Frogadier -- BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Review

Frogadier BREAKpoint Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Frogadier from the BREAKpoint Pokemon Card set.  Frogadier is a stage 1, water type Pokemon card, with an hp of 70.  It has a x2 weakness to grass type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Frogadier does not have an Ability and it only has one move called Water Duplicates that requires one water energy card to use and allows you to search your deck for up to 3 Frogadier cards and put them onto your bench.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Frogadier is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Froakie into play (I reviewed Froakie from this set yesterday) and then evolve Froakie into Frogadier.  Frogadier does have a Stage 2 evolution in Greninja, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, that you'll probably want to use with this Pokemon line but since I haven't reviewed that card yet, the strategy below will act like Frogadier is the final evolution in this line.  So if you read my review of Froakie, you'll know that I thought that card was very poor overall and one that shouldn't be used on its own, the card did have a good HP and low retreat cost, but it was limited in the fact it only had one move and the one move it had was based off of a coin flip, and even if you did flip a heads, all you could do was paralyze the defending Pokemon.  So knowing this about Froakie and looking at this Frogadier card, this card is very poor as well, similar to Froakie in that the one move this card has is very poor, and if you aren't using this line with Greninja, there is no way you would have more than one Frogadier card in your deck and it would make Water Duplicates a move that does absolutely nothing, plus consider that Frogadier's HP is so low, and there is absolutely no reason to ever have this card in the active Pokemon spot.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 1 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is an extremely poor Stage 1 Pokemon card from the BREAKpoint set, probably one of the worst Stage 1 cards I've reviewed in quite some time, not only does this card have a really low HP, but it only has one move, and a move that doesn't do any damage and does nothing if you're only using one Frogadier in your deck.  So paired with Froakie from this set, I can only give this line a 1 out of 5 rating, definitely stay away.

Frogadier -- BREAKthrough Pokemon Card Review

Frogadier BREAKthrough Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Frogadier from the BREAKthrough Pokemon Card set.  Frogadier is a stage 1, water type Pokemon card, with an hp of 70.  It has a x2 weakness to grass type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Frogadier does not have an Ability and it only has one move called Cut that does 30 damage for two colorless energy cards.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Frogadier is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Froakie into play (I reviewed Froakie from this set yesterday) and then evolve Froakie into Frogadier.  Frogadier does have a Stage 2 evolution in Greninja, however there is not a Greninja card in this set, you'll have to use the one from the XY set that I've reviewed previously on my blog.  The strategy now will only consider the first two cards in this line.  If you read my review of Froakie you'll know that I thought it was a below average Basic Pokemon card, it was just limited in what it could do having only one move and doing a maximum of 10 damage, plus a low HP didn't help matters.  So knowing this about Froakie and looking at this Frogadier card, this card is pretty similar to Froakie in that it is very limited in what it can do only having one move plus a very low HP.  Because of how low the HP is on this card I cannot recommend using this line in a deck.  I guess the one positive on this card is that it requires only colorless energy so it can fit in any type decks, but again, having a Stage 1 card with only 70 HP is not a good way to go about building your deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 1 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a poor Stage 1 Pokemon card from the BREAKthrough set.  Other than its extremely low HP, this card is pretty average having one good move and a low retreat cost, but because this card's HP is so low, I am giving it my lowest rating.  Combined with Froakie from this set, I can't give this line higher than a 2 out of 5 rating.

Frogadier -- Pokemon X and Y Card Review

Frogadier Pokemon X and Y Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Frogadier from the X and Y Pokemon card set.  Frogadier is a stage 1, water type Pokemon card, with an hp of 80.  It has a x2 weakness to grass type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Frogadier does not have an Ability and it only has one move.  The only move that this card has is called Lick, this move requires two energy cards, one each of water and colorless, and does 30 damage, plus if you get a heads when you flip a coin it paralyzes the defending Pokemon.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Frogadier is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Froakie into play (I reviewed Froakie from this set yesterday) and then evolve Froakie into Frogadier.  Frogadier does have a stage 2 evolution in Greninja that you'll probably want to use with this Pokemon line but since I haven't reviewed that card yet, the strategy below will act like Frogadier is the final evolution in this line.  So if you read yesterday's review of Froakie, you'll know that I thought that the card was below average and should definitely not be used in a deck without at least Frogadier.  So after summarizing this card in the overview section of this post, I still wouldn't recommend using either of the first two Pokemon in this line without using Greninja.  The first two Pokemon in this line are average at best and should not be used in a water type deck, but if you choose to use them, do not use more than a 1-1 line and try and evolve Froakie into Frogadier before you move it to the active Pokemon spot then use Frogadier's Lick move every turn.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is an average, to slightly below average stage 1 Pokemon card from the X and Y set.  Despite having a low hp, everything else on this card is good, I especially like its low retreat cost and its one move which does above average damage plus can inflict a special condition.  Even though this card is averaged, combined with Froakie from this set, those two cards only get a 2 out of 5 rating from me.  Individually, Froakie was a 2, and Frogadier was a 3.
