Amoonguss -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Amoonguss Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Amoonguss from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  Amoonguss is a stage 1, grass type Pokemon card, with an hp of 90. It has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Amoonguss does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is Crazy Spore, for one colorless energy card this move confuses and poisons the defending Pokemon.  Amoonguss' second move is called Strange Reaction and for two energy cards, one each of grass and colorless, this move does 30 damage, plus if the defending Pokemon is already confused, it is now paralyzed.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Amoonguss is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Foongus into play (I reviewed Foongus from this set yesterday) and then evolve Foongus into Amoonguss.  If you read yesterday's review of Foongus, you'll know that I thought it was a below average Basic Pokemon card, mainly because of its low HP.  Outside of its 40 HP, this card had a solid move and ability, but because of its low HP, it would not be a good idea to use that card on its own or to ever really have it in the active Pokemon spot.  So knowing this about Foongus and looking at this Amoonguss card, if you're building a deck that specializing in inflicting conditions on the defending Pokemon, this is a line to include in your deck.  This card has a solid HP and can attack quickly, first use Crazy Spore and then the next turn use Strange Reaction.  Other than not being able to do that much damage a turn, this is definitely a card to consider in a deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Steam Siege set.  It has a solid HP, and two quick attacking moves, both inflicting special conditions.  So like I said above, if you're building a deck that has many Pokemon that can inflict special conditions, this is a Pokemon family to look at for your deck.  Together with Foongus from this set, I would give the cards a 2 out of 5 rating.
