Bergmite -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Bergmite Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Bergmite from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  Bergmite is a basic, water type Pokemon card with an hp of 70.  It has a x2 weakness to metal type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Bergmite does not have an Ability, but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Ice Block and for one water energy card this move heals 30 damage from Bergmite.  Bergmite's second move is called Icy Snow and for two colorless energy cards this move does 20 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Bergmite is a basic Pokemon card with a stage 1 evolution in Avalugg, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, you'll more than likely want to use this card with that Pokemon.  However, since I haven't reviewed that card yet, I'll just act as though I plan on using this card without its evolution.  So, on its own, this card could be used as a starter type Pokemon in a deck if you're using a full set of Double Colorless energy cards, thus allowing Icy Snow to be used with one energy card.  Other than that, I think this card would be better suited to use with Avalugg and set it up on the bench.  I guess if you had a Pokemon that did damage to your own benched Pokemon, Avalugg could be useful there, since in the active Pokemon spot you could heal damage from it first with Ice Block then do 20 damage the next turn with Icy Snow.  Overall, I probably wouldn't use this card on its own, but wouldn't fault someone for using one.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  So in my opinion, on its own, without considering Avalugg, this is a slightly below average to average Basic Pokemon card from the Steam Siege set.  I like that this card has an above average HP and two moves.  I wish this card would have been able to attack right away, but like I said above, you could put a Double Colorless energy card on this card and attack right away.  So, in my opinion, this is an average Basic Pokemon card that could be used in a water type deck.
