Shuckle -- Fates Collide Pokemon Card Review

Shuckle Fates Collide Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Shuckle from the Fates Collide Pokemon Card Set.  This is the first card in the Fates Collide set.  Shuckle is a basic, grass type Pokemon card with an hp of 80, it has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Shuckle does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Hide a Berry, for one colorless energy card this move allows you to draw 2 cards from your deck then put 1 card from your hand on the bottom of the deck.  Shuckle's second move is called Wrap and for two colorless energy cards this move does 30 damage, plus it paralyzes the defending Pokemon if you get a heads when flipping a coin.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Shuckle is a basic Pokemon with no evolutions, you only have to use this Pokemon in your deck if you want to use this card.  With that being said, since this card only requires colorless type energy cards, you can use it in any type deck, and use Double Colorless energy cards with it as well.  This card would be okay as a starter type Pokemon and is very similar to the Furfrou card I reviewed yesterday.  You could use it in the active Pokemon spot right away to recycle cards from your hand and your deck to help you get your bench set up quicker, or you could attach a Trick Coin trainer card to this card and use Wrap hoping to get a heads every turn when flipping a coin and paralyzing the defending Pokemon, thus giving you more time to set up your benched Pokemon.  Because this card can only do a maximum of 30 damage per turn, it would be better to use this card earlier in the game, but it can definitely be used in a deck, although I wouldn't recommend more than 1 or 2.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an average Basic Pokemon card from the Fates Collide set.  The only downfall to this card is that it requires two energy cards to do damage to the defending Pokemon instead of just one.  But, you can still use this card as a starter type Pokemon since it has two moves, and can attack the first turn if you get one energy card on it, so if you're looking for a solid Basic Pokemon card to use in your deck, give this Shuckle card a look.

Furfrou -- BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Review

Furfrou BREAKpoint Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Furfrou from the BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Set.  Furfrou is a basic, colorless type Pokemon card with an hp of 80, it has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Furfrou does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Collect, for one colorless energy card this move allows you to draw a card.  Furfrou's second move is called Tight Jaw and for two colorless energy cards this move does 30 damage and if you get a heads when flipping a coin paralyzes the defending Pokemon.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Furfrou is a basic Pokemon with no evolutions, you only have to use this Pokemon in your deck if you want to use this card.  With that being said, since this card is a colorless type Pokemon card, you can use it in any type deck, and use Double Colorless energy cards with it as well.  This card would be okay as a starter type Pokemon.  You could use it in the active Pokemon spot right away to draw several cards into your hand to help setup your benched Pokemon, or you could attach a Trick Coin trainer card to this card and use Tight Jaw hoping to get a heads every turn when flipping a coin and paralyzes the defending Pokemon, thus giving you more time to set up your benched Pokemon.  Because this card is better as a starter type Pokemon instead of later in the game, you shouldn't use many of these cards in a deck, stick with only one of these in a deck if you decide to use this card at all.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an average Basic Pokemon card from the BREAKpoint set.  The only downfall to this card is that it requires two energy cards to do damage to the defending Pokemon instead of just one.  But, you can still use this card as a starter type Pokemon since it has two moves, and can attack the first turn if you get one energy card on it.

Purugly -- BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Review

Purugly BREAKpoint Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Purugly from the BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Set.  Purugly is a stage 1, colorless type Pokemon card, with an hp of 100. It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Purugly does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Slash, for two colorless energy cards this move does 30 damage.  Purugly's second move is called Nyan Press and for three colorless energy cards this move does 40 damage plus 40 more damage if you get a heads when flipping a coin or if you get a tails, it paralyzes the defending Pokemon instead.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Purugly is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Glameow into play (I reviewed Glameow from this set yesterday) and then evolve Glameow into Purugly.  If you read yesterday's review of Glameow, you'll know that I thought that card was an average card overall, since it had two moves, a solid HP, and low retreat cost, plus since it requires only colorless energy cards to attack, it really only needs one special energy card to use either move.  So knowing this about Glameow and looking at this Purugly card, I would either stick with just Glameow in a deck or avoid this line altogether.  Even though Purugly has an above average HP and two moves, neither move is really that great unless you can get a heads every time when using Nyan Press, then the move is a bit better.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is a slightly below average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the BREAKpoint set.  Really, there aren't any negatives on this card, but it just isn't that good overall, since Slash is an average move at best and Nyan Press, barring a heads, is under-powered.  So if you're looking for a colorless type Pokemon line to play in your deck, this line deserves consideration, but I would probably look elsewhere.  Together with Glameow from this set, I would give this line a 2 out of 5 rating.

Glameow -- BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Review

Glameow BREAKpoint Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Glameow from the BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Set.  Glameow is a basic, colorless type Pokemon card with an hp of 60.  It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost. Glameow does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Act Cute, for one colorless energy card this move makes your opponent put one of their cards in their hand to the bottom of their deck.  Glameow's second move is called Scratch and for two energy cards, both colorless, this move does 20 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Glameow is a basic Pokemon card with a stage 1 evolution in Purugly, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, you'll more than likely want to use this card with that Pokemon.  However, since I haven't reviewed that card yet, I'll just act as though I plan on using this card without its evolution.  So, on its own, since this is a colorless type Pokemon card it can be used in any type deck.  I just wish this card could do damage for one energy card, but you could still use this card as a starter type Pokemon and hope to have your opponent move a high priority card from their hand back into their deck with Act Cute the first turn then after that use Scratch every turn.  Or, if you're using a Double Colorless energy card, you could use Scratch the first turn.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  So in my opinion, on its own, without considering Purugly, this is an average Basic Pokemon card.  This card doesn't have any strong negatives or positives about it, but more of a happy medium type of card.  It has a solid HP, low retreat cost, and two average moves.  Add in the fact it requires only colorless energy cards and this card is worth consideration in a deck.

