Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Ferroseed from the BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Set. Ferroseed is a basic, metal type Pokemon card with an hp of 60. It has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to psychic type Pokemon, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost. Ferroseed does not have an Ability and it only has one move. The only move this card has is called Harden and for two energy cards, one each of metal and colorless, this move prevents damage from your opponent's Pokemon's attacks during their next turn if that move does 60 damage or less.
Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Ferroseed is a basic Pokemon card with a stage 1 evolution in Ferrothorn, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, you'll more than likely want to use this card with that Pokemon. However, since I haven't reviewed that card yet, I'll just act as though I plan on using this card without its evolution. So, on its own, unless you just like to stall during your games, there isn't much of a reason to use this card in a deck, since it can't do any damage when attacking, and it requires two energy cards to attack. The only plausible strategy for this card is to get it into the active Pokemon spot to start the game, spend two energy cards on this card, then use Harden every turn, until you get some of your benched Pokemon set up, then you can retreat this card and put one of your benched Pokemon in play.
Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating. So in my opinion, on its own, without considering Ferrothorn, this is a below average Basic Pokemon card from the BREAKpoint set. Other than not being able to do any damage when attacking and having a slow move and high retreat cost, this card is very good defensively and can help set up your bench. But like I said above, unless you specifically like to stall when battling, this is a card that shouldn't be in many decks.
