Meowth -- Burning Shadows Pokemon Card Review

Meowth Burning Shadows Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Meowth from the Burning Shadows Pokemon Card Set.  Meowth is a Basic, Colorless type Pokemon card with a HP of 60.  It has a x2 weakness to Fighting type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one Colorless Energy card retreat cost.  This card does not have an Ability and it only has one move.  The only move on this card is called Fake Out, for one Colorless Energy card, this move does 10 damage, plus, if you get a heads when flipping a coin, the defending Pokemon is Paralyzed.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Meowth is a Basic Pokemon card with a Stage 1 evolution in Persian, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, you'll more than likely want to use this card with that Pokemon.  However, since I haven't reviewed that card yet, I'll just act as though I plan on using this card without its evolution.  So, on its own, you never really want to use anything with such a low HP and a low attack.  But, if you are building a Colorless type deck or if you're using Persian in your deck, this is a very good card to use, since it can attack for one Energy, and if used early in games, can prevent your opponent from attacking, giving you more time to get your Benched Pokemon set up.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  So in my opinion, on its own, without considering Persian, this is an average to slightly below average Basic Pokemon card from the Burning Shadows set.  Like I mentioned above, this card shouldn't be used on its own often, but as a Basic Pokemon that has a Stage 1 evolution, this is certainly a solid one, with an average HP, and a move that both does damage and has the potential to inflict a Special Condition.

Meowth -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Meowth Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Meowth from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  Meowth is a basic, colorless type Pokemon card with a HP of 60.  It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Meowth does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Stall, for one colorless energy card this move, this move allows you to discard an energy attached to one of your opponent's Pokemon, however, this move can only be used during your first turn and only if you go second.  Meowth's second move is called Scratch, for two colorless energy cards, this move does 20 damage.

So, on its own, unless you have a set of 4 Double Colorless energy cards in your deck, I would pass on using this card.  If you are using Double Colorless energy, you could use this card as a starter type Pokemon and do 20 damage your first turn.  Stall doesn't do much for me, outside of only being able to use it your first turn of the game, it still only has a 50% chance of being able to be used, plus your opponent may not have any energy on their Pokemon anyway.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  So in my opinion, on its own, without considering Persian, this is a slightly below average Basic Pokemon card.  There is really nothing terrible about this card, it has a solid HP, low retreat cost, and two moves, but this card is somewhat slow on the attack and there are just better Basic Pokemon cards out there to use.

Meowth -- Fates Collide Pokemon Card Review

Meowth Fates Collide Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Meowth from the Fates Collide Pokemon Card Set.  Meowth is a basic, colorless type Pokemon card with an hp of 70.  It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost. Meowth does not have an Ability and it only has one move called Turmoil Strike.  For two colorless energy cards, this move does 50 damage to one of your opponent's Pokemon that has damage counters on it.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Meowth is a basic Pokemon card with a stage 1 evolution in Persian, which isn't in the Fates Collide set but is in the Steam Siege set, you'll more than likely want to use Persian with this card.  However, since I haven't reviewed that card yet, I'll just act as though I plan on using this card without its evolution.  So, on its own, the only scenario where you'll want to use this card is in a spread attack type deck where you have a Pokemon that does 10 or 20 damage to all of your opponent's benched Pokemon, that way if you move Meowth into the active Pokemon spot it has the chance to attack any of your opponent's Pokemon since they all have damage on them.  That is really the only scenario you can actually play this card, this card can't be used as a starter type Pokemon, number one because it is slower on the attack, and number two because this card can't attack a Pokemon unless it has damage on it already.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  So in my opinion, on its own, this is a well below average Basic Pokemon card unless you're using it in a spread attack type deck.  Even though this card is pretty unusable, I am still giving this card not my lowest rating just because it does have a solid HP, can be used in any type deck, and has a low retreat cost.  So overall, like I said a couple of times, do not use unless you plan on using Persian or you're using a spread attack type deck.

Meowth -- BREAKthrough Pokemon Card Review

Meowth BREAKthrough Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Meowth from the BREAKthrough Pokemon Card Set.  Meowth is a basic, colorless type Pokemon card with an hp of 60.  It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost. Meowth does not have an Ability and it only has one move.  This move is called Exhausted Tackle, for one colorless energy card this move does 30 damage to either the defending Pokemon or Meowth depending on if you get a heads or tails respectively.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Meowth is a basic Pokemon card with a stage 1 evolution in Persian, with the most recent Persian card being in the Ancient Origins and Generations sets, you'll more than likely want to use this card with that Pokemon, so you'll have to go back and read my review of Persian from Ancient Origins.  In this section, I will only be looking at Meowth on its own.  So on its own, there is no way you want to use this card in a deck, yes it can do major damage for only one energy card, and it warrants a look if you attach a Trick Coin trainer to this card giving you two chances at getting a heads when using Exhausted Tackle, but it is awfully risky to do 30 damage to Meowth and knock itself out in two turns.  So unless you like lots of risk, I would look elsewhere for a Basic Pokemon to use in any type deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  So in my opinion, on its own, without considering Persian, this is a below average Basic Pokemon card, one that does have an average HP, low retreat cost, and potential to do above average damage every turn.  But because this card has the potential to do 30 damage to Meowth a turn, I cannot recommend using this card in a deck.