Tomorrow's Pokemon Card:

Ho-Oh EX -- BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Review

Ho-Oh EX BREAKpoint Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Ho-Oh EX from the BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Set.  Ho-Oh EX is a basic, EX, colorless type Pokemon card with an hp of 180. It has a x2 weakness to water type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to fighting type Pokemon, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Ho-Oh EX does have an Ability which is called Purifying Fire and says that once per turn, if Ho-Oh EX has an fire energy attached to it, you can heal 50 damage from it.  Besides the Ability, Ho-Oh EX just has one move called Elemental Feather that requires three energy cards to use, one each of grass, water, and lightning, and does 130 damage, plus 30 damage to one of your opponent's benched Pokemon.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, because Ho-Oh EX is a basic Pokemon card you won't need to use any other cards with this card.  But remember, because this card is an EX card, if this card is knocked out, two prize cards are taken instead of one.  So knowing this about Ho-Oh EX, there is really no feasible way to use this card in a deck since it really requires four different energy types to use, fire, grass, water, and lightning, so unless you have that many energy card types in your deck, do not use this card.  Of course, Elemental Feather is a great move for three energy cards, but since it requires so many different types to use, it is just going to be too hard to get set up.  So I cannot recommend using this card in a deck, in my opinion, this card is mainly for collectors.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 1 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is a very poor EX Pokemon card from the BREAKpoint set.  Overall, this card has a solid HP, average retreat cost, a good Ability and powerful move, but like I've said above, because this card requires so many different energy types, it is pretty much unusable, thus getting a low rating from me.

Stantler -- BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Review

Stantler BREAKpoint Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Stantler from the BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Set.  Stantler is a basic, colorless type Pokemon card with an hp of 90, it has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Stantler does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Mystifying Horns, for one colorless energy card this move allows you to confuse the defending Pokemon if you get a heads when flipping a coin.  Stantler's second move is called Big Charge and for two colorless energy cards this move does 30 damage plus 50 more damage if you have a Mega evolution on your bench.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Stantler is a basic Pokemon with no evolutions, you only have to use this Pokemon in your deck if you want to use this card.  With that being said, the only way I would even consider using this card in a deck is if I had at least one Mega EX in my deck, that way I could just put one double colorless energy card on Stantler and keep it on the bench until I get a Mega in play, then take advantage of Stantler's Big Charge move and do 80 damage a turn for only 1 energy card.  If I'm not playing any Mega EX cards in my deck, I would not use this card at all, since Mystifying Horns is a coin flip based move and Big Charge only does average damage.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an average Basic Pokemon card from the BREAKpoint set.  Other than just being limited, damage wise, if not using a Mega EX card, this card is pretty decent overall, requiring only colorless energy cards to attack, having a low retreat cost, and a solid HP.  So if you're building a deck, this card requires some consideration.

Dunsparce -- BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Review

Dunsparce BREAKpoint Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Dunsparce from the BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Set.  Dunsparce is a basic, colorless type Pokemon card with an hp of 60, it has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Dunsparce does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Call for Family and for one colorless energy card this move allows you to search your deck for a Basic Pokemon and put it onto your bench.  Dunsparce's second move is called Ram and for one colorless energy card this move does 20 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Dunsparce is a basic Pokemon with no evolutions, you only have to use this Pokemon in your deck if you want to use this card.  With that being said, this card makes for a perfect starter type Pokemon in any type deck.  It requires only one energy card to attack, colorless type at that, and both moves can be utilized early on.  Call for Family can be used to set up your bench and Ram can be used to do above average damage every turn.  Later on in the game, this card isn't quite as good, but if you can get this card into the active Pokemon spot to start the game, your team will be off to a great start.  I would consider using up to 4 of these in a deck, just to make sure you can get this card in the active Pokemon spot to start.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is a slightly above average Basic Pokemon card from the BREAKpoint set.  Other than just being a little limited later in games, this card is very good overall, with a solid HP, and two quick moves that both do good things.  So if you're looking to build a deck, definitely consider this Dunsparce card.

