Clawitzer BREAK -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Clawitzer BREAK Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Clawitzer BREAK from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  The way a BREAK card works is that you place it on top of the Pokemon with the exact name, so this card would be placed on top of Clawitzer, so basically this card is a Stage 2 card.  It is placed horizontally on the card it evolves from and can use that Pokemon's Abilities and Attacks as well as what is on the BREAK card.  Clawitzer BREAK is a BREAK (essentially a Stage 2), water type Pokemon card, with an hp of 130.  It has the same weakness, resistance and retreat cost as the Clawitzer you're evolving it from.  Clawitzer BREAK does not have an Ability and it only has one moved called Lock On, which for one colorless energy card makes your opponent's active Pokemon unable to retreat during their next turn, and it increases damage from attacks on them by 120.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Clawitzer BREAK is a stage 2 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Clauncher into play and evolve it into Clawitzer before you can evolve Clawitzer into Clawitzer BREAK.  I have reviewed both Clauncher and Clawitzer from this set previously and if you've read those reviews you'll know that I thought both cards were average to slightly below average, Clawitzer of course being the card you wanted in the active Pokemon spot since it could do 60 damage a turn, without coin flips, and it also helped out Mega EX cards in your deck.  So knowing this about the first two Pokemon in this line and looking at this BREAK card, if you're building a water type deck and have Mega EX cards in it, definitely include this BREAK card with the Clauncher, Clawitzer line, it makes Clawitzer from this set do 180 damage in one turn, if you use Lock On then Crabhammer, so it can definitely take down the most powerful, and highest HP Pokemon out there.  So, if you're looking for some major power, and can guarantee that Clawitzer BREAK won't get knocked out before attacking, definitely include a 1-1-1 line of this Pokemon family in a deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is an average BREAK card from the Steam Siege set.  Even though this card can't do any damage when attacking, I like pairing this card with the Clawitzer from this set and 180 damage in one turn.  But if you want a quicker attack, and a higher damage attack every turn, there are still better cards out there to use.  Overall, I would give this entire line from the Steam Siege set a 3 out of 5 rating.  It is a line that would work well in a deck, but it definitely isn't a necessary line to use.

Clawitzer -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Clawitzer Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Clawitzer from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  Clawitzer is a stage 1, water type Pokemon card, with an hp of 100. It has a x2 weakness to grass type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Clawitzer's Ability is called Mega Boost and says that once per turn, you may attach a Special Energy card from your hand to one of your Mega Evolution Pokemon in play.  Besides the Ability, Clawitzer just has one move called Crabhammer, this move does 60 damage for three energy cards, two colorless and one water.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Clawitzer is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Clauncher into play (I reviewed Clauncher from this set yesterday) and then evolve Clauncher into Clawitzer.  There is a Clawitzer BREAK card in this set and I'll be reviewing it tomorrow.  If you read yesterday's review of Clauncher, you'll know that I thought it was a slightly below average Basic Pokemon card.  It was pretty solid overall, with a good HP, low retreat cost, and a quick move, but the card was limited overall, and the only move it had depended on two coin flips.  So knowing this about Clauncher and looking at this Clawitzer card, if you want to use this card purely for its Crabhammer move, that is an okay idea, it is an average move at best, but deals a fair amount of damage, if Clauncher would have been better I could have recommended this route.  But, without knowing what Clawitzer BREAK looks like, the way you'd want to use this card in a deck is if you're using Mega EX Pokemon and if you're using a full set of a Special Energy card, like a Double Colorless energy or Burning Energy, if you're not doing both of those things, there is no reason to use this card in a deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Steam Siege set.  Other than being slow on the attack, and having an Ability that won't work unless you are using Mega EX and Special Energy cards, this card is solid overall.  It has an average HP, low retreat cost, and an average move, plus an Ability.  Like I said in the strategy section of this post, I probably wouldn't use this card without the BREAK form, but this card isn't terrible.  Together with Clauncher from this set, I would give the two cards a 2 out of 5 rating.

Tomorrow's Pokemon Card:

Clauncher -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Clauncher Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Clauncher from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  Clauncher is a basic, water type Pokemon card with a HP of 60.  It has a x2 weakness to grass type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Clauncher does not have an Ability and it only has one move called Double Pincers, for one water energy card this move does 10 damage times the number of heads you get when you flip a coin.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Clauncher is a basic Pokemon card with a stage 1 evolution in Clawitzer, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, you'll more than likely want to use this card with that Pokemon.  However, since I haven't reviewed that card yet, I'll just act as though I plan on using this card without its evolution.  So, on its own, this card should not be used.  The main reason I say this is because the only move it does have is based off of two coin flips, meaning, you may get this card into the active Pokemon spot and it is unable to do any damage at all.  Ideally, you could put this card into the active Pokemon spot, attach a Trick Coin trainer card to it, and use Double Pincers until you can evolve Clauncher, but on its own, I would not recommend using this card.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  So in my opinion, on its own, without considering Clawitzer, this is a below average Basic Pokemon card.  If you flip two heads when using Double Pincers, this card would work well as a starter type Pokemon, but without some luck, you may end up doing zero damage every turn and get nothing out of your active Pokemon.  So, if you are not using Clawitzer in your deck, I would much rather use a water type Pokemon that is guaranteed to do 10 damage a turn for one energy card instead of one that could do 20 damage, 10 damage, or 0 damage every turn.

