Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Foongus from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set. Foongus is a basic, grass type Pokemon card with an hp of 40. It has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost. Foongus' Ability is called Play Ball, it says when you play Foongus from your hand to your Bench, you may move 3 Poke Ball cards from your discard pile to your hand. Besides the Ability, Foongus has one move called Ram that does 10 damage for one grass energy card.
Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Foongus is a basic Pokemon card with a stage 1 evolution in Amoonguss, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, you'll more than likely want to use this card with that Pokemon. However, since I haven't reviewed that card yet, I'll just act as though I plan on using this card without its evolution. So, on its own, unless you're heavily using Poke Ball trainer cards in your deck, this card has no use in a deck, mainly because of its low HP. Usually if a card has a lower HP, you'll want to get this card into play early so it won't be knocked out so easily, but with this card, it is almost backwards, since to take advantage of its Ability you need to have cards in the discard pile already, thus there wouldn't be any at the beginning of the game. So unless you're using Amoonguss in your deck, do not use this card in your deck.
Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating. So in my opinion, on its own, without considering Amoonguss, this is a below average Basic Pokemon card from the Steam Siege set. I was going to give this card a 1 rating since it is a card I would never play on its own, but besides the low HP, this card is decent overall with a solid move, Ability, and a low retreat cost, so it isn't all bad, but again, it is definitely not good enough to want to use on its own.