Raticate BREAK -- BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Review

Raticate BREAK Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Raticate BREAK from the BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Set.  The way a BREAK card works is that you place it on top of the Pokemon with the exact name, so this card would be placed on top of Raticate, so basically this card is a Stage 2 card.  It is placed horizontally on the card it evolves from and can use that Pokemon's Abilities and Attacks as well as what is on the BREAK card.  Raticate BREAK is a BREAK (essentially a Stage 2), colorless type Pokemon card, with an hp of 110.  It has the same weakness, resistance and retreat cost as the Raticate you're evolving it from.  Raticate BREAK does not have an Ability and it only has one moved called Super Fang, this move requires two colorless energy cards to use and allows you to put damage counters on the defending Pokemon until it just has 10 HP left.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Raticate BREAK is a stage 2 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Rattata into play and evolve it into Raticate before you can evolve Raticate into Raticate BREAK.  I have reviewed both Rattata and Raticate from this set previously and if you've read those reviews you'll know that I thought both cards were below average, Rattata was extremely poor with a really low HP and only one move that couldn't do any damage, Raticate was a little bit better since it had a free retreat cost, but it also had a low HP and couldn't do any damage other than inflicting a special condition.  So knowing this about the first two Pokemon in this line and looking at this Raticate BREAK card, if you're building a deck with Pokemon that have free or low retreat costs, this line should definitely be used in that deck.  You can set this line up on the bench, using a 1-1-1 line, then when a high HP Pokemon is put into the active Pokemon spot, you can put Raticate BREAK into the active Pokemon spot and get it down to only 10 HP, then switch out Raticate BREAK the next turn for a Pokemon that can do at least 10 damage.  You can continue this pattern throughout the game to knock out all of your opponent's Pokemon in 2 turns.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a very good BREAK Pokemon card from the BREAKpoint set.  I really like the one move that this card has and it makes it easy to take down a Pokemon with a high HP, the only downfall to this card is that it has such a low HP, meaning if the Pokemon you're facing can do major damage, Raticate will get knocked out in one move.  Overall, I would give this line a 3 out of 5 rating, it is definitely worth looking at with how good Raticate BREAK is.

Tomorrow's Pokemon Card:

Raticate -- BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Review

Raticate BREAKpoint Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Raticate from the BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Set.  Raticate is a stage 1, colorless type Pokemon card, with an hp of 70. It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a free retreat cost.  Raticate has an Ability called Antibodies that says Raticate can't be affected by any Special Conditions.  Besides the Ability, Raticate just has one move called Dirty Shock, for one colorless energy card this move poisons the defending Pokemon and removes all Tool cards attached to that Pokemon.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Raticate is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Rattata into play (I reviewed Rattata from this set yesterday) and then evolve Rattata into Raticate.  If you read yesterday's review of Rattata, you'll know that I thought that card was a pretty weak Pokemon with a very low HP, and only one move that would actually work out if you were able to play it first, since it retreats Rattata after using.  So knowing how weak Rattata from this set is and looking at this Raticate card, this Raticate card is pretty similar, since it has a low HP, and a pretty weak move.  So I would say without considering Raticate BREAK to avoid this line altogether.  Unless you think your opponent is going to use a lot of Tool cards, there is no reason to include any of these Pokemon in your deck.  At best, only use a 1-1 line.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is a below average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the BREAKpoint set.  The only reason I'm giving this card a 2 rating as opposed to a 1 rating is because it has a free retreat cost and can be moved in and out of the active Pokemon spot without cost, but other than that, Raticate's move is pretty weak and can't do any other damage on than poisoning.  So together with Rattata from this set, I would give this line a 1 out of 5 rating.

Rattata -- BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Review

Rattata BREAKpoint Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Rattata from the BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Set.  Rattata is a basic, colorless type Pokemon card with an hp of 30.  It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost. Rattata does not have an Ability and it only has one move.  The only move that this card has is called Dangerous Suspicion and for one colorless energy card this move allows you to draw a card and then switch Rattata with one of your benched Pokemon.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Rattata is a basic Pokemon card with a stage 1 evolution in Raticate, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, you'll more than likely want to use this card with that Pokemon.  However, since I haven't reviewed that card yet, I'll just act as though I plan on using this card without its evolution.  So, on its own, I cannot recommend using this card in a deck, mainly because it has too low of an HP and if you aren't attacking first, this card is going to get knocked out in one turn.  The only time I would put this card into the active Pokemon spot is if you for sure are going to evolve it and you know you'll be attacking first, you can then use Dangerous Suspicion the first turn and then use a different Pokemon the next.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 1 out of 5 rating.  So in my opinion, on its own, without considering Raticate, this is a below average Basic Pokemon card.  You don't have to look much farther than its HP to see this card is very poor.  There is just no reason to play such a weak card in the active Pokemon spot, one that is so susceptible to a knock out.

Tomorrow's Pokemon Card:

Dragalge -- BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Review

Dragalge BREAKpoint Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Dragalge from the BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Set.  Dragalge is a stage 1, dragon type Pokemon card, with an hp of 110. It has a x2 weakness to fairy type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Dragalge does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Severe Poison, for one psychic type energy card this move poisons the defending Pokemon and allows you to put 4 damage counters on that Pokemon instead of 1 in between turns.  Dragalge's second move is called Dragon Pulse and for two energy cards, one each of water and psychic, this move does 60 damage, however you must discard the top card of your deck.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Dragalge is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Skrelp into play (I reviewed Skrelp previously) and then evolve Skrelp into Dragalge.  If you read my review of Skrelp, you'll know that I thought that card was a very poor Basic Pokemon card, it was a psychic type card and a card that had a low HP and only one move that was based on a coin flip and couldn't do any damage regardless if you had a heads or tails.  So knowing this about Skrelp and looking at this Dragalge card, the first thing you'll want to take into account is that this card's Dragon Pulse move requires two distinct energy types, so if you are building this dual type deck, this card is a good option for your deck, otherwise, I would just stick to Severe Poison.  You could use a 1-1 line of this Pokemon family to start the game out, using Severe Poison every turn while giving time to set up your benched Pokemon, or if using a dual type deck, do major damage every turn for two energy cards.  Even later in games, this card is good enough to hold up, so I would recommend at least considering this card when deck building.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is a slightly above average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the BREAKpoint set.  The only downfall with this card is the fact its HP is a bit higher, but other than that, this card has an above average HP, and two very good moves.  Together with Skrelp from this set, I would give this line a 3 out of 5 rating and it is definitely a line that should be considered for a deck.

