Drifblim -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Drifblim Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Drifblim from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  Drifblim is a stage 1, psychic type Pokemon card, with an hp of 100. It has a x2 weakness to darkness type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to fighting type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Drifblim does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Eerie Wave, for two colorless energy cards, this move does 30 damage, plus it confuses the defending Pokemon.  Drifblim's second move is called Burst Curse, for two psychic energy cards, this move allows you to put 8 damage counters on your opponent's Pokemon in any way that you like, you just need to discard 2 energy cards attached to this Pokemon first.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Drifblim is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Drifloon into play (I reviewed Drifloon from this set yesterday) and then evolve Drifloon into Drifblim.  If you read yesterday's review of Drifloon, you'll know that I thought it was an average Basic Pokemon card.  Even though it couldn't be used as a starter type Pokemon in a deck, because it couldn't attack without damage on your own Pokemon first, I thought the card was still usable in a few different deck types, especially a spread attack deck.  So knowing this about Drifloon and looking at this Drifblim card, this is another card that works well in a spread attack type deck.  This card will take a while to set up since you have to discard energy every turn to do major damage, but I would load this card up with 4 energy cards, 2 Burning Energy and two psychic, that way, you could use Burst Curse every turn and you would discard the Burning Energy and of course with that energy you don't have to discard it.  Ideally, you would use Eerie Wave first, to potentially prevent the defending Pokemon from attacking and then use Burst Curse after that, knocking out your opponent's benched Pokemon that already have damage on them.  In a spread attack type deck, I would definitely recommend using a 1-1 line of this Pokemon family.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an above average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Steam Siege set.  This is a great card to use in a spread attack type deck, you can spread out 80 damage a turn for only two energy cards with this card, and if you don't have that much energy, you can also do 30 damage a turn plus confuse the defending Pokemon.  Together with Drifloon from this set, which I gave a 3 out of 5 rating, I would give these two cards a 3 out of 5 rating, it is definitely a line to consider for a spread attack type deck.

Drifblim -- Plasma Blast Pokemon Card Review

Drifblim Plasma Blast Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Drifblim from the Plasma Blast Pokemon Card Set.  Drifblim is a stage 1, psychic type Pokemon card, with an hp of 100.  It has a x2 weakness to darkness type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a free retreat cost.  Drifblim's Ability is called Drifting Balloon, this allows for each of your Pokemon attacks to require one colorless energy card less for each Team Plasma Pokemon card your opponent has in play.  Besides the Ability, Drifblim just has one move called Derail, this move requires three colorless energy cards and does 70 damage, plus you can discard a special energy card attached to the defending Pokemon.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Drifblim is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Drifloon into play (I reviewed Drifloon from this set yesterday) and then evolve Drifloon into Drifblim.  If you read yesterday's review, you'll know that I thought Drifloon was a below average Pokemon card because even though it had two moves and a good hp, overall the card was just not anything special and I would not recommend using it without this card.  So I would definitely use this Drifblim card in two specific types of decks.  The first deck would be a deck that is setup to counteract Team Plasma type decks, the second type of deck would be a deck that has a multitude of types in it, since this card requires colorless energy cards to attack, it will fit right in.  Regardless of the type of deck you use this card in, I would use a 2-2 line of Drifloon and Drifblim.  I would definitely keep one Drifblim on the bench to utilize its Ability, and then the other I would move in and out of the active Pokemon spot using Derail when possible.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 5 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a superb stage 1 Pokemon card from the Plasma Blast set.  There are a number of things I like about this card including its high hp, free retreat cost, and move.  This card is above average all around and definitely a great card to counteract Team Plasma heavy decks.  So if you're considering using this Drifblim card in your deck, I would highly recommend it.  So overall, I would give the line of Drifloon and Drifblim from this set a 4 out of 5 rating, Drifloon was a 2, Drifblim was a 5.

Drifblim -- Dragons Exalted Pokemon Card Review

Drifblim Dragons Exalted Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Drifblim from the Dragons Exalted Pokemon Card Set.  Drifblim is a stage 1, psychic type Pokemon card, with an hp of 100.  It has a x2 weakness to darkness type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Drifblim does not have an Ability but it does have two moves, the first move is called Shadow Steal and for one colorless energy card this move does 50 damage times the number of special energy cards in your opponent's discard pile.  Drifblim's second move is called Plentiful Placement which requires two energy cards, one each of psychic and colorless, and does 40 damage to one of your opponent's Pokemon of your choosing.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Drifblim is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll have to first put Drifloon on your bench and then evolve Drifloon into Drifblim.  There are two Drifloon cards from this set and I reviewed both of those cards the previous two days, both cards are good, but I would suggest the one numbered 49 so that that card can spread damage and then this card can spread damage too.  I would include this card in a psychic type deck that has other Pokemon that can spread damage around.  I would use Plentiful Placement all the time unless for some strange reason your opponent has a lot of special energy cards in their discard pile, then I would use Shadow Steal.  I would suggest using a 2-2 line of Drifloon and Drifblim in a psychic type deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is a slightly above average, stage 1 Pokemon card.  I like how it has an above average hp, low retreat cost, and one great move in Plentiful Placement, and one potentially great but more than likely useless move in Shadow Steal.  So I would definitely recommend using this Pokemon line in any psychic type deck.
