Vanillish -- Guardians Rising Pokemon Card Review

Vanillish Guardians Rising Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Vanillish from the Guardians Rising Pokemon Card set.  Vanillish is a Stage 1, Water type Pokemon card, with a HP of 80.  It has a x2 weakness to Metal type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two Colorless Energy card retreat cost.  Vanillish does not have an Ability and it only has one move called Ice Shard, for one Water Energy card this move does 30 damage plus 30 more damage if the defending Pokemon is a Fighting type Pokemon.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Vanillish is a Stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Vanillite into play (I reviewed Vanillite from this set yesterday) and then evolve Vanillite into Vanillish.  Vanillite does have a Stage 2 evolution in Vanilluxe, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, that you'll probably want to use with this Pokemon line but since I haven't reviewed that card yet, the strategy below will act like Vanillish is the final evolution in this line.  So if you read my review of Vanillite, you'll know that I thought that card was a below average Basic Pokemon card overall.  The card was pretty limited in what it could do, having a low HP, and only one move.  The one move the card did have could do up to 30 damage per turn, but it also is based off of coin flips, so the move may end up doing no damage at all.  So knowing this about Vanillite and looking at this Vanillish card, this card is very similar in that it has a below average HP, only move one, and its only move has potential to do major damage but in Vanillish's case, only against Fighting type Pokemon.  Because both cards in this line so far are limited in what they can do and have below average HP, I would recommend either not using this line at all in a deck, or keep the entire line on the Bench until you're able to evolve to Vanilluxe.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a below average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Guardians Rising set.  Similarly to Vanillite from yesterday, this card is below average overall.  Against Fighting type Pokemon, this card can do 60 damage for one Energy card, which is excellent, but against other Pokemon, this card is just too limited.  Together with Vanillite from this set, I would give the two Pokemon in this line a 1 out of 5 rating, look elsewhere for Pokemon to use in your deck.

Vanillish -- BREAKthrough Pokemon Card Review

Vanillish BREAKthrough Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Vanillish from the BREAKthrough Pokemon Card set.  Vanillish is a stage 1, water type Pokemon card, with an hp of 70.  It has a x2 weakness to metal type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Vanillish does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Ice Edge, for one water energy card this move does 10 damage plus 30 more damage if you get a heads when flipping a coin.  Vanillish's second move is called Icy Wind and for two water energy cards this move does 30 damage, plus it puts the defending Pokemon to sleep.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Vanillish is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Vanillite into play (I reviewed Vanillite from this set yesterday) and then evolve Vanillite into Vanillish.  Vanillish does have a Stage 2 evolution in Vanilluxe, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, that you'll probably want to use with this Pokemon line but since I haven't reviewed that card yet, the strategy below will act like Vanillish is the final evolution in this line.  So if you read my review of Vanillite, you'll know that I thought that card was a below average Basic Pokemon card, it did have two moves and could do up to 20 damage a turn, but the card itself had a low HP and it required two energy cards to do damage.  So knowing this about Vanillite and looking at this Vanillish card, this card is similar in that it does a fair amount of damage but it has a low HP.  So unless you don't mind having two cards in your deck with low HP, I would not use this line in a deck.  However, just like Vanillite, if you are going to use this entire line, Vanillish wouldn't be terrible to have in the active Pokemon spot since it can attack quickly and potentially put the defending Pokemon to sleep.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a below average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the BREAKthrough set, one that would be average if it had 90 HP instead of only 70 since this card does have two good moves and both moves not only do a fair amount of damage but are quick to use.  Together, Vanillite and Vanillish from this set get a 2 out of 5 rating from me.

