Klang -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Klang Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Klang from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card set.  Klang is a Stage 1, metal type Pokemon card, with an HP of 80.  It has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to psychic type Pokemon, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Klang does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Vice Grip and does 30 damage for two energy cards, one each of metal and colorless.  Klang's second move is called Disorderly Flip and for three energy cards, two metal and one colorless, this move does 30 damage times the number of heads you get when you flip 4 coins.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Klang is a Stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Klink into play (I reviewed Klink from this set yesterday) and then evolve Klink into Klang.  Klang does have a Stage 2 evolution in Klinklang, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, that you'll probably want to use with this Pokemon line but since I haven't reviewed that card yet, the strategy below will act like Klang is the final evolution in this line.  So if you read my review of Klink, you'll know that I thought it was a below average Basic Pokemon card, the card definitely had some potential to do a good amount of damage for very little energy, but the card itself had a low HP and a high retreat cost, and its only move was based off of coin flips.  So knowing this about Klink and looking at this Klang card, this card is similar in that it has a below average HP, a higher retreat cost, yet has the potential to do well above average damage.  If you decide to use Klang in a deck it would be for its Disorderly Flip move, since it can do up to 120 damage per turn for three energy cards, just like with Klink, you'll want to make sure you have 4 Trick Coin trainer cards in your deck if you are using Klang, because that will give you the best shot at doing major damage.  So, the only way I would recommend using a 1-1 line of this Pokemon family is with that full line of Trick Coin trainers.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a below average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Steam Siege set.  This Stage 1 card has a below average HP, higher retreat cost, yet two solid moves, making it usable in a deck, but not the greatest card out there to use.  Together with Klink from this set, which I gave a 2 out of 5 rating, I would give these two cards a 2 out of 5 rating, like I mentioned in the strategy section of this post, if you're using Trick Coin trainers or if you don't mind coin flip based moves, this is a usable line.

Klang -- Plasma Storm Pokemon Card Review

Klang Plasma Storm Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Klang from the Plasma Storm Pokemon Card Set. The first move that this card has is called Vice Grip, this move requires one metal energy card and does 20 damage.  Klang's second move is called Gear Smash, this move requires three energy cards, two colorless and one metal, and does 30 damage plus 20 more damage for each heads you get when you flip a coin.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Klang is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Klink into play (I reviewed Klink from this set yesterday) and then evolve Klink into Klang.  Klang does have a stage 2 evolution in Klinklang that you'll probably want to use with this Pokemon line but since I haven't reviewed that card yet, the strategy below will act like Klang is the final evolution in this line.  So if you read yesterday's review, you'll know that I thought Klink was a very average basic Pokemon card.  With that being said, after looking at this card I wouldn't recommend using this card in a deck unless you plan on using it with Klinklang because this card is definitely below average.  However, if you do choose to use this card in a deck, I would use a 1-1 line of Klink and Klang, and whenever you can I would evolve Klink into Klang because Klang can attack for only 1 energy card, after you get three energy cards on Klang I would use Gear Smash every turn, but if you get Klang into the active Pokemon spot within two or three turns of the start of the game I would consider only attaching one energy card to it, using Vice Grip every turn and then attaching energy cards to your benched Pokemon instead of Klang.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a below average stage 1 Pokemon card. This card does have two moves which is nice, but I don't like the fact this card has a below average hp, fairly high retreat cost, and one of Klang's moves (Gear Smash) more than likely will do below average per turn.  So like I mentioned in the strategy section of this review, I would not use this card in a deck without Klinklang.  So so far, the line of Klink and Klang would get a 2 out of 5 rating.

Klang -- Emerging Powers Pokemon Card Review

Klang Emerging Powers Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Klang from the Emerging Powers Pokemon Card Set.  Klang is a stage 1, metal type Pokemon card, with an hp of 80.  It has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to psychic type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Klang doesn't have an Ability but it does have two moves, the first move takes one colorless energy card and confuses the defending Pokemon, this move is called Metal Sound.  Klang's second move is called Guard Press and for three energy cards, two metal and one colorless it does 60 damage and any attacks on Klang during your opponent's next turn is reduced by 20.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since this is a stage 1 Pokemon card that has a stage 2 evolution in Klinklang, I would recommend keeping Klang on the bench and evolving it into Klinklang before putting it into play, I would do this because Klinklang can do much more damage than Klang and it has a higher hp.  There is one Klinklang card in this set, and I've reviewed that card on my blog previously.  If you have to put Klang into play, I would recommend using Guard Press every turn because it is the only move that can do damage to your opponent's active Pokemon, but if you don't have three energy cards on Klang you'll have to use Confuse and hope that the defending Pokemon attacks itself instead of Klang the next turn.  If I were to use Klang in a deck, I would make sure to include Klingklang in that deck and use a 4-3-2 or 3-2-1 line of Klink, Klang, and Klinklang.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  This card is an average, stage 1 Pokemon card, even though it does have lower hp than most stage 1 Pokemon, as long as you can get three energy cards on Klang and use Guard Press, Klang basically has 100 damage on it.  But like I said earlier in this review, make sure to evolve Klang into Klinklang as early as possible to make Klang more useful in your deck.

Klang -- Dark Explorers Pokemon Card Review

Klang Dark Explorers Pokemon Card Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Klang from the Dark Explorers Pokemon Card Set.  This is a Stage 1, metal type Pokemon card, with an hp of 80.  It has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to psychic type Pokemon, and a three colorless energy card retreat cost.  Klang doesn't have an Ability but it does have two moves, the first move is called Charge Beam and for two colorless energy cards it does 20 damage, plus if you get a heads when you flip a coin, you can move an energy card from your discard pile onto Klang.  Klang's second move is called Vice Grip, which takes three energy cards, two colorless and one metal, and does 50 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since this is a stage 1 Pokemon card with a stage 2 evolution in Klinklang, you'll want to leave this card on your bench until you can evolve it into Klinklang.  I wouldn't recommend putting this card into the active Pokemon spot because it isn't very good and could get knocked out before you would have a chance to use Klinklang.  If you have to put Klang in the active Pokemon spot for some reason, the strategy is pretty straightforward, depending on how many energy cards you have will determine the move you can use, I would prefer Vice Grip over Charge Beam.  One thing that is good about this card is that it takes mostly colorless energy cards so this card could easily fit in a dual type deck.  If I were to use Klang in a deck, I would use a 3-2-1 line of Klink, Klang, and Klinklang.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 1 out of 5 rating.  This really is a worthless stage 1 Pokemon card in my opinion, if you take a look at the picture it looks like Klang is already knocked out.  Klang has a low hp, and very high retreat cost, but despite the high retreat cost, neither of Klang's moves can do much damage, so if you want to use Klang in your deck, make sure it is because you want to evolve it into Klinklang as soon as possible.
