Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Heliolisk from the Flashfire Pokemon Card Set. Heliolisk is a stage 1, lightning type Pokemon card, with an hp of 90. It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to metal type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost. Heliolisk does not have an Ability but it does have two moves. Its first move is called Parabolic Charge, this move requires one colorless energy card and allows you to search your deck for up to 2 energy cards, and put them into your hand. Heliolisk's second move is called Quick Attack, this move requires three energy cards, two colorless and one lightning, and does 60 damage, plus 30 more damage if you get a heads when you flip a coin.
Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Heliolisk is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Helioptile into play (I reviewed Helioptile from this set yesterday) and then evolve Helioptile into Heliolisk. If you read yesterday's review of Helioptile, you'll know that I thought that card was a below average Basic Pokemon card even though it had two moves and a good hp, but both of the moves on the card were below average and the card was quite limited without using it with an evolution. So knowing this about Helioptile and summarizing Heliolisk in the previous section, I wouldn't for sure use this Pokemon line in a deck, but if I did, I would only use a 1-1 line. I would try and get Helioptile into the active Pokemon spot to start the game, use that card for one turn doing 10 damage, then evolve it into Heliolisk the next turn, then get three energy cards onto Heliolisk and use Quick Attack every turn. This card definitely has the possibility to do a great amount of damage every single turn, so it definitely be good to have this card in your deck.
Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating. In my opinion this is an average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Flashfire set. I like the fact that this card has a low retreat cost, average hp, and two moves, with Quick Attack having the potential to do a ton of damage. So overall, this Pokemon line of Helioptile and Heliolisk from the Flashfire set get a 3 out of 5 rating from me, individually I gave the Pokemon a 2 and 3 ratings respectively. So if you're looking to add one more Pokemon line to your lightning type deck, you should definitely give this line a look.