Aromatisse -- BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Review

Aromatisse BREAKpoint Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Aromatisse from the BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Set.  Aromatisse is a stage 1, fairy type Pokemon card, with an hp of 90. It has a x2 weakness to metal type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to darkness type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Aromatisse does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Dizzying Cologne which does 20 damage plus 40 more damage if the defending Pokemon is an EX card for one colorless energy card.  Aromatisse's second move is called Fairy Wind and for two energy cards, one each of colorless and fairy, this move does 40 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Aromatisse is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Spritzee into play (I reviewed Spritzee from this set yesterday) and then evolve Spritzee into Aromatisse.  If you read yesterday's review of Spritzee, you'll know that I thought that card was a slightly below average Basic Pokemon, it had a quick attack and low retreat cost, but its HP was below average so it couldn't be used on its own.  But, if you use these two cards together, you could start with Spritzee in the active Pokemon spot, then during the second turn, add an energy card to it and evolve it into Aromatisse and do 40 damage a turn with Fairy Wind, or you could keep this line on the bench and move it to the active Pokemon spot to face an EX card and do 60 damage a turn for only one energy card.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the BREAKpoint set.  This card is a solid Fairy type Pokemon card from the BREAKpoint set and if you're building a fairy type deck, this card should garner should consideration, it is not over-powering by any means but can still do some damage fairy quickly.  Combined with Spritzee from this set, I would give this line a 3 out of 5 rating.

Spritzee -- BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Review

Spritzee BREAKpoint Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Spritzee from the BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Set.  Spritzee is a basic, fairy type Pokemon card with an hp of 50.  It has a x2 weakness to metal type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to darkness type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost. Spritzee does not have an Ability and it only has one move.  The only move that this card has is called Beat and for one colorless energy card this move does 10 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Spritzee is a basic Pokemon card with a stage 1 evolution in Aromatisse, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, you'll more than likely want to use this card with that Pokemon.  However, since I haven't reviewed that card yet, I'll just act as though I plan on using this card without its evolution.  So, on its own, unless you desperately need some starter type Pokemon cards in your deck, I would look elsewhere for a card to use for your deck.  The main reason I say this is because Spritzee has a low HP, other than that, this card has a low retreat cost and a quick move.  It would be better if you also were using Aromatisse because you could use this card for a turn, then evolve it.  So of course, if you do have this card in the active Pokemon spot your only option is to use Beat every turn.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  So in my opinion, on its own, without considering Aromatisse, this is a below average Basic Pokemon card that is essentially average overall except for its low HP.  So like I said above, there are plenty of better Basic Pokemon cards to use out there, but this one isn't too bad.

Togekiss EX -- BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Review

Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Togekiss EX from the BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Set.  Togekiss EX is a basic, EX, fairy type Pokemon card with an hp of 170. It has a x2 weakness to metal type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to darkness type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Togekiss EX does not have an Ability, but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Mighty Wind, for one fairy type energy card this move does 20 damage, plus it allows you to attach an energy card from your hand to one of your benched Pokemon.  Togekiss' second move is called Hurricane Wing, and for four energy cards, three colorless and one fairy, this move does 50 damage times the number of heads you get when flipping 4 coins.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, because Togekiss EX is a basic Pokemon card you won't need to use any other cards with this card.  But remember, because this card is an EX card, if this card is knocked out, two prize cards are taken instead of one.  So knowing this about Togekiss EX, if you're looking for a way to add more than one energy card to your Pokemon in a single turn, it may be beneficial to use Togekiss EX as a starter type Pokemon and repeatedly use Mighty Wind.  Otherwise, if you don't want to use Togekiss for this strategy, attach a Trick Coin trainer card to this card and wish yourself luck when using Hurricane Wind.  Personally, I would only use this card for Mighty Wind, Hurricane Wing requires too many energy cards and I don't like coin flip based moves.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is a below average EX Pokemon card from the BREAKpoint set.  I do like Togekiss' Mighty Wind move and it is good to start the game, but overall, this card is too under-powered and too slow to be used in a deck consistently, especially since you have to give up two prize cards when it is knocked out.  Although you could do worse than using this card in a deck, I would highly consider checking out other cards before this one.