Tomorrow's Pokemon Card:

Samurott -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Samurott Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Samurott from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  Samurott is a stage 2, water type Pokemon card, with an hp of 140.  It has a x2 weakness to grass type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Samurott does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Ultimate Blade, for two energy cards, one each of water and colorless, this move does 40 damage, plus if the damage from this attack makes your opponent have 60 HP or less, that Pokemon is knocked out.  Samurott's second move is called Pike and for three energy cards, two water and one colorless, this move does 90 damage, plus this move does 30 damage to one of your opponent's benched Pokemon.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Samurott is a stage 2 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Oshawott into play and then evolve it into Dewott before you can evolve Dewott into Samurott, both of those Pokemon are from this set and I've reviewed both of them the last two days.  If you've read my reviews of those cards you'll know that I thought both were slightly below average cards.  Oshawott was solid overall, other than the fact its only move required two energy cards to use, so it couldn't be used as a starter type Pokemon.  Dewott, was pretty similar, but the negative on that card is that it couldn't do much more damage than Oshawott even though it was a Stage 1 card.  So knowing how the first two Pokemon in this line fair and then looking at Samurott, if you're building a water type deck, or a spread attack type deck, I would highly recommend using this line.  Of course the best line of attack would be setting up this line on the bench, spreading some damage around with your active Pokemon and then moving Samurott to the active Pokemon spot.  You can then either knock out the active Pokemon and do damage to a benched Pokemon with Pike, or, one by one, use Ultimate Blade to take down Pokemon that already have a fair amount of damage on them.  I would consider using a 1-1-1 line of this Pokemon family in a deck, and setting it up on the bench, I would not recommend putting either of Oshawott or Dewott in the active Pokemon spot.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a very good Stage 2 water type Pokemon card from the Steam Siege set.  To me, this is a perfect card to use in a spread attack type deck, or if you're looking for some power.  I really like both of Samurott's moves, both can do above average damage and both moves are fairly quick on the attack.  Together with Oshawott and Dewott from this set, which I gave 2 ratings, I would give this entire line a 3 out of 5 rating.

Dewott -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Dewott Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Dewott from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card set.  Dewott is a stage 1, water type Pokemon card, with an HP of 90.  It has a x2 weakness to grass type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Dewott does not have an Ability and only has one move.  The only move that this card has is called Razor Shell and for two energy cards, one each of water and colorless, this move does 30 damage plus 20 more damage if you get a heads when flipping a coin.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Dewott is a Stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Oshawott into play (I reviewed Oshawott from this set yesterday) and then evolve Oshawott into Dewott.  Dewott does have a Stage 2 evolution in Samurott, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, that you'll probably want to use with this Pokemon line but since I haven't reviewed that card yet, the strategy below will act like Dewott is the final evolution in this line.  So if you read my review of Oshawott, you'll know that I thought it was a slightly below average Basic Pokemon card.  As far as stats go, it was good, it had a solid HP, low retreat cost, and one good move, but because the one move it did have required two energy cards to use opposed to one, the card wasn't the best starter type Pokemon and I couldn't recommend it.  So knowing this about Oshawott and looking at this Dewott card, this card is a little better than that card because it has a high HP, and has the potential to do 20 more damage than Oshawott.  But, does this difference, make it necessary to use Dewott without Samurott in a deck, definitely not.  So, unless you're using the full line of this Pokemon family, pass on both Oshawott and Dewott.  If you do use this card in a deck, since Dewott has only one move, you'll want to attach a Trick Coin trainer to this card to give you a better chance at doing more damage.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a slightly below average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Steam Siege set.  Although this card has a solid HP, and one good move, this card is just too limited overall to make me want to use it in a deck.  You don't want to be playing such a limited card and waste two energy a turn to only do 30 damage.  So together with Oshawott from this set, which I gave a 2 out of 5 rating, I would give both of these cards combined a 2 out of 5 rating, I cannot recommend using them without Samurott.

Oshawott -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Oshawott Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Oshawott from the Steam Siege set.  Oshawott is a basic, water type Pokemon card with an HP of 60.  It has a x2 weakness to grass type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Oshawott does not have an Ability and it only has one move called Water Gun which does 30 damage for two energy cards, one each of water and colorless.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Oshawott is a basic Pokemon card with a Stage 1 evolution in Dewott, and a Stage 2 evolution in Samurott, which I'll be reviewing the next couple of days, you'll more than likely want to use some of those Pokemon with this card, however, since I have not reviewed any of those cards yet, I will just act like Oshawott does not have any evolution forms and that it will be used on its own.  On its own, I wouldn't recommend using this card in a deck, mainly because the only move it has requires two energy cards to attack, making this card not that useful as a starter type Pokemon.  The good thing with this card however is that when you're attacking, the retreat cost is not higher than its attack cost, like the Shellos card from two days ago was.  So, on its own, I cannot recommend using this card, but with the rest of the Pokemon in this line, this is a good start.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is a below average Basic Pokemon card from the Steam Siege set.  Really the only knock on this card is that it takes two energy cards to attack instead of one, but other than that, the move it does have does solid damage, Oshawott has an average HP, and a low retreat cost, so it definitely isn't the worst card out there, but I wouldn't use it on its own.

