Togepi -- Roaring Skies Pokemon Card Review

Pokemon Card Overview:

Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Togepi from the Roaring Skies set.  Togepi is a basic, fairy type Pokemon card with an hp of 40.  It has a x2 weakness to metal type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to darkness type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Togepi does not have an Ability or Ancient Trait and it only has one move.  The only move that this card has is called Sweet Kiss, this move requires one colorless energy card to use and does 10 damage, but it lets your opponent draw a card.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Togepi is a basic Pokemon card with a Stage 1 evolution in Togetic, and a Stage 2 evolution in Togekiss, which I'll be reviewing the next few days, you'll more than likely want to use some of those Pokemon with this card, however, since I have not reviewed any of those cards yet, I will just act like Togepi does not have any evolution forms and that it will be used on its own.  On its own, I would not recommend using this card in a deck, mainly because of its low HP.  If you use this card any other time than the start of the game, it is going to get knocked out very quickly.  Plus, if you use this card at the start of the game like needed, Sweet Kiss, is going to help your opponent more than hurt it since it lets them draw an additional card.  So unless you want to use this Togepi card as the first step in the rest of this family in your deck, stay away from this card.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 1 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is a very poor Basic Pokemon card from the Roaring Skies set.  The only thing that I like about this card is that it can attack for one energy card, other than that it has an extremely low HP, and the one move it does have, which makes the card very limited, really helps out the opponent too.  So look elsewhere if you're building a fairy type deck.

Togepi -- Plasma Storm Pokemon Card Review

Pokemon Card Overview:

Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Togepi from the Plasma Storm Pokemon Card Set.  Togepi is a basic, colorless type Pokemon card with an hp of 40.  It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Togepi does not have an Ability and it only has one move.  The only move this card has is called Yawn, and for one colorless energy card this move makes the defending Pokemon fall asleep.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Togepi is a basic Pokemon card with a stage 1 evolution in Togetic and a stage 2 evolution in Togekiss, which I'll be reviewing the next two days, you'll more than likely want to use those cards with this Pokemon.  However, since I haven't reviewed those cards yet, I'll just act as though I plan on using this card without its evolutions.  So on its own, I would not recommend using this card in your deck.  I say this for a couple of reasons, one is Togepi's hp is quite low, and two is the fact that Togepi can't do any damage, so if you aren't using this card with its evolutions don't use this card at all.  Of course if you do choose to use this card in a deck, use no more than 1, and try and get it in the active Pokemon spot very early so you can put the defending Pokemon to sleep and have time to set up your benched Pokemon.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is a below average basic Pokemon card.  I don't think this card is that bad, but because it does have way below average hp, I'm giving it a below average rating.  Yawn is actually a pretty decent move and used early in games could be fairly effective.

Togepi -- Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card Review

Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Togepi from the Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card Set.  Togepi is a basic, colorless type Pokemon card with an hp of 40. It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Togepi does not have an Ability, and it only has one move.  The only move it has is called Attract Smack, this move requires one colorless energy card and does 10 damage, plus it paralyzes the defending Pokemon if you get a heads when you flip a coin.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Togepi is a basic Pokemon with two evolutions in Togetic and Togekiss, I would usually say to wait until I've reviewed those cards to see what to really do with the basic Pokemon in the Pokemon line, however in this case, there is not a Togekiss card in any of the newer sets and there is a Togetic card in the newer sets, but it is in Plasma Storm and I have not reviewed that card yet.  So I'm going to write the rest of my review like this is a basic Pokemon card with no evolutions.  So, if you look at this card like it can't be used with anything else and must be used on its own, I would not recommend using it in a deck, even though it is a colorless type Pokemon card and it has a decent, quick move, I still wouldn't use this card because it has too low of hp for my liking.  With that being said, if you use this card in your deck, the only thing you can do is use Attract Smack every time and hope to flip a few heads, because if you don't, Togepi is going to be knocked out in no time.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is below average basic Pokemon card.  Even though this card has extremely low hp, I still think this card is pretty decent, I like its move because it is quick, requires any type of energy, and can do damage and inflict a special condition.  Other than the hp on this card, this card is actually solid.  But I still wouldn't use this card in a deck if I didn't have to.