Clefable -- BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Review

Clefable BREAKpoint Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Clefable from the BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Set.  Clefable is a stage 1, fairy type Pokemon card, with an hp of 100. It has a x2 weakness to metal type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to darkness type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Clefable does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Moon Barrier, for one fairy type energy card this move does 30 damage, plus it prevents all effects of an attack from a dragon type Pokemon during your opponent's next turn.  Clefable's second move is called Tumbling Attack, for three energy cards, two colorless and one fairy, this move does 50 damage plus 30 more damage if you get a heads when flipping a coin.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Clefable is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Clefairy into play (I reviewed Clefairy from this set yesterday) and then evolve Clefairy into Clefable.  If you read yesterday's review of Clefairy, you'll know that I thought that card was an average Basic Pokemon card overall, since it had two attacks, a solid HP, and a low retreat cost, and could be used as a starter type Pokemon to help set up your benched Pokemon.  So knowing this about Clefairy and looking at this Clefable card, I think it would be better if using Clefable to keep this line on the bench and use it only if you're facing dragon type Pokemon, that way, you only have to put one energy card on this line and can prevent your opponent's attack's from doing any damage if you use Clefable into the active Pokemon spot and use Moon Barrier every turn.  Because it would be best to keep this line on the bench until it is needed, I would recommend only using a 1-1 line of this Pokemon family.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the BREAKpoint set.  To me, there aren't any negatives with this card, it has a solid HP, low retreat cost, and two, good, not great moves.  Combined with Clefairy with this set, I would give this line a 3 out of 5 rating, the same rating I gave to each card individually.

Clefairy -- BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Review

Clefairy BREAKpoint Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Clefairy from the BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Set.  Clefairy is a basic, fairy type Pokemon card with an hp of 60.  It has a x2 weakness to metal type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to darkness type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost. Clefairy does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Sing and for one fairy energy card this move puts the defending Pokemon to sleep.  Clefairy's second move is called Double Slap and for two colorless energy cards this move does 10 damage times the number of heads you get when you flip two coins.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Clefairy is a basic Pokemon card with a stage 1 evolution in Clefable, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, you'll more than likely want to use this card with that Pokemon.  However, since I haven't reviewed that card yet, I'll just act as though I plan on using this card without its evolution.  So, on its own, if you're building a fairy type deck, this card could be used as a starter type Pokemon, since it has a solid HP, low retreat cost, and two quick moves.  You could use Sing first, and then while the defending Pokemon is asleep set up your benched Pokemon, or you could use a Double Colorless energy card and put a Trick Coin trainer on this card to potentially do 20 damage a turn.  If you're not building a fairy type deck, I would look elsewhere for a starter type Pokemon to use.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  So in my opinion, on its own, without considering Clefable, this is an average Basic Pokemon card from the BREAKpoint set.  There really isn't anything amazing on this card, but nothing terrible either, making this card average overall.  So like I said above, this card is worth consideration if you're trying to build a fairy type deck.

Ferrothorn -- BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Review

Ferrothorn BREAKpoint Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Ferrothorn from the BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Set.  Ferrothorn is a stage 1, metal type Pokemon card, with an hp of 100. It has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to psychic type Pokemon, and a three colorless energy card retreat cost.  Ferrothorn does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Metal Claw, for two energy cards, one each of metal and colorless, this move does 40 damage.  Ferrothorn's second move is called Spike Leash and for three energy cards, two colorless and one metal, this move does 10 damage to each of your opponent's Pokemon for each colorless energy card in their retreat cost.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Ferrothorn is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Ferroseed into play (I reviewed Ferroseed from this set yesterday) and then evolve Ferroseed into Ferrothorn.  If you read yesterday's review of Ferroseed, you'll know that I thought that card was a below average Pokemon card, mainly because it was slow on the attack, couldn't do any damage when attacking, and had a high retreat cost, however it could hold its own in the active Pokemon spot.  So knowing this about Ferroseed and looking at this Ferrothorn card, if you're building a metal type deck or a spread attack type deck, this card is a shoe-in, since Spike Lash is an incredible move.  So use a 1-1 line of this Pokemon family, get three energy cards on Ferrothorn, then use Spike Lash every turn when in the active Pokemon spot.  Most cards that spread damage around can do 10 damage to each of the opponent's Pokemon, however this card can do way more damage, potentially up to 40 damage for each Pokemon your opponent has in play.  So again, if you're building more specifically, a spread attack type deck, definitely use this card.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an above average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the BREAKpoint set.  A card that is extremely powerful in a spread attack type deck, and one that can be set up on the bench and played later in games.  Outside of having an amazing move, it does have one average move, a solid HP, but a very high retreat cost.  Overall, I would recommend using this line in a deck, and combined give Ferroseed and Ferrothorn from this set a 3 out of 5 rating.

Ferroseed -- BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Review

Ferroseed BREAKpoint Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Ferroseed from the BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Set.  Ferroseed is a basic, metal type Pokemon card with an hp of 60.  It has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to psychic type Pokemon, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost. Ferroseed does not have an Ability and it only has one move.  The only move this card has is called Harden and for two energy cards, one each of metal and colorless, this move prevents damage from your opponent's Pokemon's attacks during their next turn if that move does 60 damage or less.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Ferroseed is a basic Pokemon card with a stage 1 evolution in Ferrothorn, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, you'll more than likely want to use this card with that Pokemon.  However, since I haven't reviewed that card yet, I'll just act as though I plan on using this card without its evolution.  So, on its own, unless you just like to stall during your games, there isn't much of a reason to use this card in a deck, since it can't do any damage when attacking, and it requires two energy cards to attack.  The only plausible strategy for this card is to get it into the active Pokemon spot to start the game, spend two energy cards on this card, then use Harden every turn, until you get some of your benched Pokemon set up, then you can retreat this card and put one of your benched Pokemon in play.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  So in my opinion, on its own, without considering Ferrothorn, this is a below average Basic Pokemon card from the BREAKpoint set.  Other than not being able to do any damage when attacking and having a slow move and high retreat cost, this card is very good defensively and can help set up your bench.  But like I said above, unless you specifically like to stall when battling, this is a card that shouldn't be in many decks.