Gastrodon -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Gastrodon Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Gastrodon from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  Gastrodon is a stage 1, water type Pokemon card, with an hp of 110. It has a x2 weakness to grass type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Gastrodon does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Sticky Shot, for one water energy card this move does 20 damage, plus it makes the defending Pokemon's attack cost and retreat one colorless energy card more during your opponent's next turn.  Gastrodon's second move is called Water Pulse and for three water energy cards this move does 60 damage, plus it puts the defending Pokemon to sleep.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Gastrodon is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Shellos into play (I reviewed Shellos from this set yesterday) and then evolve Shellos into Gastrodon.  If you read yesterday's review of Shellos, you'll know that I thought it was a slightly below average Basic Pokemon card overall.  It had an above average HP and could attack for only one energy card, but the card was very limited, with only one move and a higher retreat cost than attack cost.  So knowing this about Shellos and looking at this Gastrodon card, I could see using a 1-1 line of this Pokemon family in a water type deck.  You could even start the game with Shellos in the active Pokemon spot, then evolve it the next turn and use Gastrodon's Sticky Shot move, making Gastrodon's already high HP, seem ever higher.  Water Pulse is an average move, damage wise, but if you get this card into the active Pokemon spot early in the game and get the defending Pokemon to sleep, it will give you lots of time to set up your benched Pokemon.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is a very solid Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Steam Siege set.  If you're building a water type deck, I would definitely recommend this line for it.  Both Pokemon in this line are quick on the attack, and this Gastrodon card makes it easier for you to set up your benched Pokemon.  Together with Shellos, I would give these two Pokemon a 3 out of 5 rating.

Shellos -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Shellos Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Shellos from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  Shellos is a basic, water type Pokemon card with an hp of 70.  It has a x2 weakness to grass type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Shellos does not have an Ability and it only has one move called Rain Splash that does 10 damage for one water energy card.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Shellos is a basic Pokemon card with a stage 1 evolution in Gastrodon, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, you'll more than likely want to use this card with that Pokemon.  However, since I haven't reviewed that card yet, I'll just act as though I plan on using this card without its evolution.  So, on its own, although this card could be used as a starter type Pokemon since it can attack for only one energy card and it has an above average HP, without Gastrodon, I wouldn't use this card in a deck.  I say this because the retreat cost on Shellos is higher than its attack cost, so you would either have to use a Switch trainer to retreat it for free, or you would have to waste an additional energy card just to retreat it.  Plus, later in games, being able to do 10 damage a turn, won't do much for you.  So my opinion on this card is that it would be a fine start to the line if you're using Gastrodon, but on its own, I would recommend looking elsewhere.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  So in my opinion, on its own, without considering Gastrodon, this is a slightly below average Basic Pokemon card.  Like I mentioned above, this card has a good HP, and a quick attacking move, but this card is very limited in what it can do overall and has a high retreat cost, so unless you need this card to get to Gastrodon, look elsewhere for a starter water type Pokemon for your deck.

Mantine -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Mantine Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Mantine from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  Mantine is a basic, water type Pokemon card with an hp of 100, it has a x2 weakness to lightning type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to fighting type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Mantine does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Healing Wave and for one water energy card this move allows you to heal 10 damage from this card for each card you discard from your hand.  Mantine's second move is called Dwindling Wave and for three water energy cards this move does 90 damage minus 10 damage for each damage counter on Mantine.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Mantine is a basic Pokemon with no evolution forms, you only have to use this Pokemon in your deck if you want to use this card.  With that being said, you'll definitely want to use this card solely in a water type deck if you want to use it since it requires only water energy cards to attack.  With that being said, you'll want to set this card up on the bench so you can get three water energy cards on it so you can for sure do 90 damage with Dwindling Wave the first turn it is in the active Pokemon spot, after that, using Healing Wave to remove damage from Mantine and continue to do 90 damage a turn with Mantine.  I could only see using this card if you know of a quick way to retrieve cards from your discard pile, otherwise, Dwindling Wave will dwindle or you'll run out of cards in your hand pretty quickly and not be able to get anything set up.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a below average Basic Pokemon card from the Steam Siege set.  I do like that this card has a solid HP, two moves, and a low retreat cost.  But because this card requires three energy cards for doing damage when attacking and the fact this card's main move loses damage pretty much every turn, there are only very specific scenarios where it even makes sense to use this card.  So, if you're building a water type deck, this card is worth a brief look, but it definitely isn't a card that needs to be in a deck.