Vanillish -- Plasma Freeze Pokemon Card Review

Vanillish Plasma Freeze Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Vanillish from the Plasma Freeze Pokemon Card Set.  Vanillish is a stage 1, water type Pokemon card, with an hp of 80.  It has a x2 weakness to metal type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Vanillish does not have an Ability and it only has one move.  The only move that this card has is called Surefire Spin, this move requires two colorless energy cards and does 20 damage plus if you get two heads when flipping two coins this move will do 60 damage total instead of only 20.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Vanillish is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Vanillite into play (I reviewed Vanillite from this set yesterday) and then evolve Vanillite into Vanillish.  Vanillite does have a stage 2 evolution in Vanilluxe that you'll probably want to use with this Pokemon line but since I haven't reviewed that card yet, the strategy below will act like Vanillish is the final evolution in this line.  So if you read yesterday's review, you'll know that I thought Vanillite was an average card that could or could not be used in a deck and it wouldn't make that much of a difference.  After summarizing this Vanillish card in the overview part of this post, I would stick with that same strategy about Vanillite and not use Vanillish at all.  So I would not recommend using a Vanillish in your deck.  If you choose to, you can move Vanillite into the active Pokemon spot whenever it has two energy cards on it and then when you get Vanillish in your hand evolve Vanillite into Vanillish and then use Surefire Spin every turn.  I would not use more than a 1-1 line of Vanillite and Vanillish in a deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a below average stage 1 Pokemon card. Even though this card has the potential to do 60 damage per turn for only two energy cards, I'm giving this card a below average rating because Surefire Spin more than likely will only do 20 damage per turn, and since Vanillish has 80 hp, which is below average, it won't last long in the active Pokemon spot once you get it there.  So overall, Vanillite and Vanillish from this set will get a 2 out of 5 rating.

Vanillish -- Plasma Storm Pokemon Card Review

Vanillish Plasma Storm Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Vanillish from the Plasma Storm Pokemon Card Set.  Vanillish is a stage 1, water type Pokemon card, with an hp of 80.  It has a x2 weakness to metal type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Vanillish does not have an Ability and it only has one move.  The only move it has is called Icy Snow, this move requires two energy cards, one each of water and colorless, and does 30 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Vanillish is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Vanillite into play (I reviewed Vanillite from this set yesterday) and then evolve Vanillite into Vanillish.  Vanillish does have a stage 2 evolution in Vanilluxe that you'll probably want to use with this Pokemon line but since I haven't reviewed that card yet, the strategy below will act like Vanillish is the final evolution in this line.  So if you read yesterday's review, you'll know that I thought Vanillite was an average basic Pokemon card that could be used in a deck on its own if you only use one of them.  Because of this, I would recommend using Vanillite as a starter Pokemon, attaching one energy card to it in the active Pokemon and then as soon as you get Vanillish into your hand to evolve Vanillite into Vanillish, attach another energy card to it, and then use Icy Snow every turn.  If you only use these two Pokemon in your water type deck, I would use a 1-1 line of Vanillite and Vanillish.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is an average stage 1 Pokemon card. Even though this card has a below average hp, I am still giving this card an average rating because I like that it has a low retreat cost and that the only move it has only requires two energy cards to use and does above average damage.  So if you have a water type deck, and are looking for a couple of more Pokemon to put in your deck, you can't go wrong with Vanillite and Vanillish from the Plasma Storm set.  Overall, so far I would give this line a 3 out of 5 rating, both cards are very average.

Vanillish -- Dark Explorers Pokemon Card Review

Vanillish Dark Explorers Pokemon Card Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Vanillish from the Dark Explorers Pokemon Card Set.  This is a stage 1, water type Pokemon card, with an hp of 70.  Vanillish has a x2 weakness to metal type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Vanillish doesn't have an Ability but it does have two moves, the first move is called Triple Spin and for one water energy card it does 20 damage times the number of heads you get when you flip three coins.  Vanillish's second move is called Frost Breath and does 50 damage for three energy cards, two colorless and one water.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since this is a stage 1 Pokemon card that has a stage 2 evolution you're going to want to evolve Vanillish into Vanilluxe as soon as you can since that Pokemon is much better, but if you have to use Vanillish in the active Pokemon spot the strategy is easy, I would use Triple Spin every turn because it has the potential to do more damage and it only requires you to put one energy card on Vanillish instead of one, which is a good thing since Vanillish's hp is so low that you're probably going to get knocked out before you can evolve Vanillish into Vanilluxe, that's why I would recommend keeping Vanillish on the bench until you can evolve it.  The only time I would use Frost Breath is if you can knock out the Pokemon in 1 turn with 50 damage or the Pokemon has 100 hp or less than I would use Frost Breath two turns in a row.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  Once again, I wouldn't use this card for long in the active Pokemon spot, but if you are using this card, this card is below average, it has an extremely low hp,  but can do some damage, but Triple Spin really depends on luck, and Frost Breath doesn't do enough damage to warrant putting three energy cards on it.  So overall this card is below average.
