Diancie -- Phantom Forces Pokemon Card Review

Diancie Phantom Forces Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Diancie from the Phantom Forces Pokemon Card Set.  Diancie is a basic, fairy type Pokemon card with an hp of 90, it has a x2 weakness to metal type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to darkness type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Diancie does not have an Ability but it does have two moves, the first move that this card has is called Sparkle, for one fairy type energy card this move makes your opponent flip a coin before attacking next turn, if they get a tails, all effects of that attack are prevented.  Diancie's second move is called Diamond Storm, this move requires three energy cards to use, two fairy and one colorless, and does 60 damage, plus it heals 30 damage from each of your fairy type Pokemon in play.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Diancie is a basic Pokemon with no evolutions, you only have to use this Pokemon in your deck if you want to use this card.  With that being said, I would highly recommend using this card in a deck only if your deck is mostly a fairy type deck.  The strategy then would be to get Diancie set up on the bench, getting three energy cards on it, then use your other fairy type Pokemon in the active Pokemon spot first, get some damage on all of them, but retreat them before they feint, then move Diancie into the active Pokemon spot and use Diamond Storm every turn thus healing 30 damage from each of your fairy type Pokemon on the bench and doing 60 damage to the defending Pokemon.  If you do get this card into the active Pokemon spot to start the game, I would hope for the opponent to have some bad luck and get tails every time when flipping a coin, and use Sparkle every turn to try and prevent your opponent from attacking and to give you time to set up your benched Pokemon.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an average Basic Pokemon card from the Phantom Forces set, and a slightly above average Basic Pokemon card if you're using this card in a majority fairy type deck.  This card has a good HP and low retreat cost, and two average moves, unless you have mostly fairy type cards in your deck, than Diamond Storm is a well above average move.  So like I stated in the strategy section of this post, this card will be very good in a fairy type deck and every fairy type deck out there should include this card in their deck.

Dedenne -- Phantom Forces Pokemon Card Review

Dedenne Phantom Forces Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Dedenne from the Phantom Forces Pokemon Card Set.  Dedenne is a basic, fairy type Pokemon card with an hp of 70, it has a x2 weakness to metal type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to darkness type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Dedenne does not have an Ability but it does have two moves, the first move that this card has is called Nuzzle, this move requires one colorless energy card and if you get a heads when flipping a coin, the defending Pokemon is paralyzed.  Dedenne's second move is called Spiral Drain, this move requires three energy cards to use, two colorless and one fairy, and does 60 damage, plus it heals 20 damage from Dedenne.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Dedenne is a basic Pokemon with no evolutions, you only have to use this Pokemon in your deck if you want to use this card.  With that being said, I wouldn't highly recommend using this card in a deck because it is slow on the attack and has a lower HP than you'd like a Pokemon that takes three energy cards to attack to have.  The one move that does damage on this card isn't bad, doing average damage and healing Dedenne, but if you want to use this card later in the game, it is pretty much a guarantee it will get knocked out in two turns or less.  This card wouldn't be the worst card to use in a deck however, since it requires mostly colorless energy cards.  You could either start the game with this card in the active Pokemon spot and paralyze the defending Pokemon to start until getting three energy cards on Dedenne and then using Spiral Drain thereafter, or you could leave this card on your bench, and move it to the active Pokemon spot when you do get three energy cards on Dedenne.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an average Basic Pokemon card from the Phantom Forces set.  Other than being a bit slow on the attack, and having a little lower HP than most Basic Pokemon cards without an evolution, I am still giving this card an average rating because it does have two moves, a low retreat cost, and can not only do 60 damage a turn, but heal 20 damage a turn from itself.  So if you're building a fairy type deck, this card is definitely worth consideration.

Slurpuff -- Phantom Forces Pokemon Card Review

Slurpuff Phantom Forces Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Slurpuff from the Phantom Forces Pokemon Card Set.  Slurpuff is a stage 1, fairy type Pokemon card, with an hp of 90.  It has a x2 weakness to metal type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to darkness type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Slurpuff's Ability is called Tasting and says that once per turn you may draw a card, if Slurpuff is in the active Pokemon spot you can draw two cards total.  Besides the Ability, Slurpuff just has one move called Light Pulse, this move requires three energy cards, two colorless and one fairy, and does 60 damage plus it prevents all effects of an attack other than damage done to Slurpuff during your opponent's next turn.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Slurpuff is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Swirlix into play (I reviewed Swirlix from this set yesterday) and then evolve Swirlix into Slurpuff.  If you read yesterday's review of Swirlix, you'll know that I thought that card was a below average Basic Pokemon card, mainly because the only damage it could do required two energy cards instead of one, because other than that the card had a decent HP, low retreat cost, and two moves.  So knowing this about Swirlix and looking at this Slurpuff card, I could see using a 1-1 line of Swirlix and Slurpuff in a fairy type deck.  I wouldn't include too many of either Pokemon because neither Pokemon is that great, I would use Slurpuff mainly for its Ability allowing me to draw an extra card every single turn.  The one move that Slurpuff does have is about average for requiring three energy cards, but since this is only a Stage 1 card, and only has 90 HP, I would look elsewhere if you want to use a move that does 90 damage a turn.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is an average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Phantom Forces set.  This card has an average HP, above average Ability, average move, and low retreat cost.  It is about as solid of a card you'll find out there, but it doesn't do anything special therefore I am giving this card just an average rating.  Together with Swirlix from this set, I'll give them a 3 out of 5 rating, they could definitely be used in a deck, but only as fillers if you don't have better Pokemon to use.

Swirlix -- Phantom Forces Pokemon Card Review

Swirlix Phantom Forces Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Swirlix from the Phantom Forces Pokemon Card Set.  Swirlix is a basic, fairy type Pokemon card with an hp of 60.  It has a x2 weakness to metal type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to darkness type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost. Swirlix does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Lick Away, for one fairy type energy card this move removes all special conditions from Swirlix.  Swirlix's second move is called Tackle, for two colorless energy cards this move does 20 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Swirlix is a basic Pokemon card with a stage 1 evolution in Slurpuff, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, you'll more than likely want to use this card with that Pokemon.  However, since I haven't reviewed that card yet, I'll just act as though I plan on using this card without its evolution.  So, on its own you could definitely use one of these in a fairy type deck, or really any type deck since its main move requires colorless energy, but I would be careful in how many you choose to use or if you use this card at all.  This card does have an average HP, low retreat cost, and two moves.  I would use this card mainly for Tackle, it is an average move, a little slow to use but should be effective early in the game.  Lick Away doesn't do much for me, because if you use this card at the start of the game, it is more than likely not going to have any special conditions inflicted upon it.  So if you use this card, try and get it into the active Pokemon spot to start the game then use Tackle every turn.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  So in my opinion, on its own, without considering Swirlix, this card is a below average Basic Pokemon card.  I really wanted to give this card a 3 out of 5 rating because it has average everything, but I am not a big fan of Lick Away and I wish the card could have done 10 damage plus remove all special conditions with that move.  So if you are building a deck and need one more card in it, this card is definitely worth a look.
