Nosepass -- Guardians Rising Pokemon Card Review

Pokemon Card Overview:

Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Nosepass from the Guardians Rising Pokemon Card Set.  Nosepass is a Basic, Fighting type Pokemon card with a HP of 80.  It has a x2 weakness to Grass type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a three Colorless Energy card retreat cost.  Nosepass does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move on this card is called Ram, for two Colorless Energy cards this move does 20 damage.  Rising Lunge is this card's second move, for three Energy cards, one Fighting and two Colorless, this move does 30 damage plus 30 more damage if you get a heads when flipping a coin.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Nosepass is a Basic Pokemon card with a Stage 1 evolution in Probopass, which is a Metal type Pokemon in this set and I'll be reviewing in a few weeks, you'll more than likely want to use this card with that Pokemon.  However, since I haven't reviewed that card yet, I'll just act as though I plan on using this card without its evolution.  So, on its own, there is really no reason to use this card, mainly because it is slow on the attack, has a high retreat cost, and is under-powered.  The only way this card can even do average damage is if you use Rising Lunge and get a heads when flipping a coin, and even then, with only 80 HP, there is no real reason to put three Energy cards on this card.  So unless you need to use this card to get to Probopass, do not use this card in your deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 1 out of 5 rating.  So in my opinion, on its own, without considering Probopass, this is a well below average card overall.  This card does have a decent HP and two moves, that both do damage, but like I mentioned above, this card is slow on the attack, has a high retreat cost, so you can't retreat it right away if you're forced to put this card into the Active Pokemon spot, and can only do a good amount of damage with some luck, so look elsewhere for Basic Pokemon to use in a Fighting type deck.

Nosepass -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Pokemon Card Overview:

Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Nosepass from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  Nosepass is a basic, fighting type Pokemon card with a HP of 70.  It has a x2 weakness to grass type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Nosepass does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Thunder Wave, for one colorless energy card this move paralyzes the defending Pokemon if you get a heads when flipping a coin.  Nosepass's second move is called Rolling Tackle and for three energy cards, one fighting and two colorless, this move does 40 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Nosepass is a basic Pokemon card with a stage 1 evolution in Probopass, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, you'll more than likely want to use this card with that Pokemon.  However, since I haven't reviewed that card yet, I'll just act as though I plan on using this card without its evolution.  So, on its own, unless you're using a full set of Trick Coin trainer cards, there isn't a path for using this card in a deck without Probopass.  The main reason I say this is because you don't want to use this card solely for Thunder Wave since it is based on a coin flip and its retreat cost is higher than Thunder Wave's attack cost, and, unless you use one fighting energy card and one Double Colorless energy card, Rolling Tackle does below average damage.  So although this card does have an above average HP and two moves, I would feel much safer not using this card in a deck or allowing it to sit on your bench while you wait to evolve it into Probopass.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  So in my opinion, on its own, without considering Probopass, this is a below average Basic Pokemon card.  This card does have an above average HP, but both of the moves this card have are below average, and this card has a somewhat high retreat cost.  Overall, although this card isn't terrible, it isn't one that I would recommend using on its own.

Nosepass -- Primal Clash Pokemon Card Review

Pokemon Card Overview:

Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Nosepass from the Primal Clash Pokemon Card Set.  Nosepass is a basic, fighting type Pokemon card with an hp of 80.  It has a x2 weakness to grass type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a three colorless energy card retreat cost. Nosepass does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Stiffen, for two colorless energy cards, this move reduces attacks done to Nosepass by your opponent's Pokemon during their next turn by 40.  Nosepass's second move is called Ram, this move requires three energy cards to use, two colorless and one fighting, and does 40 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Nosepass is a basic Pokemon card with a stage 1 evolution in Probopass, which I'll be reviewing in a few weeks since it is a metal type Pokemon, you'll more than likely want to use this card with that Pokemon.  However, since I haven't reviewed that card yet, I'll just act as though I plan on using this card without its evolution.  So, on its own, I would avoid this card at all costs, meaning I would definitely not use this card in a deck.  I say this because even though Nosepass has a high HP, both moves it has are extremely slow to use, and the one move that actually does damage, does well below average damage, plus throw in a high retreat cost, and this card is definitely not usable on its own.  This card would probably be fine to use with Probopass since you would only need two energy cards on this card to stall, while you're able to evolve it into Probopass, but again, if you're looking to use this card as a starter Pokemon, please look elsewhere.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 1 out of 5 rating.  So in my opinion, on its own, without considering Probopass, this card is very poor.  Like I stated in the strategy section above, the only thing good on this card is its HP, everything else is below average and to use this card on its own would be foolish.  Hopefully when I review Probopass it makes up for how poor this card is.