Mawile -- BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Review

Mawile BREAKpoint Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Mawile from the BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Set.  Mawile is a basic, metal type Pokemon card with an hp of 80, it has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to psychic type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Mawile does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Tight Jaw and for one colorless energy card this move does 10 damage, plus can paralyze the defending Pokemon if you get a heads when flipping a coin.  Mawile's second move is called Cavernous Chomp, and for three colorless energy cards this move does 50 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Mawile is a basic Pokemon with no evolutions, you only have to use this Pokemon in your deck if you want to use this card.  With that being said, this card could be an effective starter type Pokemon in a deck, since it has a high HP, quick move, and a low retreat cost, but since the move, which requires one colorless energy card, can only do 10 damage total, it won't be that good for too long, plus, Cavernous Chomp is under-powered.  But overall, if you're going to use this card in a deck, it can be used in any type deck out there, but unless you're using 4 Double Colorless energy cards in a deck, this card won't do much other than at the beginning of the game, so I would definitely not recommend using more than 1 of these cards.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an average Basic Pokemon card from the BREAKpoint set.  Even though Cavernous Chomp on this card is under-powered, I still think this card is average overall since it requires colorless energy cards to attack, can do damage very quickly, and can also inflict a special condition on the defending Pokemon.

M Scizor EX -- BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Review

M Scizor EX BREAKpoint Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of M Scizor EX from the BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Set.  M Scizor EX is a Mega Evolution, EX, metal type Pokemon card with an hp of 220. It has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to psychic type Pokemon, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  M Scizor does not have an Ability and it only has one move.  The only move that this card has is called Iron Crusher and for two metal type energy cards this move does 120 damage, plus it allows you to discard a special energy card attached to the active Pokemon or a stadium card in play.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
Before I start with the strategy, remember that this card is a Mega Evolution card and an EX card so if you use this card in your deck and it gets knocked out, your opponent gets to take two prize cards instead of one and when you evolve an EX card into its Mega Evolution, your turn ends, you cannot do anything else.  So knowing these things, you'll always want to use Mega Evolution cards with caution, with that being said, you'll always want to use the appropriate Spirit Link trainer card do evolve the EX card into its Mega EX form so you don't have to end your turn.  Knowing that Scizor EX from this set isn't all that powerful, if you're looking to play this Mega EX card, it would be a much better plan to set this line up on the bench, using a 1-1 line of this family in a metal type deck.  All you need is two energy cards on this card and you can do a huge amount of damage every turn.  So like I said, if you're building a metal type deck, this card should definitely be in it, being able to do 120 damage for only two energy cards is a great move and one that is quick enough you can start using this move just two turns into the game.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is a powerful attacking Mega EX Pokemon card from the BREAKpoint set.  Even though Scizor EX was a bit weaker from this set than what I'd like to see, I would still highly recommend using both of these Pokemon together in a metal type deck.  Together, I would give this line a 4 out of 5 rating, it is very good.

Scizor EX -- BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Review

Scizor EX BREAKpoint Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Scizor EX and Scizor EX Full Art from the BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Set.  Scizor EX is a basic, EX, metal type Pokemon card with an hp of 170. It has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to psychic type Pokemon, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Scizor EX does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Steel Wing, for one metal energy card this move does 20 damage, plus it reduces any damage against Scizor during your opponent's next turn by 20.  Scizor's second move is called Gale Thrust and for two metal energy cards this move does 50 damage plus 60 more damage if you Scizor was just moved from the bench to the active Pokemon spot.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, because Scizor EX is a basic Pokemon card you won't need to use any other cards with this card.  But remember, because this card is an EX card, if this card is knocked out, two prize cards are taken instead of one.  However, Scizor does have a mega evolution you could use from this set and I will be reviewing that card tomorrow, so this strategy below will act like Scizor EX does not have an evolution.  So knowing this, on its own, the only way I would recommend using this card is if you have a way in your deck to consistently move Scizor EX in and out of the active Pokemon spot, if you can do this for free, by using another Pokemon's Ability or re-using the same trainer card, you can then use Scizor EX every other turn and do 110 damage a turn for only two energy cards.  If you can't do this in your deck, do not use this card, it just isn't that good, both moves on their own aren't even average for an EX card.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an average EX Pokemon card from the BREAKpoint set, and it is only average if you can utilize the strategy I talked about above, on the whole this card just isn't that great and is under-powered as an EX card, so there are definitely better ones out there to use.

