Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Chandelure from the Plasma Freeze Pokemon Card Set. Chandelure is a stage 2, fire type Pokemon card, with an hp of 130. It has a x2 weakness to water type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost. Chandelure's Ability is called Flare Navigate, this Ability allows you once per turn to move a fire energy card from your deck onto one of your Pokemon, however if you choose to do this you must put a damage counter on this Pokemon as well. Besides the Ability, Chandelure has one move called Absorb Life, this move requires three energy cards, two fire and one colorless, and does 70 damage, plus this move also heals 30 damage from Chandelure.
Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Chandelure is a stage 2 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Litwick into play and then evolve it into Lampent before you can evolve Lampent into Chandelure, both of those Pokemon are from this set and I've reviewed both of them the last couple of days. The first two Pokemon in this line from Plasma Freeze are not very good at all, and I actually gave them a 1 out of 5 rating together. So with that in mind, if I were to use this card in a fire type deck, I would use a minimal amount of Litwick and Lampent, I would definitely not use more than 2 of either of those Pokemon. I would then try and evolve those Pokemon into Chandelure on the bench, that way I could take advantage of Chandelure's Ability which will help slower Pokemon, with high hp, and high attack costs, attack more quickly. I would put 1 or 2 Chandelure cards in a deck. Once you do get three energy cards on Chandelure it is a good Pokemon to put in your active Pokemon spot because it can do above average damage every turn as well as heal itself with Absorb Life.
Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating. In my opinion this is an above average stage 2 Pokemon card from the Plasma Freeze Pokemon card set. I think this card is above average because both its Ability, Flare Navigate, and its only move Absorb Life, are above average. Now, only if its hp and retreat cost would be better this card would have gotten a five. However, even though this card is pretty good, the entire line of Litwick, Lampent, and Chandelure from the Plasma Freeze set is not even average, I would give all three cards a cumulative 2 out of 5 rating.
