Aegislash EX -- Phantom Forces Pokemon Card Review

Aegislash Phantom Forces Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Aegislash EX from the Phantom Forces Pokemon Card Set.  Aegislash EX is a basic, EX, metal type Pokemon card with an hp of 170. It has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to psychic type Pokemon, and a three colorless energy card retreat cost.  Aegislash's Ability is called Mighty Shield and this ability prevents of all done from your opponent's attacks if they are using special energy cards for their attacks.  Besides the Ability, Aegislash just has one move called Slash Blast, this move requires three colorless energy cards and does 40 damage plus 20 more damage for each metal energy attached to Aegislash.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, because Aegislash EX is a basic Pokemon card you won't need to use any other cards with this card.  But remember, because this card is an EX card, if this card is knocked out, two prize cards are taken instead of one.  So knowing this about Aegislash EX, you could definitely use one of these cards in any type deck just for its Ability.  Even though Slash Blast would only do 40 damage without any metal energy cards, you could give yourself plenty of time to set up the rest of your Pokemon if the opponent cannot use a Special energy card to attack.  However, if you do want to use this EX card in your deck, it would be much better if you attached metal energy cards to it so placing it in a metal type deck would be your best strategy.  That way you could do 100 damage a turn if you attached 3 metal energy cards to it.  So, if you want to use this card in a deck, try to use it in a mostly metal type deck and attach only metal energy cards to it, then the earlier you get this card into the active Pokemon spot the better, not only will it do 100 damage a turn, but if your opponent is using mostly Special energy cards in their deck, they won't be able to attack at all, which will give Aegislash free reign on your opponent's Pokemon.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an average EX Pokemon card from the Phantom Forces set, even though I am giving it an average rating, it has the potential to be well above average if you use it exclusively in a metal type deck and your opponent uses mostly Special energy cards.  The probably of those two things happening is unlikely so that is why I am giving this card an average rating, there are definitely better EX cards to use out there, but this one isn't too bad.
