Deoxys EX Full Art -- Plasma Freeze Pokemon Card Review

Deoxys EX Full Art Plasma Freeze Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Deoxys EX Full Art from the Plasma Freeze Pokemon Card Set.  Deoxys is a basic, EX, psychic type Pokemon card with an hp of 170. It has a x2 weakness to psychic type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Deoxys EX's Ability is called Power Connect and makes each of your Team Plasma Pokemon do 10 more damage when attacking.  Besides the Ability, Deoxys EX Full Art's only move is called Helix Force, this move requires two energy cards, one each of psychic and colorless, and does 30 damage plus if Deoxys has a Plasma Energy card attached to it, it does 30 more damage for each energy card attached to the defending Pokemon.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, because Deoxys EX is a basic Pokemon card you won't need to use any other cards with this card.  But remember, because this card is an EX card, if this card is knocked out, two prize cards are taken instead of one.  Just like yesterday's Metagross card, this card will do best in a Team Plasma heavy Pokemon deck.  That way you can utilize Deoxys' Ability to the max and do more damage with each of your Team Plasma Pokemon every turn, when Deoxys in on your bench.  So I would definitely recommend using this card in a deck, I would keep it on the bench until your opponent moves a Pokemon into the active Pokemon spot that has at least 3 energy cards attached to it, then I would put Deoxys into the active Pokemon spot and use Helix Force, as long as you have a Plasma Energy card attached to Deoxys it would then be able to do 120 damage per turn to that Pokemon.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 5 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an excellent EX Pokemon card.  I am giving this card a perfect rating because both its Ability and only move are both very good, and using this card in a Team Plasma deck is a no brainer.  I like how Deoxys EX Full Art aids your fellow Team Plasma Pokemon with its Ability as well as prevents your Pokemon from attaching too many energy cards to its Pokemon because if they do, you can knock that Pokemon out that much easier with Helix Force.  So again, this is an awesome EX Pokemon card and definitely one of the best EX cards from the Plasma Freeze set.

Heatran EX Full Art -- Plasma Freeze Pokemon Card Review

Heatran EX Full Art Plasma Freeze Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Heatran EX Full Art from the Plasma Freeze Pokemon Card Set.  Heatran is a basic, EX, fire type Pokemon card with an hp of 180. It has a x2 weakness to water type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a three colorless energy card retreat cost.  Heatran EX does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Heat Boiler, this move requires three energy cards, two colorless and one fire and does 60 damage, unless Heatran is affected by a special condition, then this move does 120 damage instead.  Heatran's second move is called Dynamite Press, this move requires four energy cards, two each of colorless and fire, and does 80 damage plus does 10 more damage for each damage counter on the defending Pokemon if you have a Plasma Energy card attached to Heatran EX.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, because Heatran EX is a basic Pokemon card you won't need to use any other cards with this card.  But remember, because this card is an EX card, if this card is knocked out, two prize cards are taken instead of one.  Because Heatran EX's fastest move requires three energy cards, I would suggest keeping this card on the bench until it has at least three energy cards on it.  When you move it to the active Pokemon spot you'll want to use Dynamite Press whenever you can.  I actually may not use this EX card in a deck because it is so slow and neither of its moves are anything too special.  So if I were to use this card in a deck, I definitely wouldn't use more than 1, but I probably wouldn't use even 1 in a fire type deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is a below average EX Pokemon card.  Surprisingly I don't like this EX card much at all, besides the artwork.  This card is not powerful enough in my opinion to merit an EX annotation.  So of the EX cards I've reviewed in the recent sets, this is definitely one of the worst ones out there.  It has too high of a retreat cost, too high of energy costs for its moves, and the moves just aren't that good.