Volcanion EX -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Volcanion EX Steam Siege
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Volcanion EX from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  Volcanion EX is a basic, EX, fire and water dual type Pokemon card with an hp of 180. It has a x2 weakness to water type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a three colorless energy card retreat cost.  Volcanion EX's Ability is called Steam Up and says that once per turn you may discard a fire energy card from your hand, if you decide to do that before attacking, each of your Basic, fire type Pokemon's moves do 30 damage more during that turn.  Besides the Ability, Volcanion EX has just one move called Volcanic Heat, for three energy cards, two fire and one colorless, this move does 130 damage, however Volcanion can't attack during its next turn.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, because Volcanion EX is a basic Pokemon card you won't need to use any other cards with this card.  But remember, because this card is an EX card, if this card is knocked out, two prize cards are taken instead of one.  So knowing this about Volcanion EX, the main reason you'll want to use this card is to take advantage of its Ability, so you don't even have to put this card into the active Pokemon spot to have it benefit your deck.  Because of this, I would only use one of these in a deck, and not put any energy cards on it or anything.  You can then include an abundance of fire type Pokemon in your deck, and including Volcanion from this set is a great idea since it can retrieve fire energy cards from your discard pile.  So Steam Up is a great Ability and even though Volcanic Heat isn't that great of move, since it essentially does 65 damage a turn, it is still good enough if you have to use it while in the active Pokemon spot.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is a solid but nothing more than average EX Pokemon card from the Steam Siege set.  Like I mentioned above, I really like this card's Ability and the fact you don't have to put it into the active Pokemon spot for it to be effective.  Pair it with the Volcanion from this set or another card that can retrieve fire energy cards from the discard pile, and this card is even better.  So if you're building a fire deck type, I would recommend using one of these cards in that deck.

Volcanion -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Volcanion Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Volcanion from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  Volcanion is a basic, fire type Pokemon card with an hp of 130, it has a x2 weakness to water type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Volcanion does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Power Heater, for one fire energy card this move does 20 damage, plus it allows you to move 2 fire energy cards from your discard pile and put one each on two of your benched Pokemon.  Volcanion's second move is called Steam Artillery and does 100 damage for three fire energy cards.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Volcanion is a basic Pokemon with no evolution forms, you only have to use this Pokemon in your deck if you want to use this card.  With that being said, on its own, this card is a must have for any fire type deck out there.  You can use four of these in a deck and use them as starter type Pokemon since Power Heater only requires one energy card, or you can set them up on the bench and do 100 damage every single turn.  What I like best about this card is the fact it helps set up your benched Pokemon while attacking and that you don't have to worry about discarding fire energy cards since you can get them back eventually anyway.  So again, if you're building a fire type deck, I would highly recommend this card.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 5 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is one of the best cards I've reviewed from the Steam Siege set so far.  There really aren't any negatives to this card.  It has a high HP, low retreat cost, and two great moves, one for early in the game and one for later in the game, you really just can't beat not using this card in a fire type deck.

Pyroar BREAK Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Pyroar BREAK from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  The way a BREAK card works is that you place it on top of the Pokemon with the exact name, so this card would be placed on top of Pyroar, so basically this card is a Stage 2 card.  It is placed horizontally on the card it evolves from and can use that Pokemon's Abilities and Attacks as well as what is on the BREAK card.  Pyroar BREAK is a BREAK (essentially a Stage 2), fire type Pokemon card, with an hp of 160.  It has the same weakness, resistance and retreat cost as the Pyroar you're evolving it from.  Pyroar BREAK does not have an Ability and it only has one moved called Kaiser Tackle, for three energy cards, two fire and one colorless, this move does 180 damage, however Pyroar does 50 damage to itself.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Pyroar BREAK is a stage 2 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Litleo into play and evolve it into Pyroar before you can evolve Pyroar into Pyroar BREAK.  I have reviewed both Litleo and Pyroar from this set previously and if you've read those reviews you'll know that I thought Litleo was below average because it only had one move and that move required two energy cards to attack and was based off of a coin flip, but I did like Pyroar very well, it had two powerful moves and a high HP.  So knowing this about the first two Pokemon in this line and looking at this BREAK card, if you're already using a 1-1 line of Litleo and Pyroar in your deck, I would highly recommend using 1 of this card, just because it ups the HP of Pyroar and it gives you a lot more one hit knock out potential.  I would mainly stick to the moves on Pyroar since they don't do any damage to Pyroar, but if you're facing an EX or Mega EX, I would definitely use Kaiser Tackle and for sure knock them out in two moves or less.  If you are going to use this card in a deck, it would be smart to include a few Potion or Super Potion trainers to remove damage inflicted by Pyroar BREAK.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a very good BREAK Pokemon card from the Steam Siege set.  This card continues the trend from Pyroar in this set of powerful attacks with a solid HP, although I don't like the fact that the one move that this BREAK card has does 50 damage to Pyroar, 180 damage per turn for three energy cards is excellent and since BREAK cards can use Pyroar's moves too, this card works well overall and together, I would give the line of Litleo, Pyroar, and Pyroar BREAK a 4 out of 5 rating.

Pyroar -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Pyroar Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Pyroar from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  Pyroar is a stage 1, fire type Pokemon card, with an hp of 120. It has a x2 weakness to water type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Pyroar does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Flame Charge, for two energy cards, one each of fire and colorless, this move does 60 damage, it also allows you to search your deck for a fire energy card and attach it to Pyroar.  Pyroar's second move is called Incinerate and for three energy cards, two fire and one colorless, this move does 90 damage, plus this move also lets you remove all Pokemon Tool cards attached to your opponent's active Pokemon before doing the damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Pyroar is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Litleo into play (I reviewed Litleo from this set yesterday) and then evolve Litleo into Pyroar.  There is a Pyroar BREAK card in this set and I'll be reviewing it tomorrow.  If you read yesterday's review of Litleo, you'll know that I thought it was a below average Basic Pokemon card, the reason it was below average is that it only had one move that either did damage or not based on a coin flip, other than that, the card was solid with a low retreat cost and average HP.  So knowing this about Litleo and looking at this Pyroar card, if you're building a fire type deck, it would be best to use a 1-1 line of this Pokemon family and set it up on the bench, especially since Litleo needs two energy cards to attack.  Pyroar is a straight out attacker, with both moves doing major damage, add in the fact it has a high HP for a Stage 1 evolution, and this is a card you definitely want to use in your deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an above average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Steam Siege set.  This is one powerful card and one that should definitely be used in fire type decks out there.  You can't complain about being able to do major damage every single turn plus do more with both moves.  So again, I would highly recommend using this line in a deck, and together with Litleo from this set would give both cards a 3 out of 5 rating.

