Whismur -- Plasma Storm Pokemon Card Review

Whismur Plasma Storm Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Whismur from the Plasma Storm Pokemon Card Set.  Whismur is a basic, colorless type Pokemon card with an hp of 70.  It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Whismur does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Shout, this move requires one colorless energy card and allows you discard a random card from your opponent's hand if you get a heads when you flip a coin.  Whismur's second move is called Hyper Voice, this move requires three colorless energy cards and does 30 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Whismur is a basic Pokemon card with a stage 1 evolution in Loudred and a stage 2 evolution in Exploud, which I'll be reviewing the next two days, you'll more than likely want to use those cards with this Pokemon.  However, since I haven't reviewed those cards yet, I'll just act as though I plan on using this card without its evolutions.  So on its own, I would not recommend using this card in your deck.  I say this because even though Whismur has a high hp for a basic Pokemon with two evolutions, this card cannot do much at all.  It takes a long time to do damage with this card so it won't work as a starter Pokemon, and the move this card has that only requires one energy card isn't even guaranteed to make your opponent discard one of their cards.  So again, I would not use this card in a deck on its own.  If you choose to, you'll have to spend the time to put three energy cards on Whismur (preferably on the bench) and then use Hyper Voice every turn when it is in the active Pokemon spot.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 1 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is a way below average basic Pokemon card.  I can't fathom a case where I would put this card in a deck on its own.  I just don't like this card at all, even though it fits in any deck, has above average hp, and has two moves, I still don't like this card.  Like I mentioned in the strategy section of this post, Whismur cannot do much to the defending Pokemon, so no matter how high its hp is, it really doesn't matter because this card cannot do anything for you.

Togekiss -- Plasma Storm Pokemon Card Review

Togekiss Plasma Storm Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Togekiss from the Plasma Storm Pokemon Card Set.  Togekiss is a stage 2, colorless type Pokemon card, with an hp of 140.  It has a x2 weakness to lightning type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to fighting type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Togekiss's Ability is called Bright Veil and says that as long as Togekiss is your active Pokemon, any item card that your opponent puts into play cannot affect Togekiss.  Besides the Ability, Togekiss only has one move.  The only move this card has is called Return, this move requires one colorless energy card and does 30 damage.  Besides doing the damage the move also allows you to add cards to your hand from your deck until you have 6 cards in your hand.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Togekiss is a stage 2 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Togepi into play and then evolve it into Togetic before you can evolve Togetic into Togekiss, both of those Pokemon are from this set and I've reviewed both of them the last couple of days.  Neither of the first two Pokemon in this family are very good in this set, both only have one move and below average hp.  With that being said, both cards can be put in the active Pokemon spot right away since they only require one energy card to attack and can be used in any deck but I would recommend keeping those Pokemon on your bench until you can evolve them to their final evolution in Togekiss.  Once you have Togekiss on your bench, you should be able to move it into the active Pokemon spot quite quickly since it only requires one energy card to attack.  Once in the active Pokemon spot you can use Return every turn which allows you to not only do damage but to replenish your hand every turn.  I personally would not use this line from the Plasma Storm set in my deck, but you definitely could, if you do choose to use this family, I would suggest using a 3-2-1 line in any type deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a below average stage 2 Pokemon card from the Plasma Storm Pokemon card set.  This card continues the trend of all the Pokemon from this family getting below average ratings from me the past couple of days.  I do like a few things about this card even though I'm giving it a below average rating.  I like that it has a solid hp, low retreat cost, quick move, and a decent Ability.  However, I do not like that it only has the one move, and that one move can't do much damage.  So overall, I would give this entire Pokemon family, Togepi, Togetic, and Togekiss, and 2 out of 5 rating.  I would not suggest using the line in your deck.

Togetic -- Plasma Storm Pokemon Card Review

Togetic Plasma Storm Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Togetic from the Plasma Storm Pokemon Card Set.  Togetic is a stage 1, colorless type Pokemon card, with an hp of 80.  It has a x2 weakness to lightning type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to fighting type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Togetic does not have an Ability and it only has one move.  The only move this card has is called Sweet Kiss, this move requires one colorless energy card and does 30 damage, however after using this move, your opponent gets to draw a card.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Togetic is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Togepi into play (I reviewed Togepi from this set yesterday) and then evolve Togepi into Togetic.  Togetic does have a stage 2 evolution in Togekiss that you'll probably want to use with this Pokemon line but since I haven't reviewed that card yet, the strategy below will act like Togetic is the final evolution in this line.  So if you read yesterday's review, you'll know that I thought Togepi was a below average Pokemon card with a low hp and only one move that cannot do any damage, so I did not recommend using that card in a deck on its own.  After looking at this card, I still will veer away from using the first two Pokemon from this family in a deck without using Togekiss, just because Togetic, just like Togepi only has one move and they both have low hp.  With that being said, if you do choose to use Togepi and Togetic in a deck, you can use them in any deck, and I would not use more than a 2-1 or 2-2 line of these two Pokemon.  I would try and get Togepi into the active Pokemon spot quickly, put the defending Pokemon to sleep, then evolve Togepi into Togetic, set up your benched Pokemon on the bench while the defending Pokemon is asleep, and while doing this use Sweet Kiss every turn.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a below average stage 1 Pokemon card. This card is below average in my opinion because it has a low hp and only one move.  Albeit, the one move this card does have is pretty decent, but overall, just looking at this card, it really isn't anything special.  With that being said, I am actually going to give the line of Togepi and Togetic from this set a 3 out of 5 rating, neither card is very good, but they do work very nicely together as a pair.

Togepi -- Plasma Storm Pokemon Card Review

Togepi Plasma Storm Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Togepi from the Plasma Storm Pokemon Card Set.  Togepi is a basic, colorless type Pokemon card with an hp of 40.  It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Togepi does not have an Ability and it only has one move.  The only move this card has is called Yawn, and for one colorless energy card this move makes the defending Pokemon fall asleep.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Togepi is a basic Pokemon card with a stage 1 evolution in Togetic and a stage 2 evolution in Togekiss, which I'll be reviewing the next two days, you'll more than likely want to use those cards with this Pokemon.  However, since I haven't reviewed those cards yet, I'll just act as though I plan on using this card without its evolutions.  So on its own, I would not recommend using this card in your deck.  I say this for a couple of reasons, one is Togepi's hp is quite low, and two is the fact that Togepi can't do any damage, so if you aren't using this card with its evolutions don't use this card at all.  Of course if you do choose to use this card in a deck, use no more than 1, and try and get it in the active Pokemon spot very early so you can put the defending Pokemon to sleep and have time to set up your benched Pokemon.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is a below average basic Pokemon card.  I don't think this card is that bad, but because it does have way below average hp, I'm giving it a below average rating.  Yawn is actually a pretty decent move and used early in games could be fairly effective.
