Zweilous -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Zweilous Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Zweilous from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card set.  Zweilous is a Stage 1, dragon type Pokemon card, with a HP of 90.  It has a x2 weakness to fairy type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a three colorless energy card retreat cost.  Zweilous does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Double Hit, for one colorless energy card this move does 20 damage times the number of heads you get when you flip 2 coins.  Zweilous' second move is called Power Breath and for three energy cards, one each of psychic, darkness, and colorless, this move does 80 damage, however you must discard an energy attached to Zweilous after attacking.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Zweilous is a Stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Deino into play (I reviewed Deino from this set yesterday) and then evolve Deino into Zweilous.  Zweilous does have a Stage 2 evolution in Hydreigon, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, that you'll probably want to use with this Pokemon line but since I haven't reviewed that card yet, the strategy below will act like Zweilous is the final evolution in this line.  So if you read my review of Deino, you'll know that I thought it was a below average Basic Pokemon card, it was solid in the fact it had an average HP and two moves, but it was slow on the attack, had a higher retreat cost, and just didn't really have anything that great about it.  So knowing this about Deino and looking at this Zweilous card, this card is pretty similar in that it has a solid HP and two moves, but just isn't that good overall.  I definitely don't like coin flip based moves and that is exactly what Double Hit is, so instead of using that move I would want to use Power Breath, which does do above average damage, but requires two distinct types of energy to attack and makes you discard an energy when attacking.  So unless Hydreigon from this set is really good, I don't see any reason to use the first two Pokemon in this line in a deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a below average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Steam Siege set.  Like I mentioned above, this card has a solid HP and two moves, but neither move that this card has is very good, one could do zero damage every turn and the other discards an energy.  Together with Deino from this set, which I gave a 2 out of 5 rating, I would give both cards a 1 out of 5 rating, do not use them in a deck on their own.

Zweilous -- Phantom Forces Pokemon Card Review

Zweilous Phantom Forces Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Zweilous from the Phantom Forces Pokemon Card set.  Zweilous is a stage 1, dragon type Pokemon card, with an hp of 90.  It has a x2 weakness to fairy type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Zweilous does not have an Ability and it only has one move, the only move that this card has is called Slam, this move requires two energy cards, one each of darkness and psychic, and does 30 damage times the number of heads you get when you flip two coins.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Zweilous is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Deino into play (I reviewed Deino from this set yesterday) and then evolve Deino into Zweilous.  Zweilous does have a stage 2 evolution in Hydreigon that you'll probably want to use with this Pokemon line but since I haven't reviewed that card yet, the strategy below will act like Zweilous is the final evolution in this line.  So if you read yesterday's review of Deino, you'll know that I thought that card was a below average Basic Pokemon card mainly because of its low HP, and the fact the only move it had required two distinct types of energy cards and it couldn't attack for only one energy card.  So knowing this about Deino and looking at this Zweilous card, I would not recommend using this card in a deck without using Hydreigon.  I say this because Zweilous again, like Deino requires two distinct types of energy cards to attack, plus its only move, may end up doing no damage at all every single turn.  So I cannot recommend a strategy at all to use with this card because there is not a situation where I would recommend using Deino and Zweilous without using Hydreigon, and then I would set up the entire line on the bench.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 1 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a well below average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Phantom Forces set.  Besides having an average HP, everything else on this card are well below average.  Its only move may end up doing zero damage every turn, and this card requires two unique energy cards to attack, thus making this card need a pretty specific deck to use.  So combining with Deino from this set, both are below average, and would get a 1 out of 5 rating from me, stay away from both Pokemon cards.

Zweilous -- Plasma Freeze Pokemon Card Review

Zweilous Plasma Freeze Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Zweilous from the Plasma Freeze Pokemon Card Set.  Zweilous is a stage 1, darkness type Pokemon card, with an hp of 90.  It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to psychic type Pokemon, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Zweilous does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Bite, for two energy cards, one each of darkness and colorless, this move does 30 damage.  Zweilous's second move is called Body Slaw and requires three energy cards, two colorless and one darkness, and does 30 damage, plus paralyzes the defending Pokemon if you get a heads when you flip a coin.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Zweilous is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get one of the two Deino cards from this set into play (I reviewed both Deino cards from this set the past two days) and then evolve one of them into Zweilous.  Zweilous does have a stage 2 evolution in Hydreigon that you'll probably want to use with this Pokemon line but since I haven't reviewed that card yet, the strategy below will act like Zweilous is the final evolution in this line.  So if you've read the past two Deino cards I've reviewed I think those cards are absolutely terrible and should be stayed away from at all costs, with that being said, I think this card is just as bad and I would avoid the whole line of this Pokemon family at all costs.  If you have your heart set on using Hydreigon from this set, first I'll have to see if it is that good when I review it tomorrow and if it is good, you'll want to use Deino and Zweilous from a different set.  If for some strange reason you want to use this sub-standard Pokemon line, I wouldn't use more than 1 each of Deino and Zweilous, they are that bad, and I would keep Deino on the bench, evolve it into Zweilous and try to use Body Slam every turn.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 1 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a way below average stage 1 Pokemon card and it is definitely one of the worst stage 1 cards I have reviewed in quite some time.  The only good thing about this card is that it has an average hp, other than that, both moves on this card are extremely below average, and the card has a high retreat cost as well.  So stay away from this card if you can, I would rate both Deino cards and this Zweilous card from the Plasma Freeze set a 1 out of 5.

