Joltik -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Joltik Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Joltik from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card Set.  Joltik is a basic, lightning type Pokemon card with an hp of 30.  It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to metal type Pokemon, and a free retreat cost.  Joltik does not have an Ability and it only has one move called Attach which does 10 damage for one lightning energy card.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Joltik is a basic Pokemon card with a stage 1 evolution in Galvantula, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, you'll more than likely want to use this card with that Pokemon.  However, since I haven't reviewed that card yet, I'll just act as though I plan on using this card without its evolution.  So, on its own, there really is no way you can play this card in a deck, mainly because of its extremely low HP, this card may last one turn early in the game, but later in the game, it is pretty much a guaranteed one hit knockout.  It is disappointing this card has such a low HP since it has a free retreat cost and a solid move, but because of that HP, there is really never a time that this card should be in the active Pokemon spot, unless you can make its HP 50 or more.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 1 out of 5 rating.  So in my opinion, on its own, without considering Galvantula, this is a very poor Basic Pokemon card from the Steam Siege set.  All because of this card's low HP, this card is unusable, it is as weak as Magikarp, so unless you need this card to get to Galvantula, do not use this card in a deck.

Joltik -- Phantom Forces Pokemon Card Review

Joltik Phantom Forces Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Joltik from the Phantom Forces Pokemon Card Set.  Joltik is a basic, lightning type Pokemon card with an hp of 30.  It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to metal type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost. Joltik does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Gnaw, for one lightning energy card this move does 10 damage.  Joltik's second move is called Night March, and for two colorless energy cards this move does 20 damage times the number of Pokemon in your discard pile that have the move Night March on them.

So, on its own I would avoid this card at all costs.  Plain and simple, this card isn't good because it has a terribly low HP and can easily be knocked out in one move by most Stage 1 and Stage 2 Pokemon.  It is nice that this card has two moves, but you're never going to be able to use Joltik long enough to have Night March do more than zero damage, and Gnaw is an average move dozens of Basic Pokemon cards have, doing 10 damage for one energy card.  So again, do not use this card in a deck, the only way I would ever use this card is if I was using Galvantula with it, then I would make sure and evolve Joltik into Galvantula on the bench.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 1 out of 5 rating.  So in my opinion, on its own, without considering Galvantula, this card is a very poor Basic Pokemon card.  There really isn't one thing on this card I like, it has a low HP, and two poor moves, but those moves won't matter much because as soon as you put Joltik in the active Pokemon spot it is going to be knocked out anyway.  So do not use this card in a deck if possible.

Joltik -- Plasma Storm Pokemon Card Review

Joltik Plasma Storm Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Joltik from the Plasma Storm Pokemon Card Set.  Joltik is a basic, lightning type Pokemon card with an hp of 40.  It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Joltik does not have an Ability and it only has one move. The only move this card has is called Jump On, this move requires one lightning energy card and does 10 damage plus 10 more damage if you get a heads when you flip a coin.

So on its own, Joltik wouldn't be the greatest basic Pokemon card to use in your lightning type deck, even though Jump On is a good move, that is Joltik's only move, and only being able to do 10 or 20 damage a turn while only having 40 hp won't get you very far in a game.  So I would not recommend using this card in a deck on its own.  If you choose to use this card, I wouldn't use more than one in a deck and your best option is to get this card into the active Pokemon spot as early as possible and start using Jump On right away.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is a below average basic Pokemon card.  I am not giving this card a 1 rating because other than its low hp, this card isn't too bad, but still I would have liked to see a higher hp or at least another move, because just using this card in a deck isn't a good idea since this card has such a low hp.
