Kommo-o GX -- Guardians Rising Pokemon Card Review

Kommo-o GX Guardians Rising Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Kommo-o GX from the Guardians Rising Pokemon Card Set.  Kommo-o GX is a Stage 2, Dragon type Pokemon card, with a HP of 240.  It has a x2 weakness to Fairy type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two Colorless Energy card retreat cost.  Kommo-o GX does not have an Ability but it does have three total moves, two regular moves and one GX move.  The first move on this card is called Adamantine Press, for one Colorless Energy card, this move does 30 damage, and during your opponent's next turn, Kommo-o GX takes 30 less damage from attacks.  Shred is the second move on this card, for four Energy cards, one each of Lightning and Fighting, and two Colorless, this move does 130 damage, plus this attack isn't affected by any effects on your opponent's Active Pokemon.  The GX move on this card is called Ultra Uppercut GX, for four Energy cards, one each of Lightning and Fighting, and two Colorless, this move does 240 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, first off, the way a Pokemon GX works is that it is used instead of a regular Kommo-o card, so if you have Hakamo-o in play, you evolve that Pokemon directly into Kommo-o GX.  In play, only one GX move can be used during the entire game, and once a Pokemon GX is knocked out, two prize cards are taken instead of one.  Since Kommo-o GX is a Stage 2 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Jangmo-o into play and then evolve it into Hakamo-o before you can evolve Hakamo-o into Kommo-o GX, both of those Pokemon are from this set and I've reviewed both of them in the past.  If you've read my reviews of those cards you'll know that I thought both cards were below average overall.  My thoughts on both cards were the same, if you weren't using them in a dual type Lightning and Fighting type deck, they weren't worth using.  The same can be said about this Kommo-o GX card, especially if you're looking to do major damage each turn, since both of this card's better move require one each of Lightning and Fighting type Energy cards.  Ideally, this entire line should be set up on the Bench, and you'll want to use a 1-1-1 line of this Pokemon family.  Ultra Uppercut GX should knock out almost all Pokemon in one move, so it is worth using as a GX move, other than that, 130 damage for four Energy cards is above average, but it is just the time it takes to set up this line that should be considered when building a deck, this line is slow to attack and requires lots of Energy cards.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this an average Stage 2, Pokemon GX card from the Guardians Rising set.  Like I mentioned above, if you're building a Lightning and Fighting type deck, this line fits in perfectly, otherwise, there is little reason trying to fit this card into a deck.  Together with Jangmo-o and Hakamo-o from this set, I would give this entire line a 2 out of 5 rating, but if used in a dual type deck, it is solid at the very least.

Stayed until 2 am just to read you xD I think I would avoid this line entirely, for me Jangmo-o's and Hakamo-o's underpoweredness is a deal breaker that wouldn't even make me consider it as a 1-1-1 line. Stage 2 that needs 4 energies to start making a difference is too much for me, as it seems very vulnerable to decks that sap your hand and energies.