Zweilous #96/124 -- Dragons Exalted Pokemon Card Review

Zweilous Dragons Exalted Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Zweilous from the Dragons Exalted Pokemon Card Set.  This is the second of two consecutive Zweilous cards from this set.  Zweilous is a stage 1, dragon type Pokemon card, with an hp of 90.  It has a x2 weakness to dragon type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a three colorless energy card retreat cost.  Zweilous does not have an Ability but it does have two moves, the first move is called Draw In and for one colorless energy cards this move allows you to attach two darkness type energy cards from your discard pile to Zweilous.  Zweilous's second move is called Dragon Headbutt and for three energy cards, one each of colorless, psychic, and darkness, this move does 40 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Zweilous has a stage 2 evolution in Hydreigon, I would suggest evolving Deino into Zweilous and then Zweilous into Hydreigon if possible.  Compared to yesterday's card I would definitely not choose to use this Zweilous card in a deck that I wanted to use Hydreigon in.  This move does 40 less damage per turn for the same amount of energy cards and has a higher retreat cost.  But if you do have this card in your deck, if it is the only Hydreigon card you have for example, your only option to actually attack is to use Dragon Headbutt every turn, so once you get three energy cards on Zweilous use that move and definitely try to evolve Zweilous into Hydreigon as soon as possible.  I would not recommend using this card at all.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 1 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is a terrible stage 1 Pokemon card, the only good thing about this card is that it has an average hp, nothing else is good at all, especially Dragon Headbutt, which does a minimal amount of damage for a fair amount of energy.  Previewing the next two days, one of the Hydreigon cards from this set requires a ton of energy cards but I would not waste my time putting Zweilous into the active Pokemon spot and using Draw In, I would just keep Zweilous on the bench and attach energy cards to it that way, or put trainer cards in the deck that allow you to attach energy cards to a Pokemon.  Once again, I do not recommend using this card at all.

Zweilous #95/124 -- Dragons Exalted Pokemon Card Review

Zweilous Dragons Exalted Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Zweilous from the Dragons Exalted Pokemon Card Set.  This is the first of two consecutive Zweilous cards from this set.  Zweilous is a stage 1, dragon type Pokemon card, with an hp of 80.  It has a x2 weakness to dragon type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Zweilous does not have an Ability but it does have two moves, the first move is called Crunch which requires two colorless energy cards and does 30 damage, plus if you get a heads when you flip a coin, you may remove an energy card attached to the defending Pokemon.  Zweilous's second move is called Dragon Claw which requires three energy cards, one psychic and two darkness, this move does 80 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Zweilous has a stage 2 evolution in Hydreigon, I would suggest evolving Deino into Zweilous and then Zweilous into Hydreigon if possible.  I would consider moving Zweilous into the active Pokemon spot if it is on the bench and you have three energy cards attached to it, that way you can start using Dragon Claw every turn.  If for some reason you have to put Zweilous into the active Pokemon spot before it has three energy cards on it you'll have to use Crunch.  I would definitely think about using Zweilous in a deck without Hydreigon because it can do 80 damage for three energy cards which is a good move to use, however the one thing I would be weary about is that Zweilous's hp isn't very high for a stage 1 Pokemon.  So if you want to use Zweilous without Hydreigon, I would only suggest using a 1-1 line of Deino and Zweilous in a darkness and psychic type deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is a very average stage 1 Pokemon card.  Even though this card has a low hp, I still think it is a decent, stage 1 Pokemon card.  I think that both of its moves make up for the fact it has a low hp.  So I would recommend using this card without Hydreigon but I think it would  be a much safer bet to use this card with Hydreigon.  I'll see tomorrow if the other Zweilous from this set is better than this one.

Zweilous -- Noble Victories Pokemon Card Review

Zweilous Noble Victories Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Zweilous from the Noble Victories Pokemon Card Set.  This is a stage 1, darkness type Pokemon card with an hp of 90.  It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to psychic type Pokemon, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.   Zweilous doesn't have an Ability but it does have two moves, the first move is called Double Hit and for one colorless energy card, it does 20 damage times the number of heads you get when you flip two coins.  Zweilous' second move is called Strength and does 50 damage for three energy cards, two colorless and one darkness.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since this is a stage 1 Pokemon card that has a stage 2 evolution in Hydreigon, you'll not want to use this card unless you really have to.  I would put Deino on the bench, evolve it into Zweilous, and then when you evolve Zweilous into Hydreigon, put Hydreigon into the active Pokemon spot.  If you have to use Zweilous in the active Pokemon spot I would recommend using Strength every turn since it does a consistent 50 damage every turn.  But I would recommend keeping Zweilous on the bench, that way you can attack any kind of energy you like to it, because when you evolve Zweilous into Hydreigon, Hydreigon's Ability will convert all energy cards attached to it into darkness type energy cards.  So overall, I would put this evolution line in almost any type deck, it isn't necessary but I would include a handful of darkness energy cards just in case you can't get to Hydreigon and have to use Zweilous.  I would also recommend using a 3-2-1 or 4-3-2 line of Deino, Zweilous, and Hydreigon.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  Even though I'm going to give this card a below average rating, I still would recommend using this card because it is necessary to use so you can play with Hydreigon.  The reason I'm giving this card a below average rating is because neither of its moves are too great, and both are average attack costs but below average damage.
