Rattata -- Evolutions Pokemon Card Review

Pokemon Card Overview:

Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Rattata from the XY Evolutions Pokemon Card Set.  Rattata is a basic, colorless type Pokemon card with a HP of 40.  It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Rattata's Ability is called Mischievous Fang and says that when you play Rattata from your hand to your bench, you may discard all Pokemon Tool cards attached to your opponent's Active Pokemon.  Besides the Ability, Rattata just has one move called Bite which does 10 damage for one colorless energy card.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Rattata is a basic Pokemon card with a Stage 1 evolution in Raticate, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, you'll more than likely want to use this card with that Pokemon.  However, since I haven't reviewed that card yet, I'll just act as though I plan on using this card without its evolution.  So, on its own, you'll want to pass on using this card in the active Pokemon spot since it only has 40 HP and can only do 10 damage per turn, but this card may still have some use if you can repeatedly move it from your hand to your bench, utilizing its Ability multiple times and removing Pokemon Tool cards from your opponent's Active Pokemon.  So if you think you'll be seeing a lot of decks with Pokemon Tool cards in them, definitely try and fit one of these into your deck, otherwise, I would either wait to see how good Raticate from this set is tomorrow, or just pass on this card altogether.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  So in my opinion, on its own, without considering Raticate, this is a below average Basic Pokemon card from the XY Evolutions set.  Like I mentioned in depth above, the Ability on this card is solid, especially if you're able to reuse it.  I do like the one move that Rattata has, since it can be used for one energy card, but the combination of a low HP and only one move, make this card an easy one to pass on.

Rattata -- BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Review

Pokemon Card Overview:

Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Rattata from the BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Set.  Rattata is a basic, colorless type Pokemon card with an hp of 30.  It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost. Rattata does not have an Ability and it only has one move.  The only move that this card has is called Dangerous Suspicion and for one colorless energy card this move allows you to draw a card and then switch Rattata with one of your benched Pokemon.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Rattata is a basic Pokemon card with a stage 1 evolution in Raticate, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, you'll more than likely want to use this card with that Pokemon.  However, since I haven't reviewed that card yet, I'll just act as though I plan on using this card without its evolution.  So, on its own, I cannot recommend using this card in a deck, mainly because it has too low of an HP and if you aren't attacking first, this card is going to get knocked out in one turn.  The only time I would put this card into the active Pokemon spot is if you for sure are going to evolve it and you know you'll be attacking first, you can then use Dangerous Suspicion the first turn and then use a different Pokemon the next.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 1 out of 5 rating.  So in my opinion, on its own, without considering Raticate, this is a below average Basic Pokemon card.  You don't have to look much farther than its HP to see this card is very poor.  There is just no reason to play such a weak card in the active Pokemon spot, one that is so susceptible to a knock out.

Rattata -- Plasma Freeze Pokemon Card Review

Pokemon Card Overview:

Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Rattata from the Plasma Freeze Pokemon Card Set.  Rattata is a basic, colorless type Pokemon card with an hp of 40.  It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Rattata does not have an Ability and it only has one move.  The only move this card has is called Lunge, this move requires two colorless energy cards and does 30 damage if you get a heads when you flip a coin, if you get a tails this move does nothing.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Rattata is a basic Pokemon card with a stage 1 evolution in Raticate, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, you'll more than likely want to use this card with that Pokemon.  However, since I haven't reviewed that card yet, I'll just act as though I plan on using this card without its evolution.  So on its own, I would not recommend using Rattata in a deck.  I say this because Rattata has an extremely low hp, and the only move it has requires two energy cards, and most Pokemon can do 40 damage in two turns, so by the time Rattata could attack it would be knocked out.  Of course, if you do have this card in your deck, you'll want to get it into the active Pokemon spot early since it has a low hp, and use Lunge every single turn.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 1 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is a very poor basic Pokemon card.  Even though this card will work in any deck, I'm giving this card my lowest rating because this is one of those cards that may end up doing zero damage for you if you have it in your deck.  Add that to the fact it has a low hp and its move is slow, and you'll see why I would stay away from this card on its own, and see why I gave it a 1 out of 5 rating.

Rattata -- Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card Review

Pokemon Card Overview:

Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Rattata from the Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card Set.  Rattata is a basic, colorless type Pokemon card with an hp of 30.  It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Rattata does not have an Ability and it only has 1 move.  The only move it has is called Paralyzing Gaze, this move requires one colorless energy card and paralyzes the defending Pokemon if you get a heads when you flip a coin.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Rattata is a basic Pokemon card with a stage 1 evolution in Raticate, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, you'll definitely want to use this card with Raticate.  I say this because on its own, Rattata is extremely weak, and does not have a move that for sure does anything.  Its only move has a 50% chance of paralyzing the defending Pokemon but if you have Rattata in the active Pokemon spot other than to start the game, more than likely it will get knocked out in 1 turn.  So my recommendation with this card is to stay away from it at all costs.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 1 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an extremely bad basic Pokemon card.  This card has a low hp, a terrible move, and nothing else that is any good at all.  I would never use this card in a deck, and it would be hard to use Raticate in a deck as well if this is the only option to play before using Raticate.