Tomorrow's Pokemon Card:

Litleo -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Litleo Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Litleo from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  Litleo is a basic, fire type Pokemon card with an HP of 60.  It has a x2 weakness to water type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost. Litleo does not have an Ability and it only has one move called Lunge, which requires two energy cards to use, one each of fire and colorless, and does 30 damage, however when using this move you must flip a coin, if you get a tails the move does nothing.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Litleo is a basic Pokemon card with a stage 1 evolution in Pyroar, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, you'll more than likely want to use this card with that Pokemon.  However, since I haven't reviewed that card yet, I'll just act as though I plan on using this card without its evolution.  So, on its own, I cannot recommend using this card in a deck, mainly because it isn't quick on the attack and when you do get it set up to attack, Litleo may end up doing nothing at all.  So the only scenario I could potentially see using this card on its own is if you're already using 4 Trick Coin trainer cards in your deck, therefore giving you a better shot at doing 30 damage a turn with Lunge.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  So in my opinion, on its own, without considering Pyroar, this is a below average Basic Pokemon card overall.  Overall, this card has potential to do 30 damage a turn, has a solid HP, and a low retreat cost, but because this card is slow on the attack, only has one move, and the only move that this card has is based on a coin flip, there are much better cards out there to use when building a fire type deck.

Tomorrow's Pokemon Card:

Talonflame BREAK -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Talonflame BREAK Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Talonflame BREAK from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  The way a BREAK card works is that you place it on top of the Pokemon with the exact name, so this card would be placed on top of Talonflame, so basically this card is a Stage 3 card.  It is placed horizontally on the card it evolves from and can use that Pokemon's Abilities and Attacks as well as what is on the BREAK card.  Talonflame BREAK is a BREAK (essentially a Stage 3), fire type Pokemon card, with an hp of 170.  It has the same weakness, resistance and retreat cost as the Talonflame you're evolving it from.  Talonflame does not have an Ability and it only has one move called Flare Blitz that requires two fire energy cards to use and does 150 damage, however after using this move you must discard all fire energy attached to Talonflame.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Talonflame BREAK is a stage 3 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Fletchling, Fletchinder, and Talonflame into play, all three are colorless type Pokemon in this set and I'll be reviewing them in the next month or so.  But regardless, if you want to take up a bulk of your deck with this Pokemon family to get to Talonflame BREAK, you'll definitely want to have 4 Burning Energy cards in your deck so that you can use Flare Blitz every single turn.  That move is definitely a powerful one, but you'll have to ask yourself if it is worth it to evolve so many Pokemon just to do 150 damage a turn.  At best, I would use a 1-1-1-1 line of this entire family and use the line if you can get the cards in play, otherwise have another Pokemon in your deck that does major damage.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a very good BREAK card from the Steam Siege set.  Just like yesterday's fire type Pokemon line that required Burning Energy to be above average, this card is the same, if you're using that type of Special Energy this card is very good.  The only downfall with this card is that it is a Stage 3, and there really isn't anything like Spirit Link cards to start attacking with BREAK cards quicker.  So my advice would be if you're building a fire type deck, to consider this card since it can do major damage, but remember how long it will take to get this card into play.

Infernape -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Infernape Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Infernape from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  Infernape is a stage 2, fire type Pokemon card, with an hp of 130.  It has a x2 weakness to water type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Infernape does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Flare Blitz, for two fire energy cards this move does 120 damage, however you must discard all fire energy attached to this Pokemon.  Infernape's second move is called Flare Up and for two fire energy cards does 200 damage, however if you don't have at least 10 fire energy cards in your discard pile, the move does nothing, after using this move, shuffle 10 fire energy cards from your discard pile back into your deck.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Infernape is a stage 2 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Chimchar into play and then evolve it into Monferno before you can evolve Monferno into Infernape, both of those Pokemon are from this set and I've reviewed both of them the last two days.  If you've read my reviews of those cards you'll know that I thought both were average to above average, both cards had quick attacking moves that could do a fair amount of damage, and the only knock on the two cards was that Monferno had 10 HP less than most Stage 1 cards.  So knowing this about the first two Pokemon in this line and looking at this Infernape card, the first thing you'll want to make sure when using this line is to include 4 Burning Energy cards in your deck, that way you can use 2 of them on Infernape and be able to do 120 damage a turn every single turn.  Another thing you may want to do is make sure you're using a heavy fire type deck so that you'll have lots of fire energy cards in your discard pile and then can use Flare Up to do 200 damage and get those energy cards back into your deck.  It may also make sense to have plenty of trainer cards allowing you to get energy cards into your hand, because even if you go through your deck quick, Flare Up with replenish it, you also can use Pokemon that discard energy cards since Flare Up can retrieve them.  Overall, this is a Pokemon line that a deck should be built around, this is a powerful fire type Pokemon that can do major damage for little energy, add in the fact this whole line is solid, and you could easily use a 4-3-3 line of this Pokemon family.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 5 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is an excellent Stage 2 Pokemon card from the Steam Siege set and a Pokemon that a fire type deck should be built around.  With the invention of the Burning Energy card, that card makes this Infernape even better.  So again, if you're building a fire type deck and are looking for some quick power, I would highly recommend this Pokemon line, giving it a 4 out of 5 rating total.

