Lucario -- Burning Shadows Pokemon Card Review

Lucario Burning Shadows Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Lucario from the Burning Shadows Pokemon Card Set.  Lucario is a Stage 1, Fighting type Pokemon card, with a HP of 120. It has a x2 weakness to Psychic type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one Colorless Energy card retreat cost.  Stance is the name of this card's Ability and says that when you play Lucario from your hand to evolve one of your Pokemon, you may prevent all effects of attacks done to Lucario during your opponent's next turn.  Besides the Ability, the only move on this card is called Submarine Blow, for three Fighting Energy cards, this move does 120 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Lucario is a Stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Riolu into play (I reviewed Riolu from this set yesterday) and then evolve Riolu into Lucario.  If you read yesterday's review of Riolu, you'll know that it was an above average Basic Pokemon card overall.  The card had a HP of 70, which is good for a Basic Pokemon and it also had two moves, one that could do 10 damage for one Fighting Energy card, and another that could do 30 damage for two Fighting Energy cards.  Riolu is a solid starter type Pokemon, so you could easily use Riolu in the Active Pokemon spot a turn or two, then evolve it into Lucario, immediately preventing all damage done to Lucario and potentially using Submarine Blow and doing major damage.  Ideally, you would make it so that in your deck you have Max Elixir to get Riolu set up with lots of Energy, then when you evolve Riolu into Lucario, either have a Float Stone Trainer on the Active Pokemon or use Guzma to put Lucario in the Active Pokemon spot, that way you could do damage to the defending Pokemon but they couldn't do any damage in return.  This card also works well with Devolution Spray because you could then return Lucario to the Bench during your next turn, use that Trainer to devolve it, then repeat the strategy the next turn to get Lucario in the Active Pokemon spot.  I could see using this line the way Pikachu and Raichu from this set are used to Paralyze the defending Pokemon.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an above average Stage 1 Pokemon from the Burning Shadows set.  Despite just having one move that is slow to set up, I still would recommend at least looking at this line when building a Fighting type deck.  I really like both Riolu and Lucario from this set, and with things like Max Elixir, Strong Energy, Float Stone, and Guzma, you can end up doing major damage almost every turn and preventing your opponent from attacking at all.  Together, I would give these two cards a 4 out of 5 rating, they are very good overall.

Lucario 63/124 -- Fates Collide Pokemon Card Review

Lucario Fates Collide Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Lucario from the Fates Collide Pokemon Card Set.  This is the second Lucario card that I've reviewed from this set, the other was a fighting type Pokemon.  Lucario is a Stage 1, metal type Pokemon card, with an hp of 110. It has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to psychic type Pokemon, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Lucario does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Vacuum wave, for one metal energy card this move does 50 damage.  Lucario's second move is called Fight Alone and for two energy cards, one each of metal and colorless, this move does 30 damage plus 60 more damage for each Pokemon fewer you have in play than your opponent.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Lucario is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Riolu into play, there are actually two Riolo cards in this set which I've reviewed in the past, and evolve Riolu into Lucario.  If you read my reviews of Riolu from this set you'll know that I thought both cards were average overall, one card had a higher HP but could only do up to 20 damage per turn and the other had an average HP and could do up to 30 damage a turn, both cards had moves based on coin flips, but both could be used on their own.  So knowing this about the two Riolu cards from this set and looking at this Lucario, if you want to use this metal type card, you'll probably want to use the first Riolu card in this set since it requires colorless energy cards to attack as opposed to fighting type Pokemon.  It is a bit risky with this card, but you could do major damage every turn with Fight Alone if you limit the amount of Pokemon you have in play.  That is the main strategy I would use, only keep one Pokemon on your bench and use Fight Alone to do a huge amount of damage every turn.  Not only can that move does a lot of damage, it is pretty quick to use.  I actually like this card more than the other Lucario in this set, this card can just do major damage overall, both moves.  You really can't go wrong with either Lucario from this set, both have good HP and good moves.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an above average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Fates Collide set.  Other than being a metal type card instead of fighting, this card is very good overall.  It has a high HP, and two great moves.  Together with either Riolu card, I would give this line a 4 out of 5 rating, it is definitely one that should be considered.