Pangoro -- BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Review

Pangoro BREAKpoint Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Pangoro from the BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Set.  Pangoro is a stage 1, darkness type Pokemon card, with an hp of 120. It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to psychic type Pokemon, and a three colorless energy card retreat cost.  Pangoro does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Parting Shot and for one darkness energy card this move does 10 damage plus it allows you to switch Pangoro with one of your benched Pokemon and it reduces any attacks during your opponent's next turn by 60.  Pangoro's second move is called Buster Swing and for three darkness energy cards this move does 90 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Pangoro is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Pancham into play (I reviewed Pancham a few days ago) and then evolve Pancham into Pangoro.  If you read my review of Pancham, you'll know other than having a higher retreat cost, the card was pretty average overall, having two quick attacking moves, a solid HP, and only requiring colorless type energy cards to attack.  So knowing this about Pancham and looking at this Pangoro card, this is a very solid card overall and one to use in a heavy darkness type deck for some power and a way to provide some defense for a Pokemon on your bench that has a little lower HP.  I would ideally start the game with Pancham in the active Pokemon spot doing 10 damage the first turn, 20 the second, then evolving Pancham into Pangoro and doing 90 damage a turn.  When Pangoro is close to being knocked out, you would use Parting Shot and provide some defense for your new active Pokemon.  This card also works well with Darkrai EX from this set since Pangoro requires all darkness type energy.  I could see using a 1-1 line of this Pokemon family in a darkness type deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an above average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the BREAKpoint set.  Other than having a higher retreat cost, which is nullified by Parting Shot, this card is very solid overall, having a high HP and a powerful attack.  Together with Pancham from this set, I would give these two cards a 4 out of 5 rating, both cards are solid and would make a nice addition to a deck.

Darkrai EX -- BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Review

Darkrai EX BREAKpoint Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Darkrai EX from the BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Set.  Darkrai EX is a basic, EX, darkness type Pokemon card with an hp of 180. It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to psychic type Pokemon, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Darkrai EX does not have an Ability, but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Dark Pulse, for two colorless energy cards this move does 20 damage plus 20 more damage for each darkness type energy card attached to all of your Pokemon.  Darkrai's second move is called Dark Head and for three energy cards, two colorless and one darkness, this move does 80 damage plus 80 more damage if the defending Pokemon is asleep.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, because Darkrai EX is a basic Pokemon card you won't need to use any other cards with this card.  But remember, because this card is an EX card, if this card is knocked out, two prize cards are taken instead of one.  So knowing this about Darkrai EX, I would highly recommend using this card in a heavy darkness type deck.  You could then get many of your Pokemon set up, then move Darkrai into the active Pokemon spot and use Dark Pulse every turn, doing major damage since you have so many darkness energy cards in play.  If you don't have a majority of darkness type Pokemon in your deck, I wouldn't recommend this card.  Another strategy you could use with this card is to have a Pokemon that can put the defending Pokemon to sleep, then be able to quickly rotate between that Pokemon and Darkrai EX, so you can do 180 damage a turn with Dark Head.  Overall, this is a pretty powerful Pokemon card that should be used in darkness type decks, and in other type decks, should at least be considered.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is a very good EX Pokemon card from the BREAKpoint set.  If you're building a darkness type deck, this card should be one used in that deck, since it can do so much damage when darkness energy are in play.  So if you're looking for a pretty powerful attacker, that doesn't require that many energy cards to use, I would highly recommend this Darkrai EX card.

Shiftry -- BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Review

Shiftry BREAKpoint Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Shiftry from the BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Set.  Shiftry is a stage 2, darkness type Pokemon card, with an hp of 140.  It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to psychic type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Shiftry does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Roll Up, for two energy cards, one each of darkness and colorless, this move says to flip 3 coins, if any are heads, your opponent must show you their hand, then for each heads, you get to discard a card from your opponent's hand.  Shiftry's second move is called Otherworldly Return and for three energy cards, two colorless and one darkness, this move does 60 damage, plus it allows you to return a trainer card from your discard pile back into your hand.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Shiftry is a stage 2 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Seedot into play and then evolve it into Nuzleaf before you can evolve Nuzleaf into Shiftry, both of those Pokemon are from this set and I've reviewed both of them previously.  If you've read my reviews of those cards you'll know that I thought both Pokemon were below average overall.  I liked the fact that both Pokemon could attack quickly, but both were limited in the amount of damage you could do and both had lower HP than I'd like to see on a Basic and Stage 1 evolution.  So knowing this about the first two Pokemon in this line and looking at this Shiftry card, the reason you'd want to use this entire line in a deck is because of its Roll Up move, attach a Trick Coin trainer to this Pokemon and you have a very good chance at really disrupting your opponent's strategy, plus you'll know which cards your opponent has.  So while I wouldn't recommend this line be your main Pokemon in a deck, I could see using a 1-1-1 line of this Pokemon family to implement this strategy.  Plus, like I said, all three Pokemon in this line have decent attacks, so you could always use them to attack if need be.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is an average Stage 2 Pokemon card that could be really good in certain situations.  If your opponent is unable to retrieve cards from their discard pile, Shiftry is a game changer and a card that could be rated a 5 out of 5.  Other than that, this card is average overall, being able to do 60 damage for three energy cards, and having a low retreat cost.  Together with the first two Pokemon in this line, which I each gave a 2 out of 5 rating, this entire line gets a 3 out of 5 rating from me.

