Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Starly from the BREAKthrough set. Starly is a basic, colorless type Pokemon card with an HP of 50. It has a x2 weakness to lightning type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to fighting type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost. Starly does not have an Ability and it only has one move. The one move it has is called Call for Pals, for one colorless energy card this move allows you to search your deck for as many Starly as you'd like and put them onto your bench.
Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Starly is a basic Pokemon card with a Stage 1 evolution in Staravia, and a Stage 2 evolution in Staraptor, which I'll be reviewing the next few days, you'll more than likely want to use some of those Pokemon with this card, however, since I have not reviewed any of those cards yet, I will just act like Starly does not have any evolution forms and that it will be used on its own. On its own, this card is a very poor Basic Pokemon card, the only thing this card can possibly do for you is make sure that you have Basic Pokemon on your bench so you don't lose the game that way, but there really is no reason to have even one Starly in a deck, definitely not two, so it is a mute point of this card doing anything good at all. So on its own, do not use this card in a deck, if you're using this entire line, at the beginning of the game, it could be helpful to put Starly into the active Pokemon spot the first turn an use Call for Pals once to get all of your Starly on the bench, other than that, this card can't attack and has a low HP, so don't use it.
Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 1 out of 5 rating. In my opinion, this is a very poor Basic Pokemon card from the BREAKthrough set. There really isn't one thing that I like about this card, it has a low HP, and a very poor attack that doesn't do any damage, and just makes you include more poor cards into your deck. So unless you are using Staravia and possibly Staraptor in your deck, stay away from this card at all costs.
