Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Vaporeon from the Plasma Freeze Pokemon Card Set. Vaporeon is a stage 1, water type Pokemon card, with an hp of 110. It has a x2 weakness to grass type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost. Vaporeon does not have an Ability but it does have two moves. The first move that this card has is called Refreshing Rain which requires one colorless energy card and heals 30 damage from all of your Pokemon in play. Vaporeon's second move is called Gold Breaker, this move requires two energy cards, one each of colorless and water, and does 30 damage plus 50 more damage if the defending Pokemon is an EX Pokemon.
Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Vaporeon is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Eevee into play, like I mentioned in earlier Eevee-evolution reviews from this set, there are actually two Eevee cards in this set but I have not reviewed either of them yet, you may also want to consider using one of the two Eevee cards from the Dark Explorers set, and then evolve Eevee into Vaporeon. Because I haven't reviewed either Eevee cards from this set yet I won't talk now about which one of those cards are best to use, but regardless of which one you use, if you want to use Vaporeon in a deck, it would be best to set up Vaporeon on the bench, that way you can have time to put two energy cards on it and prepare it to heal some damage for your Pokemon late in the game. So I would include 1 of these cards, so a 1-1 line of Eevee and Vaporeon in almost any type deck, and use the card in a deck that has Pokemon that have low or free retreat costs, that way you can attack with those other Pokemon first, retreat them for next to nothing, then move Vaporeon into the active Pokemon spot when most of your Pokemon have damage on them, and use Refreshing Rain a couple of turns to heal all of your Pokemon. You'll of course want to use Gold Breaker if you can knock out the defending Pokemon with 30 damage, but the main reason to use this card is for Refreshing Rain. So I would use Vaporeon until all of your Pokemon are fully healed and then retreat it back to your bench.
Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating. In my opinion this is an above average stage 1 Pokemon card. I like that this card has above average hp for a stage 1 Pokemon card, and an even higher hp if you consider that one of Vaporeon's moves heals 30 damage when used. I like both moves on this card, both are solid. The only thing I don't like about this card is its retreat cost which is a little high in my opinion but it doesn't make me not want to use this card in a deck.