White Kyurem EX -- Plasma Storm Pokemon Card Review

White Kyurem EX Plasma Storm Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of White Kyurem EX from the Plasma Storm Pokemon Card Set.  White Kyurem is a basic, EX, dragon type Pokemon card with an hp of 180. It has a x2 weakness to dragon type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a three colorless energy card retreat cost.  White Kyurem EX does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move it has is called Slash, this move requires three colorless energy cards and does 60 damage.  White Kyurem's second move is called White Inferno, this move requires four energy cards, two fire, one water, and one colorless, and does 100 damage plus 10 more damage for each damage counter on this Pokemon, so this move has a maximum attack power of 270 per turn.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, because White Kyurem EX is a basic Pokemon card you won't need to use any other cards with this card.  But remember, because this card is an EX card, if this card is knocked out, two prize cards are taken instead of one.  This is an EX Pokemon card that is quite similar to yesterday's Black Kyurem EX card, this card must be used in a dual type deck so you can use White Inferno, it has a high retreat cost, the same hp, and the same first move as yesterday's card.  Like yesterday, you'll want to set up White Kyurem EX on the bench, put four energy cards on it and move it to the active Pokemon spot as soon as possible.  Unlike Black Kyurem EX which must discard energy cards after attacking, I would use White Inferno every turn and the more you are attacked, the more White Inferno would do.  I would definitely include this in any deck that has water or fire energy cards in it because White Inferno is a great move.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an above average EX Pokemon card.  Even though quite similar to Black Kyurem EX from this set, this card is definitely better than the other EX card.  I like how this card can do 100 damage plus per turn and not only knock out most Pokemon in one turn and all Pokemon in two turns, but this card may also prevent the defending Pokemon from attacking White Kyurem because if it is does, White Inferno could knock out that Pokemon in one turn instead of two.  So like I mentioned in the strategy section of this post, make sure to use this EX card in any deck that has water and fire energy cards in it because this card should be unstoppable.

Black Kyurem EX -- Plasma Storm Pokemon Card Review

Black Kyurem EX Plasma Storm Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Black Kyurem EX from the Plasma Storm Pokemon Card Set.  Black Kyurem is a basic, EX, dragon type Pokemon card with an hp of 180. It has a x2 weakness to dragon type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a three colorless energy card retreat cost.  Black Kyurem EX does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move it has is called Slash, this move requires three colorless energy cards and does 60 damage.  Black Kyurem's second move is called Black Ballista, this move requires four energy cards, two water, one lightning, and one colorless, and does 200 damage, after attacking however you must discard three energy cards attached to Black Kyurem EX.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, because Black Kyurem EX is a basic Pokemon card you won't need to use any other cards with this card.  But remember, because this card is an EX card, if this card is knocked out, two prize cards are taken instead of one.  This is an EX Pokemon card with one of the most powerful attacks I have ever seen.  So to best utilize Black Ballista, you'll want to put this card in a dual type deck that includes lightning and water energy cards.  I would keep this Pokemon on the bench and attach as many energy cards to this Pokemon as possible, I would even consider attaching 7 energy cards to this card.  I would save this card until the end of the game, put it in the active Pokemon spot, and use Black Ballista as many times as you can in a row to one hit KO your opponent's Pokemon and hopefully win the game.  Other than that, Slash is an average move but only requires colorless energy cards so regardless of the energy cards you get in your hand you can attach them to Black Kyurem and use that move.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an average EX Pokemon card.  Even though this card can do 200 damage in one turn and knock out the defending Pokemon for sure, I am giving this card an average rating because after using Black Ballista one turn, it is more than likely going to be a few turns before you can use it again, and by that time Black Kyurem may get knocked out, or it may not be able to attack for a few turns because it doesn't have enough energy on it and it can't retreat.  However, if you're looking for that one Pokemon card that can knock out any Pokemon in the TCG in one turn, this is your card and definitely should be included in your deck.

Cobalion EX Full Art -- Plasma Storm Pokemon Card Review

Cobalion EX Full Art Plasma Storm Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Cobalion EX Full Art from the Plasma Storm Pokemon Card Set.  Cobalion is a basic, EX, metal type Pokemon card with an hp of 180. It has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to psychic type Pokemon, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Cobalion EX does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move it has is called Righteous Edge, this move requires one metal energy card and does 30 damage plus it discards a special energy card attached to the defending Pokemon if it has one.  Cobalion EX's second move is called Steel Bullet, this move requires three energy cards, two metal and one colorless, and does 100 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, because Cobalion EX is a basic Pokemon card you won't need to use any other cards with this card.  But remember, because this card is an EX card, if this card is knocked out, two prize cards are taken instead of one.  This is definitely an EX card you'll want to have in your metal type deck because it is a basic Pokemon card and you won't have to evolve it and the fact that it does 100 damage per turn, guaranteed.  So what you want to do with this card is move it to your bench, put three energy cards on it then move it into the active Pokemon spot and use Steel Bullet every single turn.  Even if you're forced to put Cobalion EX Full Art into the active Pokemon spot before it can use Steel Bullet, it should survive because it does have 180 hp and a move that you can at least use for a few turns in Righteous Edge.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an above average EX Pokemon card.  Like I mentioned earlier, this is a card you're going to want in any metal type deck you have, it should be unstoppable once it has three energy cards on it.  The reason I'm not giving this card a perfect rating is because even though Steel Bullet is awesome, Righteous edge isn't that great so I can't give a perfect rating to a card that doesn't have two perfect moves.  Another reason I'm downgrading this card a little is because it has a two colorless energy card retreat cost instead of one.  Regardless, this card is amazing and if you have this card in your collection you'll definitely want to use it in your deck.

