Lapras -- BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Review

Lapras BREAKpoint Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Lapras from the BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Set.  Lapras is a basic, water type Pokemon card with an hp of 120, it has a x2 weakness to metal type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Lapras does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Errand-Running, for one water energy card this move allows you to search your deck for a trainer card and put it into your hand.  Lapras's second move is called Water Splash and for three energy cards, two water and one colorless, this move does 80 damage plus 20 more damage if you get a heads when flipping a coin.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Lapras is a basic Pokemon with no evolutions, you only have to use this Pokemon in your deck if you want to use this card.  With that being said, most times, basic Pokemon you want to use as starter type Pokemon in a deck, but since Lapras requires three energy cards to attack and has a pretty high HP, I would suggest setting this card up on the bench, getting three energy cards on it, then moving it to the active Pokemon spot and using Water Splash every turn.  I am not a huge fan of Errand-Running, just because there are plenty of other ways to get a trainer card into your hand, I don't like using a move on this, but Water Splash is a well above average move that can be made even better if you get a heads when flipping a coin, so Trick Coin trainer may be a card you should use with this card.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an average, yet solid, Basic Pokemon card from the BREAKpoint set.  My only complaint about this card is that it takes awhile for it to actually do damage when attacking, but overall, this card is one that I would definitely consider using one of in a water type deck.

Lapras -- Pokemon X and Y Card Review

Lapras Pokemon X and Y Review
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Lapras from the X and Y Pokemon Card Set.  Lapras is a basic, water type Pokemon card with an hp of 110, it has a x2 weakness to metal type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Lapras does not have an Ability, but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Seafaring, this move requires one water energy card and lets you flip 3 coins, for each heads you get you can move a water energy card from your discard pile onto one of your benched Pokemon.  Lapras's second move is called Hydro Pump, this move requires two colorless energy cards and does 10 damage plus 20 more damage for each water energy card attached to Lapras.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Lapras is a basic Pokemon with no evolutions, you only have to use this Pokemon in your deck if you want to use this card.  With that being said, this card is a must have in any water type deck that has a Pokemon that discards a ton of energy cards.  All you would have to do, is put this card into the active Pokemon spot, use Seafaring a couple of turns and get some of those energy cards back.  I could definitely see myself using up to 2 of these cards in a deck, of course you'll want to just attach water energy cards to Lapras so Hydro Pump can at least do 50 damage per turn.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an above average basic Pokemon card from the X and Y set.  The first thing that jumps out at me with this card is the high hp it has and the somewhat low retreat cost.  This card can do major damage pretty quickly as a starter type Pokemon in your deck doing at least 50 damage per turn if you're using just water energy cards and can help you later in the game by getting energy cards from your discard pile back onto your bench.  So if you're building a water type deck and in need of a basic Pokemon, this Lapras card is definitely worth a look.

Lapras -- Plasma Blast Pokemon Card Review

Lapras Plasma Blast Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Lapras from the Plasma Blast Pokemon Card Set.  Lapras is a basic, water type Pokemon card with an hp of 100. It has a x2 weakness to metal type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Lapras does not have an Ability, but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Cleanse Away, for two energy cards, one each of water and colorless, this move heals 30 damage from each of your benched Pokemon.  Lapras's other move is called Surf, this move requires four energy cards, three colorless and one water, and does 70 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Lapras is a basic Pokemon with no evolutions, you only have to use this Pokemon in your deck if you want to use this card.  With that being said, I wouldn't include too many of these cards in a deck because the fastest Lapras can do any damage is four turns, and if you move Lapras into the active Pokemon spot to just use Cleanse Away, you're going to have to discard both of those energy cards when retreating.  I would include 1 Lapras card in a water type deck, during play, I would make a point to retreat most of my Pokemon before they are knocked out, then later in the game I would move Lapras into the active Pokemon spot, use Cleanse Away a turn or two, then retreat it.  Surf is about an average move, but I definitely wouldn't plan on using the move since it requires so many energy cards.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an average basic Pokemon card from the Plasma Blast set.  I do like that this Lapras card can quickly heal all of your Pokemon at once, but other than that, I don't like much else about this card.  It is a slow card overall, and has a high retreat cost for a basic Pokemon.  If you do choose to use this card in a deck, I wouldn't move it into the active Pokemon spot if the opposing Pokemon can do 50 or more damage per turn, because then you'd only be able to heal 30 damage from each of your Pokemon, instead of 60 damage if you could use it two turns in a row.