Monferno -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Monferno Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Monferno from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card set.  Monferno is a stage 1, fire type Pokemon card, with an HP of 80.  It has a x2 weakness to water type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Monferno does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Scratch, for one colorless energy card this move does 20 damage.  Monferno's second move is called Flare and for two energy cards, one each of fire and colorless, this move does 30 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Monferno is a Stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Chimchar into play (I reviewed Chimchar from this set yesterday) and then evolve Chimchar into Monferno.  Monferno does have a Stage 2 evolution in Infernape, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, that you'll probably want to use with this Pokemon line but since I haven't reviewed that card yet, the strategy below will act like Monferno is the final evolution in this line.  So if you read my review of Chimchar, you'll know that I thought it was a very solid Basic Pokemon card, one that could definitely be used on its own or a card to make an excellent start to this entire Pokemon line.  The card had a solid HP, low retreat cost, and two moves, if you used a Burning Energy card with that card, it could do 30 damage every turn for two energy cards.  So knowing this about Chimchar from this set and looking at Monferno, if you plan on using this entire line, it would make sense to use this card, since it has two quick attacks and a low retreat cost in case you can't find Infernape in your deck.  However, if you don't plan on using Infernape, this card isn't as good, just because it has a somewhat lower HP for a Stage 1, and it can't do any more damage than Chimchar.  But overall, this is a solid card, other than its HP, and is one to definitely consider when building a fire type deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is an average, to slightly below average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Steam Siege set.  If this card had 10 more HP, I would really like the card, since it has two quick, solid attacking moves, and a low retreat cost.  So far, I would give the first two Pokemon in this line a 3 out of 5 rating combined, I would definitely consider this line when building a fire type deck.

Chimchar -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Chimchar Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Chimchar from the Steam Siege set.  Chimchar is a basic, fire type Pokemon card with an HP of 60.  It has a x2 weakness to water type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Chimchar does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Scratch, for one colorless energy card this move does 10 damage.  Chimchar's second move is called Ember and for two energy cards, one each of fire and colorless, this move does 30 damage, however if you get a tails when flipping a coin, you must discard a fire type energy card attached to Chimchar.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Chimchar is a basic Pokemon card with a Stage 1 evolution in Monferno, and a Stage 2 evolution in Infernape, which I'll be reviewing the next couple of days, you'll more than likely want to use some of those Pokemon with this card, however, since I have not reviewed any of those cards yet, I will just act like Chimchar does not have any evolution forms and that it will be used on its own.  On its own, this card is a very solid starter type Pokemon for a fire type deck and an excellent start to the Infernape line.  The reason I say this card is very good is because you can use 4 Burning Energy in your deck and attach one of them to Chimchar to use with Ember, that way, even if you get a tails when flipping a coin, you can re-attach that energy card after attacking.  So, if you're building a fire type deck, this is a card you want in the active Pokemon spot to start the game, not only can it attack for only one energy card, but it can do a fair amount of damage with two energy cards, and with a solid HP and low retreat cost, it is an easy retreat when you get your benched Pokemon set up.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is a slightly above average Basic Pokemon card from the Steam Siege set.  Without using Burning Energy, I would say this card is an average card, but if you include that Special Energy card, this card is above average and if you plan playing this entire line, this is a great way to start out the Pokemon family.  I would recommend taking a strong look at this card when building a fire type deck.

Rapidash -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Rapidash Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Rapidash from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  Rapidash is a stage 1, fire type Pokemon card, with an hp of 90. It has a x2 weakness to water type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Rapidash does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Rear Kick, for one colorless energy card, this move does 30 damage.  Rapidash's second move is called Fire Blast, for two fire energy cards this move does 70 damage, however you must discard a fire energy card attached to Rapidash.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Rapidash is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Ponyta into play (I reviewed Ponyta from this set yesterday) and then evolve Ponyta into Rapidash.  If you read yesterday's review of Ponyta, you'll know that I thought it was an average Basic Pokemon card overall, it had a solid HP, low retreat cost, and two moves, making the card usable early in the game or later in the game.  So knowing this about Ponyta and looking at this Rapidash card, if you are building a fire type deck, and especially if you're already including 4 Burning Energy, this is definitely a line to include in your deck.  Burning Energy and then Ponyta's move will help you get fire energy cards from the discard pile and make Fire Blast a move that you can use over and over again, and doing a significant amount of damage for only two energy cards.  Because Rapidash does discard energy, I would suggest using a 1-1 line of this Pokemon family in a deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is a very solid Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Steam Siege set.  There really isn't any downfalls with this card, both of its moves are strong, it has a solid HP, and low retreat cost.  Combine this card with Ponyta from this set, and I would give both cards a 3 out of 5 rating, and would give them a strong look when deck building.