Nuzleaf -- BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Review

Nuzleaf BREAKpoint Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Nuzleaf from the BREAKpoint Pokemon Card set.  Nuzleaf is a stage 1, darkness type Pokemon card, with an hp of 80.  It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to psychic type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Nuzleaf does not have an Ability, but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Corkscrew Punch and for one darkness energy card this move does 20 damage.  Razor Wind is Nuzleaf's second move, and for two colorless energy cards this move can do 40 damage if you get a heads when flipping a coin, otherwise the move does nothing.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Nuzleaf is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Seedot into play (I reviewed Seedot from this set a couple of weeks ago) and then evolve Seedot into Nuzleaf.  Nuzleaf does have a Stage 2 evolution in Shiftry, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, that you'll probably want to use with this Pokemon line but since I haven't reviewed that card yet, the strategy below will act like Nuzleaf is the final evolution in this line.  So if you read my review of Seedot, which was a grass type Pokemon, you'll know I thought that card was a below average Basic Pokemon, it could attack quickly, doing 10 damage, but was limited in what it could do having only one move and it also had a lower HP.  So knowing this about Seedot and looking at this Nuzleaf card, this card is very similar, having a lower HP, and two decent moves, both quick on the attack, but neither doing enough damage to warrant use of this card in a deck.  So I wouldn't play either Seedot or Nuzleaf in a deck without using Shiftry.  Of course, if you get Nuzleaf into the active Pokemon spot, I would recommend using Corkscrew Punch every turn, unless you can attach a Trick Coin trainer to this card thus giving you two shots at doing 40 damage with Razor Wind.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a below average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the BREAKpoint set.  I do like that this card has two moves, both quick on the attack, however, this card can't do major damage every single turn, and add a low HP into the mix, and this is a card that shouldn't be used in a deck.  So far, I am not impressed with this line, together I would give Seedot and Nuzleaf from this set a 1 out of 5 rating.  Both received 2 ratings individually.

Pancham -- BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Review

Pancham BREAKpoint Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Pancham from the BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Set.  Pancham is a basic, fighting type Pokemon card with an hp of 60.  It has a x2 weakness to psychic type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost. Pancham does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Light Punch and for one colorless energy card this move does 10 damage.  Pancham's second move is called Confront and for two colorless energy cards, this move does 20 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Pancham is a basic Pokemon card with a stage 1 evolution in Pangoro, which I'll be reviewing in a couple of days since it is a darkness type Pokemon, you'll more than likely want to use this card with that Pokemon.  However, since I haven't reviewed that card yet, I'll just act as though I plan on using this card without its evolution.  So, on its own, this card is a very good starter type Pokemon for any type deck out there, since it has two moves, both doing damage, and both very quick to use, and since both moves require colorless type energy, it can work in any deck.  So I would definitely consider using this Pancham card when building a deck, just to get another Basic Pokemon in your deck and to be able to start attacking very quickly.  The only thing you'll want to be aware of with this Pancham card is that its retreat cost is higher than its attack cost for its first move.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  So in my opinion, on its own, without considering Pangoro, this is an average Basic Pokemon card, with the only downfall being a higher retreat cost than normal.  But, if you're building a deck, I would strongly consider using this card in it, you can't go wrong by using this card.

Garchomp -- BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Review

Garchomp BREAKpoint Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Garchomp from the BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Set.  Garchomp is a stage 2, fighting type Pokemon card, with an hp of 130.  It has a x2 weakness to grass type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a free retreat cost.  Garchomp does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Turbo Assault, for one fighting type energy card this move does 60 damage, plus it allows you to attach an energy card from your discard pile to one of your Pokemon.  Garchomp's second move is called Bite Off and for two fighting type energy cards this move does 80 damage plus 80 more damage if you're facing an EX Pokemon.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Garchomp is a stage 2 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Gible into play and then evolve it into Gabite before you can evolve Gabite into Garchomp, both of those Pokemon are from this set and I've reviewed both of them the last two days.  If you've read my reviews of those cards you'll know that I thought both Pokemon were below average overall.  Both cards were very limited in what they could, having only one move, where Gible couldn't do any damage and Gabite had a low HP.  So knowing this about the first two Pokemon in this line and looking at this Garchomp card, because the first two Pokemon are so poor and the fact that Garchomp has a free retreat cost, I would highly recommend setting this line up on the bench and only using a 1-1-1 line of each.  You could get two energy cards on Garchomp, then either way to move it to the active Pokemon spot when an EX is in the active Pokemon spot, or wait until later in the game when most of your energy is in the discard pile and use Turbo Assault every turn to retrieve those energy cards.  Either way, I think Garchomp is a fine addition to a fighting type deck, and even though the first two Pokemon in this line are poorer, this card is still worth it.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a very good Stage 2 Pokemon card from the BREAKpoint set.  Other than having a slightly lower HP than I'd like to see, this card has two great moves, both doing major damage and for hardly any energy at all.  A thing that boosts this card greatly is its free retreat cost, which makes it a good card to keep on your bench and move to the active Pokemon spot at opportune times.  Together with Gible and Gabite from this set, which both received below average ratings from me, this line gets a 3 out of 5 rating.
