Bisharp -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Bisharp from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  Bisharp is a Stage 1, metal and darkness type Pokemon card, with a HP of 100. It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to psychic type Pokemon, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Bisharp does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Retaliate and for one colorless energy card this move does 30 damage plus 60 more damage if any of your own Pokemon were knocked out during your opponent's last turn.  Bisharp's second move is called Mach Claw and for two energy cards, one each of darkness and colorless, this move does 60 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Bisharp is a Stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Pawniard into play (I reviewed Pawniard from this set yesterday) and then evolve Pawniard into Bisharp.  If you read yesterday's review of Pawniard, you'll know that I thought it was an average Basic Pokemon card overall.  Although it was quite limited without multiple Pawniard cards in a deck, the card still could attack for one energy card, had a low retreat cost, and a solid HP.  So knowing this about Pawniard and looking at this Bisharp card, the best strategy for both would be to get Bisharp into play as soon as possible, so I could see having a 2-2 line of this Pokemon family in a deck so you can start the game with Pawniard in the active Pokemon spot, do 20 damage for one energy card, then evolve into Bisharp the second turn and do 60 damage.  This is actually a spot where a Devolution Spray could be useful if you plan on always using Pawniard first before evolving into Bishop.  Multiple Switch trainer cards in a deck could help you quickly move Bisharp out of the active Pokemon spot one turn after doing 90 damage with Retaliate.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Steam Siege set.  I like that this card has an above average HP and two solid moves.  Both moves on this card are quick on the attack and both can do above average damage.  With Pawniard from this set, which I also gave a 3 rating, I would give these two cards combined a 3 out of 5 rating.  This is a line that should be considered when building a darkness type deck.

Bisharp -- Pokemon X and Y Card Review

Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Bisharp from the Pokemon XY Card Set.  Bisharp is a stage 1, metal type Pokemon card, with an hp of 90.  It has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to psychic type Pokemon, and a two colorless energy retreat cost.  Bisharp does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Metal Sound.  This move requires one metal energy card and confuses the defending Pokemon.  Bisharp's second move is called Metal Wallop, this move requires two energy cards, one each of colorless and metal, and does 40 damage.  After using Metal Wallop, during Bisharp's next turn the move does 80 damage instead of 40.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Bisharp is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Pawniard into play (I reviewed Pawniard from this set yesterday) and then evolve Pawniard into Bisharp.  If you read yesterday's review, you'll know that I thought Pawniard was an average basic Pokemon card that had one nice move that could do a little more than average damage but the move was on the slower side.  So I had said you could use that card on your own which you still can, but I would highly recommend using both Pawniard and Bisharp in a metal type deck together and would use up to a 3-2 line of them.  I would try and get Bisharp into the active Pokemon spot as early as possible in the game and use Metal Wallop every turn.  On average, this move should do 60 damage per turn for only two energy cards.  Plus, if you get this card out into the active Pokemon spot early enough it could prevent your opponent from attacking you if you confuse it or later in the game you could confuse the defending Pokemon and possibly have them knock themselves out.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is an above average stage 1 Pokemon card from the X and Y set.  Most things are pretty average on this card, hp, retreat cost, and two moves, but what makes this card above average is the fact that Metal Wallop can do up to 80 damage per turn for only two energy cards, this move is extremely quick and early in the game this move should be able to knock out most basic Pokemon in one turn.  Overall, I would give Pawniard and Bisharp from this set a 4 out of 5 rating, both cards are good but not great, but together they make a great team.

Bisharp #74/116 -- Plasma Freeze Pokemon Card Review

Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Bisharp from the Plasma Freeze Pokemon Card Set.  This is the second Bisharp card I've reviewed from this set.  This Bisharp card is a stage 1, darkness type Pokemon card, with an hp of 90.  It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to psychic type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Bisharp does not have an Ability, but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Cut Down, this move requires two colorless energy cards, and does 30 damage, plus if you get a heads when you flip a coin you can discard an energy card attached to the defending Pokemon.  Bisharp's second move is called Slicing Blade, this move requires three energy cards, two colorless and one darkness, and does 70 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Bisharp is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Pawniard into play (I reviewed both Pawniard cards from this set the past few days) and then evolve Pawniard into Bisharp.  If you read my Pawniard reviews you'll know that I thought both cards from this set are average and both can be used in a deck on their own, so when choosing which one to use with this Bisharp card, you'll have to think about wanting a safer or a riskier card to use.  So whichever Pawniard card you choose, I would initially recommend you use that Pawniard card with yesterday's Bisharp card since it is better than this one.  You can read my review on that card to see what I would do strategy wise.  But if you don't have that Bisharp card, and you only have this one, that is okay too.  In that case, I would use 2 Pawniard cards and 1 Bisharp card and try and evolve Pawniard into Bisharp on the bench get three energy cards on it and then move it to the active Pokemon spot and use Slicing Blade every turn.  This card isn't as fast as yesterday's card, that is why I'm suggesting evolving this line on the bench.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is an above average stage 1 Pokemon card.  Compared to yesterday's Bisharp card, this one is definitely a let down, but compared to most stage 1 Pokemon cards out there, this one is still above average.  This card still has a low retreat cost, and both of its moves do above average damage, but just not as well as yesterday's Bisharp card.  So again, if you're building a darkness type deck, I would suggest using the other Bisharp card from this set, but this card isn't that bad that it shouldn't be used if you have it.  So overall, I would give this Bisharp card and the Pawniards from this set a 4 out of 5 rating.

Bisharp #73/116 -- Plasma Freeze Pokemon Card Review

Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Bisharp from the Plasma Freeze Pokemon Card Set.  This is the first of two consecutive Bisharp cards I'll be reviewing from this set.  Bisharp is a stage 1, darkness type Pokemon card, with an hp of 100.  It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to psychic type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Bisharp does not have an Ability, but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Slash, this move requires one colorless energy card and does 40 damage.  Bisharp's second move is called Dragon Slayer, this move requires three energy cards, two darkness and one colorless, and does 80 damage plus 40 more damage if the defending Pokemon is a dragon type Pokemon.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Bisharp is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Pawniard into play (I reviewed both Pawniard cards from this set the past two days) and then evolve Pawniard into Bisharp.  If you read my Pawniard reviews you'll know that I thought both cards from this set are average and both can be used in a deck on their own, so when choosing which one to use with this Bisharp card, you'll have to think about wanting a safer or a riskier card to use.  So whichever Pawniard card you choose, I would definitely make sure to use this Bisharp card with it, I would have at least a 2-2 or 3-2 line of Pawniard and Bisharp in a darkness type deck.  You can move Pawniard into the active Pokemon spot immediately or wait until it is evolved into Bisharp, then use whichever move you can on Bisharp.  Because Slash is so quick, you'll want to try your hardest to get Bisharp into the active Pokemon spot a turn or two into the game.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 5 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is an above average stage 1 Pokemon card and one of the best stage 1 cards you can find in the Plasma Freeze set.  I like that Bisharp has a low retreat cost, high hp, and two very good, above average damage moves.  I like that Bisharp can attack very quickly and do a good amount of damage right away.  So if you're building a darkness type deck, I think that this Pokemon line should definitely be included in it.  So overall, this Bisharp card and either of the Pawniard cards would get a 5 out of 5 rating.
