Seadra -- Burning Shadows Pokemon Card Review

Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Seadra from the Burning Shadows Pokemon Card set.  Seadra is a Stage 1, Water type Pokemon card, with a HP of 80.  It has a x2 weakness to Grass type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one Colorless Energy card retreat cost.  This card does not have an Ability and it only has one move.  The only move that Seadra has is called Water Arrow, for one Water Energy card, this move does 30 damage to one of your opponent's Pokemon.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Seadra is a Stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Horsea into play (I reviewed Horsea from this set yesterday) and then evolve Horsea into Seadra.  Horsea does have a Stage 2 evolution in Kingdra, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, that you'll probably want to use with this Pokemon line but since I haven't reviewed that card yet, the strategy below will act like Seadra is the final evolution in this line.  So if you read my review of Horsea, you'll know that I thought that card was an average to slightly below average Basic Pokemon card.  The card had a solid HP, could attack for only one Energy, and had a low retreat cost, the only thing negative with the card was that it was limited by having only one move that could do a maximum of only 10 damage.  Knowing this about Horsea and looking at this Seadra card, this card is very similar to Horsea, in just having the one move that requires only one Energy card, and this move being able to attack any of your opponent's Pokemon in play, but instead of doing 10 damage 30.  While this card can certainly do more damage than Horsea, as a Stage 1 Pokemon, it is limited by having a low HP, so this is another below average card overall and a line I would shy away from unless Kingdra in this set is excellent.

Pokemon Card Rating:  
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a below average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Burning Shadows set.  Although I like that this card can attack quickly and do 30 damage to any Pokemon in play, this card has too low of a HP and is too restricted by having only one move to want me to use in a deck.  Together with Horsea from this set, which is very similar, I would give these two cards a 2 out of 5 rating, the same rating I gave each card individually.

Seadra -- Primal Clash Pokemon Card Review

Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Seadra from the Primal Clash Pokemon Card set.  Seadra is a stage 1, water type Pokemon card, with an hp of 80.  It has a x2 weakness to grass type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Seadra does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Knockout Needle, for one water energy card this move does 10 damage plus 40 more damage if you get two heads when you flip two coins.  Seadra's second move is called Water Gun, this move requires two energy cards to use, one each of colorless and water and does 30 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Seadra is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Horsea into play (I reviewed Horsea from this set yesterday) and then evolve Horsea into Seadra.  Seadra does have a stage 2 evolution in Kingdra that you'll probably want to use with this Pokemon line but since I haven't reviewed that card yet, which is a dragon type card, the strategy below will act like Seadra is the final evolution in this line.  So if you read yesterday's review of Horsea, you'll know that I thought it was a very poor Basic Pokemon card since the only move it had could not do any damage at all, and the only thing it could do, paralysis, was still based on a coin flip.  So knowing how poor Horsea from this set is, and looking at this Seadra card, I wouldn't not recommend using this Pokemon line in a deck, at least the two of them without using Kingdra.  In my opinion, the moves on Seadra are more commonly seen on Basic Pokemon and since this is a Stage 1 card with a very poor Basic evolution, I cannot recommend using this line in a deck.  If you choose to use just Horsea and Seadra in a deck, don't use more than a 1-1 line and try and get Horsea evolved into Seadra immediately and use Water Gun every turn.  This card can still attack pretty quickly, which is good, and maybe if you're feeling lucky, you'll be able to do 50 damage a turn with Seadra.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a below average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Primal Clash set.  Besides having two moves that can attack quickly and a low retreat cost, this card isn't that great, with a low HP, and two weaker moves, coupled with a very poor Horsea card, this line just shouldn't be used in a deck.  Together with Horsea from this set, I can't give this family a combined rating of anything higher than a 1 out of 5, stay away.

Seadra -- Plasma Freeze Pokemon Card Review

Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Seadra from the Plasma Freeze Pokemon Card Set.  Seadra is a stage 1, water type Pokemon card, with an hp of 80.  It has a x2 weakness to lightning type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Seadra does not have an Ability and it only has one move.  The only move that this card has is called Smokescreen, for one water energy card this card does 20 damages, plus if your opponent tries to attack during their next turn your opponent must flip a coin, if they get tails they can't attack at all.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Seadra is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Horsea into play (I reviewed Horsea from this set yesterday) and then evolve Horsea into Seadra.  Seadra does have a stage 2 evolution in Kingdra that you'll probably want to use with this Pokemon line but since I haven't reviewed that card yet, the strategy below will act like Seadra is the final evolution in this line.  Just a note, Kingdra in this set is a dragon type Pokemon card that uses lightning and water type energy cards to attack, so you may want to consider putting this line in that type of deck, but I will be reviewing Kingdra in a couple of weeks.  So if you read yesterday's Horsea review, you'll know that I thought Horsea was a below average Pokemon that I would not recommend using on its own.  So after summarizing this Seadra card in the overview part of this post, I can say that I would not recommend using Horsea or Seadra together without using Kingdra.  The reason I say this is because Seadra has a below average hp, and only one move that does below average damage for a stage 1 Pokemon card.  So I would avoid this cards altogether.  If you do choose to use Seadra in your deck, I would put a 1-1 or 2-1 line of Horsea and Seadra in a water type deck and try and evolve Horsea into Seadra as soon as possible during the game, move Seadra to the active Pokemon spot and use Smokescreen every turn.  Because Seadra is quite fast, you should attack with this card right away, and hopefully your opponent will flip a few tails when trying to attack so Seadra will last longer in the active Pokemon spot and give you time to set up your other Pokemon in play.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a below average stage 1 Pokemon card. I do like that this Seadra card is very fast and has a low retreat cost, but 20 damage per turn really doesn't cut it for a stage 1 Pokemon card, and with only 80 hp, Seadra will get knocked out pretty fast.  Overall, I would give the line of Horsea and Seadra from the Plasma Freeze set a 1 out of 5 rating, both cards are below average and should not be used in a deck.
