Yanma -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Pokemon Card Overview:

Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Yanma from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  Yanma is a basic, grass type Pokemon card with an hp of 70.  It has a x2 weakness to colorless type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to fighting type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost. Yanma does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Scout, for one colorless energy card this move allows you to see all of the cards in your opponent's hand.  The second move that Yanma has is called Speed Dive, for three colorless energy cards this move does 40 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Yanma is a basic Pokemon card with a stage 1 evolution in Yanmega, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, you'll more than likely want to use this card with that Pokemon.  However, since I haven't reviewed that card yet, I'll just act as though I plan on using this card without its evolution.  So, on its own, unless you really want to know what your opponent has in their hand, this card isn't worth using in a deck, because it is a waste of energy cards to put three of them on this card to do only 40 damage.  So if you want to use Scout, I would get Yanma into the active Pokemon spot the first turn of the game, use Scout once, and then retreat Yanma the next turn.  This card will fit in any type deck since it requires colorless energy only which helps Scout's cause.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  So in my opinion, on its own, without considering Yanmega, this is a below average Basic Pokemon card overall.  This card is just too under-powered for my liking but it does have a solid HP, two moves, and a low retreat cost, so it wouldn't be the worse thing in the world to have to use this card in a deck.
