Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Rocket’s Suicune ex from the EX Team Rocket Returns set. This is a basic, dark type Pokemon card, with an hp of 100. It has a x2 weakness to electric type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost. Suicune’s Poke-Body is called Dark and Clear and says that as long as Suicune has a darkness energy card attached to it, Suicune can’t be affected by special conditions. Besides the Poke-Body, Suicune has two moves, the first move is called Icy Wind which does 10 damage and puts the defending Pokemon asleep for one colorless energy card. Suicune’s second move is called Hyper Splash which does 50 damage for three energy cards, two water and one colorless, plus this move does 40 more damage if you are attacking a stage 2 evolved Pokemon.
PrimetimePokemon's Take:
Contrasting yesterday’s Snorlax ex card review, I like this card very much. I like how it can do major damage against evolved Pokemon, doing 90 damage a turn for only three energy cards is amazing, especially since this card is older and older cards are usually weaker. I would consider putting a darkness energy card on Suicune but it won’t matter much if your opponent doesn’t inflict special conditions. This card’s artwork reminds me of Scizor ex and the icicles in the background of the card, it looks very cool…and cold. I know for sure that I have this card in my collection.
Pokemon Card Price:
This card sells on eBay for around $20, on Professor-Oak it sells for $25 and $59.99 on PokeOrder.