Ponyta -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Ponyta Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Ponyta from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  Ponyta is a basic, fire type Pokemon card with an hp of 60.  It has a x2 weakness to water type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Ponyta does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Returning Flames, for one colorless energy card this move allows you to put 2 fire energy cards from your discard pile back into your hand.  Ponyta's second move is called Live Coal, and for one fire energy card this move does 10 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Ponyta is a basic Pokemon card with a stage 1 evolution in Rapidash, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, you'll more than likely want to use this card with that Pokemon.  However, since I haven't reviewed that card yet, I'll just act as though I plan on using this card without its evolution.  So, on its own, this card could be very valuable to a fire type deck, not only as a starter type Pokemon, but as a Pokemon you can put in later in games to retrieve fire energy from the discard pile.  So if you need a Pokemon that can attack for one energy card or have a Pokemon that discards an energy each time it attacks, this is definitely a card to consider in a deck.  I could see using at least 1 of these cards in a fire type deck, especially if you don't plan on using an Burning Energy in your deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  So in my opinion, on its own, without considering Rapidash, this is an average Basic Pokemon card.  Really, other than only being able to do 10 damage maximum, this card is very solid overall, with an average HP, low retreat cost, and two good moves, making this card usable during the duration of a battle.

Volcarona -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Volcarona Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Volcarona from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  Volcarona is a stage 1, grass and fire type Pokemon card, with an hp of 110. It has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Volcarona does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Shimmering Scales and for one grass energy card does 20 damage and either confuses the defending Pokemon or paralyzes it depending on what result you get when flipping a coin.  Volcarona's second move is called Power Hurricane and for three colorless energy cards this move does 120 damage, however after using this move you must discard all energy attached to this Pokemon.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Volcarona is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Larvesta into play (I reviewed Larvesta from this set yesterday) and then evolve Larvesta into Volcarona.  If you read yesterday's review of Larvesta, you'll know that I thought it was a below average Basic Pokemon card, mainly because it was slow on the attack and had a higher retreat cost, other than that, it had a decent move and an above average HP, but because it was slower, I didn't recommend using it on its own.  So knowing this about Larvesta and looking at this Volcarona card, I do like that this card is quicker on the attack, although it does less damage, and if you have a quick way of retrieving energy cards from your discard pile, it may be worth using Power Hurricane once, retreating Volcarona the next turn, and then powering up Volcarona again.  If you can't quickly get energy cards from your discard pile, this card is definitely one to avoid, you don't want to do only 20 damage a turn with a Stage 1 card.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is a below average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Steam Siege set.  Just like Larvesta from yesterday, this card is solid overall, but it just lacks somethings preventing it from being an average card overall.  I like the fact that this card has a low retreat cost, high HP, and two moves, but neither move that this card has is that great and that to me is the main reason I am giving this card a 2 rating.  Together with Larvesta from this set, I would give the two cards a 2 out of 5 rating.

Larvesta -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Larvesta Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Larvesta from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  Larvesta is a basic, grass type Pokemon card with an hp of 70.  It has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Larvesta does not have an Ability and it only has one move called Bug Bite, for two energy cards, one each of grass and colorless, this move does 30 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Larvesta is a basic Pokemon card with a stage 1 evolution in Volcarona, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, you'll more than likely want to use this card with that Pokemon.  However, since I haven't reviewed that card yet, I'll just act as though I plan on using this card without its evolution.  So, on its own, this card could work as a stand-alone Basic Pokemon card since it has a solid HP and can do a fair amount of damage when attacking, but in my opinion it would be a better option with Volcarona.  Once you get two energy cards on this card 30 damage is a fair amount, but this card is limited overall and slow on the attack, so I would advise against giving this card much of a chance on its own.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  So in my opinion, on its own, without considering Volcarona, this is a below average Basic Pokemon card from the Steam Siege set.  The main reason I'm giving this card a below average rating is because of the fact it requires two energy cards to attack and has the same retreat cost, so this card is just slow on the attack and limited in what it can do.  This card does have an above average HP and average move, so it isn't that bad overall, but one I would not recommend on its own.

Amoonguss Steam Siege Pokemon Card

Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Amoonguss from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  Amoonguss is a stage 1, grass type Pokemon card, with an hp of 90. It has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Amoonguss does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is Crazy Spore, for one colorless energy card this move confuses and poisons the defending Pokemon.  Amoonguss' second move is called Strange Reaction and for two energy cards, one each of grass and colorless, this move does 30 damage, plus if the defending Pokemon is already confused, it is now paralyzed.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Amoonguss is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Foongus into play (I reviewed Foongus from this set yesterday) and then evolve Foongus into Amoonguss.  If you read yesterday's review of Foongus, you'll know that I thought it was a below average Basic Pokemon card, mainly because of its low HP.  Outside of its 40 HP, this card had a solid move and ability, but because of its low HP, it would not be a good idea to use that card on its own or to ever really have it in the active Pokemon spot.  So knowing this about Foongus and looking at this Amoonguss card, if you're building a deck that specializing in inflicting conditions on the defending Pokemon, this is a line to include in your deck.  This card has a solid HP and can attack quickly, first use Crazy Spore and then the next turn use Strange Reaction.  Other than not being able to do that much damage a turn, this is definitely a card to consider in a deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Steam Siege set.  It has a solid HP, and two quick attacking moves, both inflicting special conditions.  So like I said above, if you're building a deck that has many Pokemon that can inflict special conditions, this is a Pokemon family to look at for your deck.  Together with Foongus from this set, I would give the cards a 2 out of 5 rating.

