon spot at an appropriate time.  If you have three energy cards on Lilligant I would suggest using Magical Leaf every turn, it is a below average move normally, but if you get a heads every other turn the move is actually quite good.  You may want to put a lot of stage 2 Pokemon in your deck so that you can always be evolving Pokemon and never have very many Pokemon cards in your hand, that way you could actually benefit by using Return to replenish your hand and do 20 damage.  But like I said, I would stick with Magical Leaf unless you don't have enough energy cards attached to Lilligant to use it.  I would use a 2-1 or 1-1 line of Petilil and Lilligant in a partly grass type deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, I think Lilligant is a pretty average stage 1 Pokemon card.  The only two things I don't really like about the card are its hp which is too low, and Magical Leaf which does 50 damage instead of the normal 60 damage for three energy cards, but if you do get some Magic and flip a heads this move is actually quite good and an above average move.  I also like that this card has a low retreat cost and the fact it does have two moves, the quick move and another move that takes a bit more time to setup.  So overall, both Pokemon in this line are average cards in this set, so obviously overall the Pokemon line gets a 3 out of 5 rating.  This line doesn't have to be a staple in every grass type deck but it could be a role player type line and help your deck some, but you won't miss it too much if you're not using it.

Lilligant -- Emerging Powers Pokemon Card Review

Lilligant Emerging Powers Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Lilligant from the Emerging Powers Pokemon Card Set.  Lilligant is a stage 1, grass type Pokemon card, with an hp of 90.  It has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to water type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Lilligant doesn't have an Ability, but it does have two moves, the first move is called Bemusing Aroma and for one grass energy card it does 20 damage, and if you get a heads when you flip a coin the defending Pokemon is paralyzed and poisoned, and if you get a tails, the defending Pokemon is confused.  Lilligant's other move is called Cut and for three energy cards, two colorless and one grass, does 60 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since this card can inflict up to three different special conditions I would pair this card with other Pokemon cards that can inflict special conditions, that way no matter what Pokemon I would play from my deck I would be able to affect my opponent's Pokemon every turn even when I'm not attacking.  So what I would try and do with this card is find a way to retreat this card out of the active Pokemon spot for free, that way I could use Bemusing Aroma one turn, inflict a special condition and do some damage then the next turn retreat Lilligant and attack with another Pokemon.  If you have time to set up Lilligant on the bench I would recommend putting three energy cards on it so you can use Cut often and knock out most Pokemon in two turns or less.  I would use a 2-1 or 2-2 line of Petilil and Lilligant in a grass type deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is a very solid stage 1 Pokemon card, it has a good hp, low retreat cost, and two good moves.  Cut does average damage for an average attack cost, but it still does 60 damage which is quite a bit, then Bemusing Aroma inflicts up to two special conditions at a time and does damage.  Because of these things I'm giving Lilligant an above average rating.
