Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Hoopa from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set. Hoopa is a basic, psychic type Pokemon card with an hp of 130, it has a x2 weakness to psychic type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost. Hoopa does not have an Ability but it does have two moves. The first move that this card has is called Hyperspace Punch, for one colorless energy card this move does 20 damage to 2 of your opponent's Pokemon. Hoopa's second move is called Portal Strike and for three psychic energy cards, this move does 130 damage, however, Hoopa can't use Portal Strike during its next turn.
Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Hoopa is a basic Pokemon with no evolution forms, you only have to use this Pokemon in your deck if you want to use this card. With that being said, if you're building a psychic type deck and looking for some power, this is a card you'll definitely want to consider, since it can do 130 damage for only three energy cards. Also, if you're building a spread attack type deck, this is a card you'll want to consider, potentially as a starter type Pokemon, for any type of energy card, this card can do 40 total damage to your opponent's Pokemon. Outside of the higher retreat cost on this card, this card is pretty amazing for a Basic Pokemon, and it is a card that should be highly considered when deck building.
Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating. In my opinion this is an above average Basic Pokemon card from the Steam Siege set. As I mentioned above, this is a great card for a psychic type deck, spread attack type deck, or really any deck out there where you need a solid starter Pokemon. I could see using up to 4 of these in any of those decks. Really the only thing holding this card back is that you can only do 130 damage every other turn, but still, with a move as massive as that, not too many complaints from me.