Foongus -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Foongus Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Foongus from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  Foongus is a basic, grass type Pokemon card with an hp of 40.  It has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Foongus' Ability is called Play Ball, it says when you play Foongus from your hand to your Bench, you may move 3 Poke Ball cards from your discard pile to your hand.  Besides the Ability, Foongus has one move called Ram that does 10 damage for one grass energy card.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Foongus is a basic Pokemon card with a stage 1 evolution in Amoonguss, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, you'll more than likely want to use this card with that Pokemon.  However, since I haven't reviewed that card yet, I'll just act as though I plan on using this card without its evolution.  So, on its own, unless you're heavily using Poke Ball trainer cards in your deck, this card has no use in a deck, mainly because of its low HP.  Usually if a card has a lower HP, you'll want to get this card into play early so it won't be knocked out so easily, but with this card, it is almost backwards, since to take advantage of its Ability you need to have cards in the discard pile already, thus there wouldn't be any at the beginning of the game.  So unless you're using Amoonguss in your deck, do not use this card in your deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  So in my opinion, on its own, without considering Amoonguss, this is a below average Basic Pokemon card from the Steam Siege set.  I was going to give this card a 1 rating since it is a card I would never play on its own, but besides the low HP, this card is decent overall with a solid move, Ability, and a low retreat cost, so it isn't all bad, but again, it is definitely not good enough to want to use on its own.

Shiftry -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Shiftry Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Shiftry from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  Shiftry is a stage 2, grass and darkness type Pokemon card, with an hp of 140.  It has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Shiftry does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Wicked Wind, for one grass energy card this move does 40 damage, plus until the end of your opponent's next turn, each Pokemon Tool and Pokemon Stadium card in play has no effect.  Shiftry's second move is called Extrasensory, for two colorless energy cards this move does 60 damage plus 60 more damage if you have the exact same number of cards in your hand as your opponent.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Shiftry is a stage 2 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Seedot into play and then evolve it into Nuzleaf before you can evolve Nuzleaf into Shiftry, both of those Pokemon are from this set and I've reviewed both of them the last two days.  If you've read my reviews of those cards you'll know that I thought both were below average.  Both of the first two Pokemon in this line were pretty under-powered, and Seedot really could not be used on its own since it couldn't do any damage when attacking.  So knowing this about the first two Pokemon in this line and looking at this Shiftry card, if you are building a deck around avoiding Pokemon Tool and Stadium cards, it could be very useful to use a 1-1-1 line of this family so that you can put Shiftry into the active Pokemon spot and use Wicked Wind every turn, and ruining your opponent's strategy.  However, if you plan on using Tool and Stadium cards, the other option is to use Extrasensory, which essentially can do up to 120 damage a turn for only one special energy card, and since you can use cards in your hand before attacking it should be easy to get the same number of cards in your hand as your opponent's unless they have a significantly higher amount of cards in their hand.  Overall, this card has some potential, but because of how poor Nuzleaf and Seedot are, this card isn't one you'll see in that many decks out there.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is an average Stage 2 Pokemon card from the Fates Collide set.  This card is just plain average overall, it has a solid HP, standard retreat cost, and two good but not great moves.  This card is quick on the attack and can do some major damage, but evolves some luck when using this card.  Altogether, I would give this entire Pokemon family a 2 out of 5 rating, it is worth a look, but not a long one.

Nuzleaf -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Nuzleaf Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Nuzleaf from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card set.  Nuzleaf is a stage 1, grass type Pokemon card, with an HP of 70.  It has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Nuzleaf does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Harden and for one grass energy card this move prevents damage from your opponent during their next turn if that damage does 60 or less.  Nuzleaf's second move is called Razor Leaf and for two colorless energy cards this move does 20 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Nuzleaf is a Stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Seedot into play (I reviewed Seedot from this set yesterday) and then evolve Seedot into Nuzleaf.  Nuzleaf does have a Stage 2 evolution in Shiftry, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, that you'll probably want to use with this Pokemon line but since I haven't reviewed that card yet, the strategy below will act like Nuzleaf is the final evolution in this line.  So if you read my review of Seedot you'll know that I thought it was a very poor Basic Pokemon card and one that could not be used on its own, since it had a low HP and the only move it had prevented it from being knocked out, if you got a heads when flipping a coin.  So knowing this about Seedot and looking at this Nuzleaf card, this card is pretty similar in that it has a low HP, and a move that prevents damage from your opponent.  This card does have a move that does damage when attacking, but again, I would not use either of these two Pokemon without Shiftry because this card has too low of an HP and has a weak move, and is geared towards more of just stalling in the active Pokemon spot until you can get Shiftry into play.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 1 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a well below average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Steam Siege set.  Outside of having two moves, this card doesn't have much for positives, it has a really low HP, two under-powered moves, and just nothing that makes this card usable on its own.  So together with Seedot from this set, I would give both cards a 1 out of 5 rating, this is a line to avoid.

Tomorrow's Pokemon Card:
