Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Togekiss from the Roaring Skies Pokemon Card Set. This is the second of the Togekiss cards I've reviewed from this set. Togekiss is a stage 2, fairy type Pokemon card, with an hp of 130. It has a x2 weakness to metal type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to darkness type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost. This Togekiss card has an Ancient Trait called Evolution that says you may evolve Togetic into Togekiss in the same turn that you put Togetic onto your bench. Besides the Ancient Trait, Togekiss also has an Ability called Serene Grace that says you may look at the top 8 cards in your deck and choose as many basic energy cards as you find in those 8 cards and attach them to your Pokemon in any way that you'd like. Besides the Ancient Trait and Ability, Togekiss just has one move, this move is called Fairy Wind and requires three energy cards to use, two colorless and one fairy, and does 60 damage.
Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Togekiss is a stage 2 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Togepi into play and then evolve it into Togetic before you can evolve Togetic into Togekiss, both of those Pokemon are from this set and I've reviewed both of them the last few days. If you've read my reviews of those cards you'll know that I thought both cards were below average, I gave Togepi a 1 out of 5 rating, mainly because of its extremely low HP but the one move it had did do average damage, but it also let the opponent draw a card. I gave Togetic a 2 out of 5 rating, this card also had a low HP, but it did have one decent move out of the two moves it had letting you move three energy cards from your discard pile back into your deck. So knowing this about the first two Pokemon in this line and also knowing there is another Togekiss card in this set which I reviewed yesterday, looking at this specific Togekiss, I would really recommend this card not as a Pokemon to put in the active Pokemon spot, but a Pokemon to keep on your bench the entire game. I would only include a 1-1-1 line of Togepi, Togetic, and Togekiss, then get Togekiss on the bench as soon as possible, also make sure to include ways of getting energy cards to the top of your deck, so when you use Togekiss' Ability, you'll have a majority of energy cards in those top 8 cards and you can then set up your Pokemon extremely fast. Besides the great Ability, the one move that this card has is average at best. So comparing the two Togekiss cards from this set, yesterday's card is better in my opinion if you want the potential to do major damage or to spread damage around, if you would rather get your Pokemon set up pretty fast and only be able to do average damage, this is the Togekiss card for you.
Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating. In my opinion this is an average Stage 2 Pokemon card from the Roaring Skies set. Like I said in the previous section, this card isn't as powerful as yesterday's Togekiss card, but I do like its Ability and the fact you can basically skip right over Togetic because of Togekiss' Ability. Just like yesterday, I am going to give this Pokemon line combined a 2 out of 5 rating, but overall this Togekiss is better with the other two Pokemon.
