Tyrantrum -- Furious Fists Pokemon Card Review

Tyrantrum Furious Fists Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Tyrantrum from the Furious Fists Pokemon Card Set.  Tyrantrum is a stage 1, fighting type Pokemon card, with an hp of 150.  It has a x2 weakness to gras type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a three colorless energy card retreat cost.  Tyrantrum does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Chew Up, for three energy cards, two colorless and one fighting, this move does 60 damage plus it does 30 more damage if your opponent's active Pokemon has any special energy cards attached to it.  Tyrantrum's second move is called Giga Impact and for four energy cards, two each of fighting and colorless, this move does 150 damage.  However you can't attack the turn after you use this move.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Tyrantrum is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Tyrunt into play (I reviewed Tyrunt from this set yesterday) and then evolve Tyrunt into Tyrantrum.  If you read yesterday's review of Tyrunt, you'll know that I thought that card was a below average Basic Pokemon card because neither move the card has was that great and because you need to use a Trainer card just to be able to get Tyrunt into play.  So knowing this about Tyrunt and looking at this Tyrantrum card, I would consider using one each of the cards you need for this line to work, so one Jaw Fossil, one Tyrunt, and one Tyrantrum.  I would then evolve Tyrunt into Tyrantrum on the bench and get four energy cards on it.  I would keep Tyrantrum on the bench until the opponent put an extremely powerful Pokemon into the active Pokemon spot, I would then move Tyrantrum into the active Pokemon spot and use Giga Impact hopefully knocking it out in that one turn.  After that instead of retreating it, I would stick with using Chew Up until you need to knock out a Pokemon in one turn again.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is an average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Furious Fists set.  There are definitely some positives to this card like its high HP and its ability to do 150 damage per turn, but since this move only works every other turn, it makes it a lot worse, plus adding in that the card requires at least 3 energy cards to attack and 3 energy cards to retreat, this card is average overall.  So together with Tyrunt I would give this Pokemon line a 3 out of 5 rating.  This line can do some major damage, but I wouldn't fear looking elsewhere when building a fighting type deck.