Zapdos EX -- Plasma Storm Pokemon Card Review

Zapdos EX Plasma Storm Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Zapdos EX from the Plasma Storm Pokemon Card Set.  Zapdos is a basic, EX, lightning type Pokemon card with an hp of 170. It has a x2 weakness to lightning type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to fighting type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Zapdos EX does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move it has is called Agility, this move requires two energy cards, one each of lightning and colorless, and does 30 damage, plus if you get a heads when you flip a coin all effects of an attack by your opponent's Pokemon during their next turn on Zapdos is prevented.  Zapdos's second move is called Powervolt, this move requires four energy cards, two each of lightning and colorless, and does 80 damage plus 40 more damage if Zapdos EX has any Plasma Energy cards attached to it.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, because Zapdos EX is a basic Pokemon card you won't need to use any other cards with this card.  But remember, because this card is an EX card, if this card is knocked out, two prize cards are taken instead of one.  Right off the bat, whatever deck you have this card in you'll want to include 4 Plasma Energy cards in it so that Zapdos's Power Flame move will do 120 damage per turn.  If this strategy seems eerily similar to the Moltres EX review from this set that is because these two cards are quite similar, they are just different types of Pokemon.  So I would recommend keeping Zapdos on the bench, putting 4 energy cards on it, at least one Plasma energy, and then moving it into the active Pokemon spot after that and using Powervolt every turn.  Even if you put this Pokemon card in the active Pokemon spot to start the game, you can easily wait a turn before attacking and still survive quite awhile just using Agility, especially if you flip a few heads.  This card is definitely a must have card for a lightning type deck because it packs such a wallop and it is only a basic Pokemon card so you won't have to include this card with any others.  I would suggest pairing this card with Moltres EX and building a fire and lightning type deck, that way you would have two very powerful Pokemon cards in your deck that both do 120 damage per turn.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an above average EX Pokemon card.  It has a very solid hp, surprisingly low retreat cost, one decent move that will become pretty good with some luck, and one awesome move.  You really can't go wrong by using this card in your deck, because as soon as you get four energy cards on Zapdos, the game will be over because this move will one hit KO most Pokemon and all Pokemon in two turns.  This is definitely an EX card that you'll want to use in your deck and will definitely dominate.

Articuno EX Full Art -- Plasma Storm Pokemon Card Review

Articuno EX Full Art Plasma Storm Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Articuno EX Full Art from the Plasma Storm Pokemon Card Set.  Articuno is a basic, EX, water type Pokemon card with an hp of 170. It has a x2 weakness to metal type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to fighting type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Articuno EX does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move it has is called Blizzard, this move requires three energy cards, two colorless and one water, and does 60 damage, plus this move does 10 damage to each of your opponent's benched Pokemon.  Articuno EX's second move is called Frost Prison, this move requires four energy cards, two each of water and colorless, and does 80 damage, plus if this card has any Plasma Energy cards attached to it the defending Pokemon is paralyzed.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, because Articuno EX is a basic Pokemon card you won't need to use any other cards with this card.  But remember, because this card is an EX card, if this card is knocked out, two prize cards are taken instead of one.  Strategy-wise I wouldn't use more than one of these EX cards in a deck, I say this because Articuno's quickest move requires three energy cards, so this is a slow card to develop and actually play.  I would recommend keeping this card on your bench until you get three energy cards on it then moving it into the active Pokemon spot.  I would actually prefer using Blizzard every turn because it spreads damage to your opponent's benched Pokemon, because of this I would definitely include other Pokemon in the water type deck that spread damage so when you put Articuno EX into the active Pokemon spot later in the game most of your opponent's Pokemon have damage counters on them, so Articuno may be able to knock them out using Blizzard.  If many of the Pokemon in your deck require colorless energy, then I would put in 4 Plasma Energy cards and attach one to Articuno EX so that if you need to knock out a Pokemon by doing an 80 damage move to it you can use Frost Prison.  So, I would recommend using this card in almost any water type decks out there, but especially the ones that spread damage.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an above average EX Pokemon card.  This is definitely a card you'll want to have in your water type deck, I like its high hp, and both of its moves.  I especially like Blizzard's ability to damage your opponent's benched Pokemon.   One thing I would like to see from this card is that Frost Prison would do more damage, especially for four energy cards, but that is why I'm giving this card a 4 instead of a 5 because of this move only doing 80 damage.

