Clefable -- Guardians Rising Pokemon Card Review

Clefable Guardians Rising Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Clefable from the Guardians Rising Pokemon Card Set.  Clefable is a Stage 1, Fairy type Pokemon card, with a HP of 100. It has a x2 weakness to Metal type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to Darkness type Pokemon, and a one Colorless Energy card retreat cost.  Clefable does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move on this card is called Lullaby, for one Colorless Energy card, this move does 20 damage, plus it puts the defending Pokemon to Sleep.  Meteor Mash is the name of this card's second move, for three Energy cards, one Fairy and two Colorless, this move does 60 damage, plus during Clefable's next turn, this move does 60 additional damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Clefable is a Stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Clefairy into play (I reviewed Clefairy from this set yesterday) and then evolve Clefairy into Clefable.  If you read yesterday's review of Clefairy, you'll know that I thought it was an average Basic Pokemon card overall.  Although the card was limited overall, only doing a maximum of 10 damage per turn, the card did have two moves, a solid HP, and low retreat cost, and could be used as either a starter type Pokemon in a Fairy type deck, or as a way to spread damage around in a spread attack type deck.  Knowing this about Clefairy and looking at this Clefable card, it would make more sense to use this Pokemon line as starter type Pokemon, getting Clefable into the Active Pokemon spot the second turn into the game, doing 20 damage and then putting the defending Pokemon to sleep with Lullaby, therefore giving you time to set up your Benched Pokemon.  This card is also very powerful, doing 90 damage per turn on average if you set Clefable up on the Bench and use Meteor Mash every turn.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Guardians Rising set.  Similarly to Clefairy, this card has a solid HP, a low retreat cost, and two good moves.  I like how this card has a quick attack as well as one that does major damage after it is set up.  Together with Clefairy from this set, which I also thought was average and gave a 3 out of 5 rating, I would give both cards combined a 3 out of 5 rating, it is a solid line overall.

Clefable -- BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Review

Clefable BREAKpoint Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Clefable from the BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Set.  Clefable is a stage 1, fairy type Pokemon card, with an hp of 100. It has a x2 weakness to metal type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to darkness type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Clefable does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Moon Barrier, for one fairy type energy card this move does 30 damage, plus it prevents all effects of an attack from a dragon type Pokemon during your opponent's next turn.  Clefable's second move is called Tumbling Attack, for three energy cards, two colorless and one fairy, this move does 50 damage plus 30 more damage if you get a heads when flipping a coin.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Clefable is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Clefairy into play (I reviewed Clefairy from this set yesterday) and then evolve Clefairy into Clefable.  If you read yesterday's review of Clefairy, you'll know that I thought that card was an average Basic Pokemon card overall, since it had two attacks, a solid HP, and a low retreat cost, and could be used as a starter type Pokemon to help set up your benched Pokemon.  So knowing this about Clefairy and looking at this Clefable card, I think it would be better if using Clefable to keep this line on the bench and use it only if you're facing dragon type Pokemon, that way, you only have to put one energy card on this line and can prevent your opponent's attack's from doing any damage if you use Clefable into the active Pokemon spot and use Moon Barrier every turn.  Because it would be best to keep this line on the bench until it is needed, I would recommend only using a 1-1 line of this Pokemon family.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the BREAKpoint set.  To me, there aren't any negatives with this card, it has a solid HP, low retreat cost, and two, good, not great moves.  Combined with Clefairy with this set, I would give this line a 3 out of 5 rating, the same rating I gave to each card individually.

Clefable -- Furious Fists Pokemon Card Review

Clefable Furious Fists Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Clefable from the Furious Fists Pokemon Card Set.  Clefable is a stage 1, fairy type Pokemon card, with an hp of 90.  It has a x2 weakness to metal type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to darkness type Pokemon, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Clefable does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Follow Me, this move requires one colorless energy card and allows you to switch your opponent's active Pokemon with one of their benched Pokemon.  Clefable's second move is called Moonblast, this move requires two energy cards, one each of fairy and colorless, and does 30 damage, plus any damage done to Clefable during your opponent's next turn is reduced by 30.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Clefable is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Clefairy into play (there are two Clefairy cards in this set and I've reviewed both of them the past two days) and then evolve Clefairy into Clefable.  If you read the past two reviews I've done on Clefairy, you'll know that I thought both cards from this set were average.  I actually preferred the 1st of the two Clefairy cards slightly more because that card had two moves and could do more damage.  So knowing this about the two Clefairy cards from this set and looking at this Clefable card, if you're building a fairy type deck, I would definitely recommend taking a look at this Pokemon family and even using a 2-2 line of these Pokemon.  I would recommend getting this line into the active Pokemon spot early in the game and using Moonblast when you evolve Clefairy into Clefable.  And more than likely early in the game your opponent may not be able to do more than 30 damage so if you use Moonblast your opponent won't do any damage to you at all.  If you can't get this line into the active Pokemon spot early in the game, I would stick put two energy cards on Clefable on the bench and then when it is moved to the active Pokemon spot you could use Follow Me first to get a weaker Pokemon of your opponent's in the active Pokemon spot then use Moonblast after that.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is an above average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Furious Fists set.  This card doesn't really have anything that stands out, but I like everything on this card quite a bit, and a lot of little things that I liked added up to make this card an above average card.  I really like how Clefable can move whatever Pokemon of your opponent's it wants into the active Pokemon spot and how Moonblast reduces damage done to Clefable by 30.  Overall, I would give the line of Clefairy and Clefable from this set a 4 out of 5 rating, individually I gave both Clefairy cards a 3 and Clefable a 4.

Clefable -- Plasma Storm Pokemon Card Review

Clefable Plasma Storm Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Clefable from the Plasma Storm Pokemon Card Set.  Clefable is a stage 1, colorless type Pokemon card, with an hp of 90.  It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Clefable's Ability is called Moon Guidance and allows you to once per turn flip a coin, if you get a heads you can find a Pokemon in your deck that one of your Pokemon in play evolves into and evolve that Pokemon.  Besides the Ability, Clefable just has one move called Moon Impact, this move requires three colorless energy cards and does 50 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Clefable is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Clefairy into play (I reviewed Clefairy from this set yesterday) and then evolve Clefairy into Clefable.  If you read yesterday's review, you'll know that I thought Clefairy was a decent basic Pokemon card that could be used in a deck on its own and that you could move it into the active Pokemon spot right away.  With that being said, I would try and actually keep Clefairy on the bench if you're using it with Clefable so you can keep it on the bench for most of the game and just use Clefable's Ability.  That way you can include many stage 1 and stage 2 Pokemon in your deck and as long as you include 3 or 4 Clefairy cards and 3 or 2 Clefable cards in your deck, you should easily be able to get Clefable on your bench early in the game and use Moon Guidance several turns.  Of course, if you have Clefable in the active Pokemon spot your only choice will be to use Moon Impact every turn.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is an average stage 1 Pokemon card.  Even though Clefable's only move does below average damage for the amount of energy cards it requires, I'm still giving this card an average rating because I think Clefable's Ability more than makes up for its only move.  So if you find yourself building a deck with a lot of evolution cards in it, I would highly considering using this line in that deck.  Overall, I would give this line of Clefairy and Clefable from the Plasma Storm set a 3 out of 5 rating.
