Sharpedo EX -- Primal Clash Pokemon Card Review

Pokemon Card Overview:

Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Sharpedo EX and Sharpedo EX Full Art from the Primal Clash Pokemon Card Set.  Sharpedo EX is a basic, EX, darkness type Pokemon card with an hp of 170. It has a x2 weakness to lightning type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Sharpedo does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Hunt, this move requires two energy cards to use, one each of darkness and colorless, and allows you to switch one of your opponent's benched Pokemon with their active Pokemon and do 30 damage to that new Pokemon.  Sharpedo's second move is called Jagged Fang, this move requires three energy cards to use, two darkness and one colorless, and does 100 damage, however both Sharpedo and the defending Pokemon must discard an energy card after use.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, because Sharpedo EX is a basic Pokemon card you won't need to use any other cards with this card.  But remember, because this card is an EX card, if this card is knocked out, two prize cards are taken instead of one.  So knowing this about Sharpedo EX, I would definitely consider using one of these cards in a deck if you're building a darkness type deck or a spread damage type deck.  If you're building a spread damage type deck, Sharpedo's Hunt move would work perfectly since you could not only choose the weakest Pokemon to attack or a Pokemon to knock out, but you could prevent your opponent from attacking for a few turns if you move a Pokemon that isn't set up at all into the active Pokemon spot.  Outside of a spread damage type deck, if you get several energy cards on Sharpedo on the bench before moving it into the active Pokemon spot, you could do 100 damage a turn using Jagged Fang multiple turns in a row, plus again making your opponent unable to attack by discarding an energy card on that defending Pokemon.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an above average EX Pokemon card from the Primal Clash set, and one that I recommend using in either a spread damage or darkness type deck.  There really isn't much to not like about this card, other than that it has a little lower HP than most EX cards, other than that, it has a low retreat cost, and two quick, pretty powerful moves.  So you really can't go wrong with your deck by putting one of these Sharpedo EX cards in it.