Victini EX Full Art -- Plasma Storm Pokemon Card Review

Victini EX Full Art Pokemon Card Plasma Storm Set
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Victini EX Full Art from the Plasma Storm Pokemon Card Set.  Victini is a basic, EX, fire type Pokemon card with an hp of 110. It has a x2 weakness to water type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Victini EX does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move it has is called Turbo Energize, this move requires one fire energy card and allows you to search your deck for 2 energy cards and then attach them to your benched Pokemon in any way you like.  Victini EX's second move is called Intensifying Burn, this move requires three energy cards, two colorless and one fire, and does 50 damage plus 50 more damage if you are facing an EX Pokemon card.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, because Victini EX is a basic Pokemon card you won't need to use any other cards with this card.  But remember, because this card is an EX card, if this card is knocked out, two prize cards are taken instead of one.  Strategy-wise this is an EX card I would not use in one of my decks, but I will tell you my strategy if I were to use one of these cards in my deck, and I would only use 1 maximum in a fire type deck.  I would try and get Victini into the active Pokemon spot to start the game, then attach one energy card to it and use Turbo Energize to setup my benched Pokemon, because Victini EX has 110 hp, it should be able to endure your opponent's basic Pokemon's attacks for quite a few turns.  Once your benched Pokemon is set up, I would retreat Victini and put one of your benched Pokemon into play.  I wouldn't attach three energy cards to Victini because more than likely you won't be facing an EX card.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is a below average EX Pokemon card.  Surprisingly I don't like this EX card very much.  It has too low of hp for my liking and neither of its moves are very good at all.  Other than the card itself looking pretty cool, this wouldn't be a card I would spend a bunch of money on to include in one of my decks.

Moltres EX -- Plasma Storm Pokemon Card Review

Moltres EX Plasma Storm Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Moltres EX from the Plasma Storm Pokemon Card Set.  Moltres is a basic, EX, fire type Pokemon card with an hp of 170. It has a x2 weakness to water type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to fighting type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Moltres EX does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move it has is called Destructive Flame, this move requires two energy cards, one each of fire and colorless, and does 30 damage, plus if you get a heads when you flip a coin you may discard an energy card attached to the defending Pokemon.  Moltres's second move is called Power Flame, this move requires four energy cards, two each of fire and colorless, and does 80 damage plus 40 more damage if Moltres EX has any Plasma Energy cards attached to it.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, because Moltres EX is a basic Pokemon card you won't need to use any other cards with this card.  But remember, because this card is an EX card, if this card is knocked out, two prize cards are taken instead of one.  Right off the bat, whatever deck you have this card in you'll want to include 4 Plasma Energy cards in it so that Moltres's Power Flame move will do 120 damage per turn.  Even if you don't attach a Plasma Energy card to Moltres, the energy cards themselves still provide one colorless energy card so other Pokemon can use these cards too if their moves require colorless energy.  Personally, I would prefer to keep Moltres EX on the bench until it had four energy cards on it, two fire, one whatever, and one Plasma Energy, and then move it into the active Pokemon spot and use Power Flame every turn doing 120 damage.  Even if you want to move Moltres EX into the active Pokemon spot immediately, it should last quite awhile because you'll be able to use Destructive Flame for two energy cards and hopefully discard some of your opponent's energy so it can't attack, plus with 170 hp, Moltres will last quite awhile anyway.  Because Moltres EX requires four energy cards to attack and requires Plasma Energy at that, I would only include one of these cards in a fire type deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an above average EX Pokemon card.  It has a very solid hp, surprisingly low retreat cost, one okay move, and one awesome move.  You really can't go wrong by using this card in your deck, because as soon as you get four energy cards on Moltres, your opponent better watch out!