Meowth -- Ancient Origins Pokemon Card Review

Meowth Ancient Origins Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Meowth from the Ancient Origins Pokemon Card Set.  Meowth is a basic, colorless type Pokemon card with an hp of 60.  It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost. Meowth does not have an Ability or an Ancient Trait and it only has one move.  The only move that this card has is called Act Tough, for one colorless energy card this move does 10 damage plus 20 more damage if Meowth has a darkness type energy card attached to it.

So, on its own, if you're building a darkness type deck, this card is definitely worth a consideration, since it can do 30 damage a turn for only one energy card.  If not, I wouldn't use this card in a deck just because doing 10 damage a turn isn't very good and will limit you especially if you have to use Meowth later in games.  So, if building a darkness type deck, I would considering 2 to 3 Meowth cards, otherwise I would avoid.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  So in my opinion, on its own, without considering Persian, this is an average Basic Pokemon card but becomes above average if used in a darkness type deck doing up to 30 damage a turn.  So like I said several times so far, definitely use this card in a darkness type deck, but outside of that type deck, there are plenty of better cards to use out there.

Meowth -- Roaring Skies Pokemon Card Review

Meowth Roaring Skies Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Meowth from the Roaring Skies Pokemon Card Set.  Meowth is a basic, colorless type Pokemon card with an hp of 60.  It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost. Meowth does not have an Ability or Ancient Trait but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Feelin' Fine, for one colorless energy card this move allows you to draw a card.  Meowth's second move is called Fury Swipes and for three energy cards, all colorless, this move does 20 damage times the number of heads you get when you flip three coins.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Meowth is a basic Pokemon card with a stage 1 evolution in Persian, you'll more than likely want to use this card with that Pokemon.  However, since there isn't a Persian card in this set, I will have to wait and review the one from Ancient Origins, so I will just look at this Meowth card on its own with no relation to Persian from either Ancient Origins or Next Destinies.  So, on its own, I would not recommend using this card in a deck.  The main reason I say this is because this card is extremely slow on the attack, at least if you want to do damage, and if you do get three energy cards on Meowth, you need to get three heads in a row in order to do average damage for the amount of energy cards required to do Fury Swipes.  So instead of using Meowth in a deck, use a Trainer card that allows you to draw cards to replace Feelin' Fine, and use one of many Stage 1 and Stage 2 Pokemon cards out there that can do 60 damage every single time for three energy cards.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 1 out of 5 rating.  So in my opinion, on its own, without considering Persian, this is a very poor Basic Pokemon card from the Roaring Skies set.  Even though this card has a low retreat cost, average HP, and two moves, I am still giving this card my lowest rating just because neither move I like at all on this card, and for a card that really doesn't have any glaring negatives about it, this card just doesn't do anything at all for me, so make sure to find a better basic Pokemon card to use in your deck.

Meowth -- Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card Review

Meowth Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Meowth from the Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card Set.  Meowth is a basic, colorless type Pokemon card with an hp of 60.  It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Mewoth does not have an Ability and it only has 1 move.  The only move it has is called Fake Out, this move requires two colorless energy cards and does 20 damage, plus if you get a heads when you flip a coin, the defending Pokemon is paralyzed.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Mewoth is a basic Pokemon card with a stage 1 evolution in Persian, usually you'll want to use a basic Pokemon card with its evolution, however there is not a Persian card in this set and the last set to have one in was Next Destinies, I reviewed that card here.  If you read that review, you'll know that I didn't think Persian was very well, so you may be better off not using this line at all in a deck or just putting one Meowth card in a random deck.  If you have Meowth in a deck, you'll want to put two energy cards on it and then use Fake Out every turn.  This card will do better earlier in a game because of its ability to paralyze Pokemon, that way, when a Pokemon is paralyzed it will keep Meowth in the active Pokemon spot longer which allows you to set up your Pokemon longer.  Like I said previously, I would not put more than 1 Meowth card in a deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an average basic Pokemon card, it has average hp, an average retreat cost, and decent move.  I do like that this card can be used in any deck, however I wish the card would have a move that only requires one energy card to use instead of two.
