Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Zebstrika from the Next Destinies set. This is a stage 1, electric type Pokemon card, with an hp of 90. It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a free retreat cost. Zebstrika doesn't have an Ability but it does have two moves, the first move is called Disconnect and for two energy cards, one each of colorless and electric, Zebstrika does 40 damage and prevents your opponent from playing any Item cards their next turn. Zebstrika's second move is called Lightning Crash and takes three energy cards, two electric and one colorless, to do 80 damage to one of your opponent's Pokemon. However you must discard all electric energy cards attached to Zebstrika after attacking.
Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Zebstrika is a stage 2 Pokemon card, you'll want to set it up on your bench before putting it into the active Pokemon spot. Once you get three energy cards attached to Zebstrika, I would recommend putting it in when you can for sure knock out a Pokemon by doing 80 damage to it, I would put Zebstrika in, use Lightning Crash and retreat it the next turn for free. I would also make sure to include more than electric type energy cards in the deck I'm using Zebstrika in so it won't take so long to refill Zebstrika with energy cards after using Lightning Crash.
Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating. In my opinion, this just isn't a very good card, it would be a one out of five if it had a retreat cost but since it has a free retreat cost, I bumped up the rating by one. There just isn't anything about this card that stands out to me, and with all of these outlandishly good cards in the newer sets this one isn't worth putting in a deck.
Tomorrow's Pokemon Card:
So thanks for reading today's Pokemon card review of Zebstrika from the Next Destinies set, stay tuned for tomorrow's card review of Zekrom from the same set.
