Liepard -- Phantom Forces Pokemon Card Review

Liepard Phantom Forces Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Liepard from the Phantom Forces Pokemon Card Set.  Liepard is a stage 1, darkness type Pokemon card, with an hp of 90.  It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to psychic type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Liepard does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Gentle Bite, for one darkness energy card this move does 10 damage, plus any damage done by attacks from the defending Pokemon is reduced by 60.  Liepard's second move is called mach Claw, this move requires two darkness energy cards and does 40 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Liepard is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Purrloin into play (I reviewed Purrloin from this set yesterday) and then evolve Purrloin into Liepard.  If you read yesterday's review of Purrloin, you'll know that I thought that card was a slightly below average Basic Pokemon card.  It had one good move, but it was limited with only having one move and a low HP.  So knowing this about Purrloin and looking at this Liepard card, if you want to give yourself some time to set up your benched Pokemon, it may be a good idea to include a 1-1 line of Purrloin and Liepard in your deck.  You could try and get Purrloin into the active Pokemon spot to start the game, paralyze the defending Pokemon the first turn, evolve Purrloin into Liepard the second, and then use Gentle Bite after that, preventing your opponent from doing any damage at all with their weak, Basic Pokemon.  I wouldn't include more than one each of both Pokemon in this line because neither can do much for damage, but both cards are very good defensively and can give you time to set up your bench, and both have low retreat costs.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is an average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Phantom Forces set.  Like I said in the strategy section of this post, this card is very good on on the defensive side and has a low retreat cost, but because it can't do major damage I cannot give this card higher than an average rating.  Together with Purrloin from this set, I would give both a 3 out of 5 rating, they both could be used together in a darkness type deck.

Liepard -- Plasma Storm Pokemon Card Review

Liepard Plasma Storm Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Liepard from the Plasma Storm Pokemon Card Set.  Liepard is a stage 1, darkness type Pokemon card, with an hp of 80.  It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to psychic type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Liepard does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move this card has is called Silent Claw, this move requires one colorless energy card and lets you look at your opponent's hand, discard a supporter card from their hand if they have one and use that card as your move.  Liepard's second move is called Fake Out, this move requires two energy cards, one each of colorless and darkness, and does 30 damage plus paralyzes the defending Pokemon if you get a heads when you flip a coin.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Liepard is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get one of the two Purrloin cards from this set into play (I reviewed both of those cards the past few days) and then evolve Purrloin into Liepard.  If you read the past couple of reviews you'll know that neither Purrloin card from this set is very good so it really doesn't matter which one you include with Liepard since both are equally as bad. Because Purrloin is so bad, I would recommend evolving Purrloin into Liepard on the bench and putting two energy cards on it there, that way when you move Liepard into the active Pokemon spot you can use Fake Out right away.  This card would do better earlier in a game because it can paralyze the defending Pokemon and help you set up your Pokemon in the beginning of the game without taking damage from your opponent and it gives you the best chance of being able to discard a supporter card of your opponent's when using Silent Claw.  With that being said, I don't think I would use this card or this Pokemon family from the Plasma Storm set in a deck at all.  If you choose to, I wouldn't use more than a 1-1 line of Purrloin and Liepard.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a below average stage 1 Pokemon card and a miserably line overall that I would stay away from at all costs.  I particularly don't like this card because it has too low of hp and neither of its moves are more than average.  So overall I am giving this Pokemon family from Plasma Storm a 1 out of 5 rating, they are not good at all.

Liepard -- Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card Review

Liepard Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Liepard from the Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card Set. The first move this card has is called Tail Trickery and for one darkness energy card this move confuses the defending Pokemon.  Besides Tail Trickery, Liepard's other move is called Assist, this move requires three energy cards, two colorless and one darkness, and allows you to choose a move of one of the Pokemon you have on your bench and use that move.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Liepard is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Purrloin into play (I reviewed Purrloin from this set yesterday) and then evolve Purrloin into Liepard.  If you read yesterday's review, you'll know that I thought Purrloin was a horrible basic Pokemon card that should not be used in any deck.  But since you have to use Purrloin with Liepard, make sure to keep Purrloin on the bench and evolve it there.  I would only move Liepard into the active Pokemon spot if you have a Pokemon on your bench that does major damage but requires too many energy cards to use the move, you could then move Liepard into the active Pokemon spot and then use Assist and use the move that your Pokemon has on the bench that does a lot of damage but the Pokemon on your bench doesn't have enough energy cards for.  Because Liepard can't do much on its own and it has a low hp, I would only use 1 max of each Purrloin and Liepard in a deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a below average stage 1 Pokemon card. This card definitely has potential to be very good in a deck since it can use any of your other Pokemon's moves for more than likely less energy cards, but without a good Pokemon on your bench, the only thing Liepard can do is confuse the defending Pokemon, so it isn't that great, add in the fact it has a low hp and that Purrloin is terrible, I probably wouldn't use this card in a deck, and like I stated above, would not use more than 1 if I did.  Overall, this line gets a 2 out of 5 rating from me, neither Pokemon, Purrloin or Liepard is very good.
