Volbeat -- Primal Clash Pokemon Card Review

Volbeat Primal Clash Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Volbeat from the Primal Clash Pokemon Card Set.  Volbeat is a basic, grass type Pokemon card with an hp of 70.  It has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost. Volbeat does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Acrobatics, this move requires one grass energy card and does 10 damage, plus 20 more damage for each heads you get when you flip two coins.  Volbeat's second move is called Pester, this move requires two colorless energy cards and does 30 damage plus 30 more damage if the defending Pokemon is affected by a special condition.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Volbeat is a Basic Pokemon card with no evolution, you will only have to use this card in a deck if you choose to use it at all.  So knowing this about Volbeat and actually looking at this card, this card can definitely do some damage very quickly and for little energy, so if I were building a grass type deck, I would definitely give some consideration on using this card in a deck.  I would recommend using this card as a starter type Pokemon in your deck, so I would use 1 or 2 of these cards in a deck.  Of course I would want to get this card into the active Pokemon spot to start the game and use whichever move I had the required energy for.  You could always attack a Trick Coin tool card to Volbeat and get two opportunities to do up to 50 damage for only one energy card when using Acrobatics.  It would also be smart to have a Pokemon in your deck that inflicts special conditions so that Pester could do 60 damage a turn.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  So in my opinion, this is an above average Basic Pokemon card from the Primal Clash set, one that could be used as a starter type Pokemon in a grass type deck.  There really isn't anything to complain about on this card, it has an above average HP, low retreat cost, and two very solid moves, making the card above average overall and recommended for any grass type deck out there.
