Absol -- Guardians Rising Pokemon Card Review

Pokemon Card Overview:

Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Absol from the Guardians Rising Pokemon Card Set.  Absol is a Basic, Darkness type Pokemon card with a HP of 100.  Absol has a x2 weakness to Fighting type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to Psychic type Pokemon, and a one Colorless Energy card retreat cost.  Absol does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  Future Sight is this card's first move, for one Darkness Energy card, this move allows you to look at the top 4 cards of either player's deck and put them back in any order.  Doom News is this card's second move, for two Energy cards, one each of Darkness and Colorless, this move knocks out the Defending Pokemon at the end of your opponent's next turn if you move all Energy cards attached to Absol back into your hand.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Absol is a Basic Pokemon card with no evolution forms, you'll only have to use this card in a deck if you want to use Absol.  So knowing this, although this card is not guaranteed to do damage when attacking, I like both of its moves very well.  Future Sight can help your team either by setting up one of your Pokemon by having certain cards on the top of your deck, or you could hurt your opponent by rearranging the top 4 cards of their deck, and making the cards they want most come a few turns later.  Doom News is a very powerful move, ideally you would set Absol up on the Bench, then move Absol into the Active Pokemon spot to knock out a very powerful Pokemon, then use a Switch Trainer to retreat it for free after using Doom News one turn.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  So, in my opinion, this is an above average Basic Pokemon card overall.  Like I mentioned above, although this card can't do guaranteed damage when attacking, I am still a fan of this card overall.  It does have an above average HP, a low retreat cost, and two quick attacking moves.  I like how this card can be both a defensive and offensive card.  So if you're building a Darkness type deck, I would recommend seeing if this card has a place in your deck.

Absol -- Roaring Skies Pokemon Card Review

Pokemon Card Overview:

Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Absol from the Roaring Skies Pokemon Card Set.  Absol is a basic, darkness type Pokemon card with an hp of 100, it has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to psychic type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Absol's Ability is called Cursed Eyes and says that when you move Absol from your hand onto your bench, you may move 3 damage counters from one of your opponent's Pokemon to another of their Pokemon.  Besides the Ability, Absol only has one move called Mach Claw, this move requires two energy cards to use, one each of darkness and colorless, and does 30 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Absol is a basic Pokemon with no evolutions, you only have to use this Pokemon in your deck if you want to use this card.  With that being said, this card could either be used as a slower, more powerful starter type Pokemon in a darkness type deck by getting Absol into the active Pokemon spot early and using Mach Claw every turn, or in a spread damage type deck by putting Absol into play later in the game when the opponent's Pokemon all have damage on them, you can potentially then use Absol's Ability to knock out one of your opponent's Pokemon.  This Absol card is average at best, so I would not recommend using more than 1 of these in a deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an average Basic Pokemon card from the Roaring Skies set.  This card has a well above average HP and a low retreat cost.  I like Absol's Ability quite a bit even though you can only use it once.  The one move that Absol has is decent, but I would have really liked more from this card, overall it isn't bad, but it definitely could have been better.

Absol -- Plasma Freeze Pokemon Card Review

Pokemon Card Overview:

Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Absol from the Plasma Freeze Pokemon Card Set.  Absol is a basic, darkness type Pokemon card with an hp of 100. It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to psychic type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Absol does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Mind Jack, this move requires two energy cards, one each of darkness and colorless, and does 20 damage plus 20 more damage for each of your opponent's benched Pokemon.  Absol's second move is called Fearsome Shadow, this move does 60 damage for three energy cards, one darkness and two colorless, plus when using this move, your opponent must show all the cards they have in their hand.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Absol is a basic Pokemon with no evolutions, you only have to use this Pokemon in your deck if you want to use this card.  If you're building a darkness type or a Team Plasma type deck, you'll definitely want to use this card in that deck.  I would use Absol as a starter Pokemon in the deck, so I would put at least 2 of them in the deck.  I would try and get Absol into the active Pokemon spot as soon as possible, and get two energy cards on it as soon as possible.  Both of Absol's moves are better if used early in the game, Mind Jack, will do more damage the more benched Pokemon your opponent has, and Fearsome Shadow reveals your opponent's cards.  Both will take advantage of your opponent early in the game.  I would use whichever move on Absol does more damage each turn.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an above average basic Pokemon card from the Plasma Freeze Pokemon Card set.  I like that this card has a high hp, low retreat cost, and two very good moves.  Not only do both moves on this card do damage, but they each have a little something extra that they can do, that may prevent your opponent from doing certain things on their side.  So I would definitely recommend using this card in a deck, and you should definitely use this card in your deck.
