Sealeo -- Primal Clash Pokemon Card Review

Sealeo Primal Clash Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Sealeo from the Primal Clash Pokemon Card set.  Sealeo is a stage 1, water type Pokemon card, with an hp of 90.  It has a x2 weakness to metal type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a three colorless energy card retreat cost.  Sealeo does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Freezing Headbutt, this move requires two energy cards to use, one each of water and colorless, and does 30 damage, plus it paralyzes the defending Pokemon if you get a heads when flipping a coin.  Sealeo's second move is called Aurora Beam, this move requires three energy cards to use, two water and one colorless, and does 50 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Sealeo is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get one of the two Spheal cards from this set into play (I reviewed both of those cards the past two days) and then evolve Spheal into Sealeo.  Sealeo does have a stage 2 evolution in Walrein that you'll probably want to use with this Pokemon line but since I haven't reviewed that card yet, the strategy below will act like Sealeo is the final evolution in this line.  So if you read my reviews of the Spheal cards from this set, you'll know that neither Spheal card was that great, the first card only having one move that may end up doing no damage at all, and the second Spheal card being an average Basic Pokemon card but just a little slower on the attack, so if I were to recommend using one of these two I would recommend the second one.  So knowing this about the two Spheal cards from this set and looking at Sealeo, I could potentially see using a 1-1 line of Spheal and Sealeo in this set, trying to get these two Pokemon cards set up early on in the game then being able to do 30 damage a turn with Freezing Headbutt and potentially paralyzing the defending Pokemon, thus letting Sealeo stay in the active Pokemon spot longer and giving your bench more time to get set up.  But more than likely, I wouldn't use this line in a deck without using Walrein, since both Spheal and Sealeo from this set aren't any better than average.  I am not a big fan of Aurora Beam since it does below average damage for the amount of energy cards it requires.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is an average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Primal Clash set.  I like Freezing Headbutt quite well on this card, but outside of that, Sealeo has a high retreat cost and an underwhelming second move, so overall this card definitely isn't above average, but it still does have an average HP and gives you two moves to work with.  So combined with the better Spheal card from this set, I can't give these two cards a higher than 3 out of 5 rating, you can find much better cards to use in your deck.

Sealeo -- Flashfire Pokemon Card Review

Sealeo Flashfire Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Sealeo from the Flashfire Pokemon Card set.  Sealeo is a stage 1, water type Pokemon card, with an hp of 90.  It has a x2 weakness to metal type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a three colorless energy card retreat cost.  Sealeo does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Rest, for two colorless energy cards this move allows you to heal 60 damage from Sealeo, however it then makes Sealeo asleep.  Sealeo's second move is called Ice Ball, this move requires three energy cards, two water and one colorless, and does 60 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Sealeo is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Spheal into play (I reviewed Spheal from this set yesterday) and then evolve Spheal into Sealeo.  Sealeo does have a stage 2 evolution in Walrein that you'll probably want to use with this Pokemon line but since I haven't reviewed that card yet, the strategy below will act like Sealeo is the final evolution in this line.  So if you read yesterday's review of Spheal, you'll know that I thought it was an average Basic Pokemon card.  The card had an above average hp, solid move, but was a little slower and had a high retreat cost.  So if you're already using Spheal in your deck, I would really consider using 1 Sealeo card in your deck as well, because Sealeo can do 40 more damage than Spheal can, and if you have Spheal in the active Pokemon spot already and have two energy cards on it, you could evolve it into Sealeo, put one more energy card on it and use Ice Ball every turn.  Sealeo's other move, Rest, is better suited for it if you want to evolve it into Walrein, that way if you had Sealeo in the active Pokemon spot for awhile and it had some damage on it, you could use Rest one turn and the next turn evolve Sealeo into Walrein.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is an average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Flashfire set.  This card has an average hp, high retreat cost, and two solid moves.  Nothing really stands out to me with this card, so unless you are planning on using this entire family in your deck, I probably wouldn't use this card at all, and would only use 1 maximum if I was using the Spheal card from the set already.  Together, both Spheal and Sealeo would get a combined 3 out of 5 rating from me, the same rating both received individually.

Sealeo -- Dragons Exalted Pokemon Card Review

Sealeo Dragons Exalted Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Sealeo from the Dragons Exalted Pokemon Card Set.  Sealeo is a stage 1, water type Pokemon card, with an hp of 80.  Sealeo is the stage 1 evolution of Spheal, there is a Spheal card in this set and I reviewed that card yesterday, Sealeo's stage 2 evolution is Walrein and I'll be reviewing that card tomorrow.  Sealeo has a x2 weakness to metal type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a three colorless energy card retreat cost.  Sealeo does not have an Ability but it does have two moves, the first move is called Ice Ball and for two energy cards, one each of water and colorless, this move does 30 damage.  Sealeo's other move is called Aurora Beam and for three energy cards, two colorless and one water, this move does 40 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since this is a stage 1 Pokemon, you'll first have to evolve Spheal into Sealeo to use this card.  Like I said yesterday, you'll want to keep Spheal on the bench until you evolve it into Sealeo, once that happens I would still recommend keeping this Pokemon on the bench because it doesn't have a very high hp and neither of its moves can do much damage.  I would recommend getting three energy cards on Sealeo, evolving it into Walrein and then moving Walrein into the active Pokemon spot.  I would use Aurora Beam every turn if I had to put Sealeo into the active Pokemon spot, however I would not use this card if I didn't have to, and because of this, I would not include Spheal or Sealeo in a deck that I did not play to use Walrein in.  So you'll have to wait until tomorrow to know how many of each card from this line I would use in a deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 1 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is a horrible stage 1 Pokemon card.  It has a low hp, extremely high retreat cost, and two slow moves that don't do much damage at all. I would not recommend using this card at all unless you are specifically using it to get to Walrein.