Lucario 47/124 -- Fates Collide Pokemon Card Review

Lucario Fates Collide Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Lucario from the Fates Collide Pokemon Card Set.  This is the first of two Lucario cards I'll be reviewing from this set.  Lucario is a Stage 1, fighting type Pokemon card, with an hp of 110. It has a x2 weakness to psychic type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Lucario does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Beatdown, for one fighting energy card this move does 40 damage.  Lucario's second move is called Magnum Kick, for three energy cards, two colorless and one fighting, this move does 70 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Lucario is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Riolu into play, there are actually two Riolo cards in this set which I've reviewed the past two days, and evolve Riolu into Lucario.  Additionally, there are two Lucario cards in this set, this fighting type and a metal type one that I will be reviewing in a few weeks.  If you read my reviews of Riolu from this set you'll know that I thought both cards were average overall, one card had a higher HP but could only do up to 20 damage per turn and the other had an average HP and could do up to 30 damage a turn, both cards had moves based on coin flips, but both could be used on their own.  So knowing this about the two Riolu cards from this set and looking at this Lucario, this card fits well with either of the two Riolu cards, this card is somewhat quick on the attack and both moves it has can do above average damage.  So, if I were building a fighting type deck, I could see using a 1-1 line of this Pokemon family and starting the game with Riolu and evolving it into Lucario as soon as possible then using Beatdown or Magnum Kick, depending on how many energy cards you have on it.  I also like that Lucario has a low retreat cost which will allow you to easily retreat it if you start the game with it.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an above average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Fates Collide set.  There really isn't much for strategy with this card, it is a straight attacker, but I would recommend it for a fighting type deck.  Together with either Riolu from this set, I would give the line a 4 out of 5 rating.

Lucario #78/135 -- Plasma Storm Pokemon Card Review

Lucario Plasma Storm Pokemon Card Review
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Lucario from the Plasma Storm Pokemon Card Set.  This second of two consecutive Lucario cards I've reviewed from the Plasma storm set.  This Lucario is a stage 1, fighting type Pokemon card, with an hp of 100.  It has a x2 weakness to psychic type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  This Lucario card does have an Ability, its Ability is called Dual Armor and says that if you have any Metal energy cards attached to Lucario it is both a fighting and metal type Pokemon.  Besides the Ability, Lucario has only one move called Hurricane Kick, this move requires three energy cards, two colorless and one fighting, and does 60 damage plus 30 more damage for each prize card your opponent has taken.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Lucario is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get one of the two Riolu cards from this set into play (I reviewed both of those cards the past few days) and then evolve Riolu into Lucario.  If you read the past couple of reviews you'll know I thought both Riolu cards from this set were good, if you are going to use this Lucario card, I would actually recommend using the second Riolu card from this set because it is a little slower and can do more damage, and if you plan on using this card you want to keep Riolu on the bench anyways and start attaching energy cards to it so when you get Lucario in your hand you can evolve it right away and start using Hurricane Kick, but if you don't get Lucario in your hand right away, at least you'll have three energy cards on Riolu so you can do a fair amount of damage with that card with three energy cards.  You may want to include some metal energy cards in this deck to utilize Lucario's Ability, if Lucario has two types it can be super effective attacking against twice as many Pokemon. If I were to use this Lucario card in my deck, I would use a 2-1 line of Riolu and Lucario in a fighting type deck.  I would keep Lucario on the bench until the end of the game and put it in the active Pokemon spot as a last chance to win the game, the more prize cards your opponent has taken from you the better this card will perform.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is an average stage 1 Pokemon card and a very solid Pokemon card to include in your deck to make sure that you have one last option before you lose the game.  This card will give you a fighting chance to come back and win a game when you may be way down or your opponent only needs to knock out one Pokemon before you do.  So if I was building a fighting type deck, I would definitely include this card in that deck.  Overall, this Lucario card and either of the Riolu cards from this deck would get a 4 out of 5 rating.

Lucario #77/135 -- Plasma Storm Pokemon Card Review

Lucario Plasma Storm Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Lucario from the Plasma Storm Pokemon Card Set.  This is the first of two consecutive Lucario cards I'll be reviewing from this set.  Lucario is a stage 1, fighting type Pokemon card, with an hp of 90.  It has a x2 weakness to psychic type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Lucario does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move this card has is called Kick, this move requires two energy cards, one each of fighting and colorless, and does 30 damage.  Lucario's second move is called Mach Cross, this move requires three energy cards, two colorless and one fighting, and does 70 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Lucario is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get one of the two Riolu cards from this set into play (I reviewed both of those cards the past few days) and then evolve Riolu into Lucario.  If you read the past couple of reviews you'll know I thought both Riolu cards from this set were good, the first Riolu card from the set is quicker so I would recommend using it as a starter Pokemon, but if you would like to keep Riolu on the bench and evolve it into Lucario there, the second Riolu card from this set would work just as well.  Like I mentioned earlier, there are two Lucario cards in this set, in tomorrow's review I will compare both Lucario cards from this set.  So whichever Riolu card you decide to use, when you have at least two energy cards on it, evolve it into Lucario, that way you can use Kick right away, but you'll want to get three energy cards on Lucario as soon as possible so you can use Mach Cross every turn.  If I were to use the Riolu card numbered 75/135 I would use a 3-2 line, if I were to use the Riolu card numbered 76/135 I would use a 2-2 line in a fighting type deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is an above average stage 1 Pokemon card and a great Pokemon family to use in a fighting type deck.  I like that this card has a decent hp, low retreat cost, and two above average moves.  I like that both of Lucario's moves attack every turn guaranteed and that the max amount of energy cards you need to attach to Lucario is three.  Overall, I would give the Riolu cards and this Lucario card from the Plasma Storm set a 4 out of 5 rating.

Tomorrow's Pokemon Card:
