Lunatone -- Burning Shadows Pokemon Card Review

Lunatone Burning Shadows Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Lunatone from the Burning Shadows Pokemon Card Set.  Lunatone is a Basic, Fighting type Pokemon card with a HP of 90.  Lunatone has a x2 weakness to Grass type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two Colorless Energy card retreat cost.  This card's Ability is called Heal Block, it says that if you have Solrock in play, Pokemon can't be healed, both yours and your opponent's.  Besides the Ability, Lunatone has just one move called Lunar Blast, for two Energy cards, one each of Fighting and Colorless, this move does 30 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Lunatone is a Basic Pokemon card with no evolution forms, you'll only have to use this card in a deck if you want to use Lunatone.  With this being said, if you want to utilize this card properly, you're going to want to pair it with Solrock so you can prevent all Pokemon from being healed.  Besides the pretty awesome Ability, that a deck can certainly be built around, this card has just one believe average move.  So again, if you're aren't using this card for its Ability, you're playing the card wrong, without its Ability, it should not be used.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an average Basic Pokemon card from the Burning Shadows set.  This card is average solely based on its Ability, which I think is very intriguing, it also means you must use Solrock if you want to use this card's Ability.  Other than the Ability, this card is well below average overall, with a slow move that does below average damage.

Lunatone -- Pokemon X and Y Card Review

Lunatone Pokemon X and Y Card Review
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Lunatone from the X and Y Pokemon Card Set.  Lunatone is a basic, fighting type Pokemon card with an hp of 80.  It has a x2 weakness to grass type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost. Lunatone does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Double Draw, for one colorless energy card this move allows you to draw two cards.  Lunatone's second move is called Moonblast, this move requires two energy cards, one each of fighting and colorless, and does 20 damage plus any damage done to your Pokemon by your opponent during their next turn is reduced by 20.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Lunatone is a basic Pokemon card with a stage 1 evolution in Soltrock, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, you'll more than likely want to use this card with that Pokemon.  However, since I haven't reviewed that card yet, I'll just act as though I plan on using this card without its evolution.  So, on its own this card could easily be used in a fighting type deck if you're looking for that final basic Pokemon to use.  This card has a high hp so it will allow you to set up your benched Pokemon for awhile if you get Lunatone into the active Pokemon spot to start the game, and if you use Double Draw the first turn and Moonblast after that, you will have the potential to get evolution cards or energy cards you need with its first move and be able to do damage to the defending Pokemon with Lunatone's second move.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is a slightly above average basic Pokemon card from the X and Y set.  Even though this card is above average in my opinion it isn't that great that I am going to give it a 4 rating.  I do like that it has a high hp, low retreat cost and two moves.  Both moves are average but Moonblast's extra effect may help you late in the game if you have Lunatone in the active Pokemon spot, it may save you from getting knocked out.  So all in all, if you need a solid basic Pokemon card to use in your fighting type deck, this card should definitely be considered.

Lunatone -- Plasma Storm Pokemon Card Review

Lunatone Plasma Storm Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Lunatone from the Plasma Storm Pokemon Card Set.  Lunatone is a basic, fighting type Pokemon card with an hp of 90. It has a x2 weakness to grass type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a three colorless energy card retreat cost.  Lunatone's Ability is called Premonition, this Ability says that once per turn you can look at the top 2 cards of your deck and arrange them any way you like.  Besides the Ability, Lunatone just has one move called Rock Throw, this move requires two energy cards, one each of fighting and colorless, and does 30 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Lunatone is a basic Pokemon with no evolutions, you only have to use this Pokemon in your deck if you want to use this card.  With that being said, the main reason you'll want to use this card in your deck is for its Ability, that way, each turn you can check the top two cards on your deck and rearrange them to benefit you, so if you need an energy card you can move it in the first spot or perhaps you need a basic Pokemon card, you can then move that one ahead of whatever the top card on your deck is so that the next turn you play you'll draw the card you want.  So if you are using this card just for its Ability you'll want to keep Lunatone on the bench throughout the game, I would be weary of moving Lunatone into the active Pokemon spot because its retreat cost costs more than its only move (Rock Throw) does.  So if you plan on using this Pokemon in your deck, use only one, and more specifically this card can be used in almost any type deck if used only for its Ability.  Of course if you get this card in the active Pokemon spot you're going to want to use Rock Throw every turn.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an average basic Pokemon card from the Plasma Storm Pokemon Card set.  I particularly like this card's Ability and can definitely imagine only using this card for that.  Its only move is pretty good, slightly above average in fact, but because of its retreat cost being so high, I cannot give this card anything higher than an average rating.