White Kyurem EX Full Art -- Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card Review

White Kyurem EX Full Art Pokemon Card Boundaries Crossed
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of White Kyurem EX Full Art from the Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card Set.  White Kyurem EX is a basic, EX, dragon type Pokemon card with an hp of 180. It has a x2 weakness to dragon type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a three colorless energy card retreat cost.  White Kyurem EX does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move it has is called Dragon Stream, this move requires three energy cards, two colorless and one fire, and does 60 damage, plus if you get a heads when you flip a coin you may attach an energy card from your discard pile to this Pokemon.  White Kyurem EX's second move is called Ice Burn, this move requires four energy cards, two fire, and one each of water and colorless, this move does 150 damage, however you must discard two fire energy cards attached to White Kyurem, but this move does burn the defending Pokemon.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since White Kyurem EX is a basic Pokemon with no evolutions, you only have to use this Pokemon in your deck if you want to use this card.  Just a reminder, since this card is an EX card, if this card is knocked out, your opponent will get to take two prize cards instead of one.  Like the White Kyurem card from this set, the EX version is pretty slow, so you'll want to keep this card on your bench and attach at least four energy cards to it.  Make sure to use this card in a water and fire type deck.  Definitely try and keep this card on the bench until it has at least three energy cards on it, that way when you move it into the active Pokemon spot you can start attacking right away by using Dragon Stream.  The more energy cards you get on this card the better, if you put 6+ energy cards on this card, you will be able to use Ice Burn two turns in a row without having to attach additional energy cards to White Kyurem EX.  So my strategy would be to get a ton of energy cards on White Kyurem EX, move it to the active Pokemon spot, use Ice Burn as many times as you can, then use Dragon Stream when you don't have enough energy to use Ice Burn.  Because White Kyurem EX uses so many energy cards, I would make sure to only have one of these cards in a deck and to have a good number of energy cards in your deck and a good way to get them into your hand quickly so you never run out.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an above average EX Pokemon card that I would include in any dual type deck out there that had fire and water type Pokemon.  The only things I don't like about this card is that it is slow, has a high retreat cost, and is an EX card.  Other than that, this card has a high hp, two powerful moves, and will definitely knock out Pokemon very quickly.  With that being said, I prefer Black Kyurem EX over White Kyurem EX in this set, even though they don't use the exact same types of energy cards.  You really can't  go wrong with using either of these EX cards in your deck.

Black Kyurem EX Full Art -- Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card Review

Black Kyurem EX Full Art Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Black Kyurem EX Full Art from the Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card Set.  Black Kyurem EX is a basic, EX, dragon type Pokemon card with an hp of 180. It has a x2 weakness to dragon type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a three colorless energy card retreat cost.  Black Kyurem EX does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move it has is called Dragon Fang, this move requires three energy cards, two colorless and one lightning, and does 60 damage, plus if you get a heads when you flip a coin the defending Pokemon is paralyzed.  Black Kyurem EX's second move is called Freeze Shock, this move requires four energy cards, two lightning, and one each of water and colorless, this move does 150 damage, however Kyurem can't attack the turn after it uses this move.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Black Kyurem EX is a basic Pokemon with no evolutions, you only have to use this Pokemon in your deck if you want to use this card.  Just a reminder, since this card is an EX card, if this card is knocked out, your opponent will get to take two prize cards instead of one.  Like the Black Kyurem card from this set, the EX version is pretty slow, so you'll want to keep this card on your bench and attach four energy cards to it.  Make sure to use this card in a lightning and water type deck.  I would avoid putting this card in the active Pokemon spot at all costs before it has at least three energy cards on it.  As soon as you get four energy cards on Black Kyurem EX Full Art, move it to the active Pokemon spot and start attacking.  You'll want to use Freeze Shock whenever you can unless 60 damage will knock out the depending Pokemon, that way you'll be able to attack consecutive turns.  So essentially this card can do 75 damage per turn using Freeze Shock or 60 damage per turn using Dragon Fang.  I would only include 1 Black Kyurem EX in a deck because it can do major damage in one turn, but because it can only do 150 max damage in two turns I wouldn't include more than 1 in a deck.  Just another note, unlike Lv. X cards where you leveled Pokemon up, EX cards can be used as basic Pokemon, so you do not need to put Black Kyurem in the game first and evolve it into Black Kyurem EX.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an above average EX Pokemon card that I would fit well in any dual type deck out there that had lightning and water type Pokemon.  The only things I don't like about this card is that it is slow, has a high retreat cost, and that it can only attack every two turns when using its most powerful move.  Other than that, this card has a high hp, two good moves, and will definitely knock out Pokemon very quickly with 150 damage.

Landorus EX Full Art -- Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card Review

Landorus EX Full Art Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Landorus EX from the Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card Set.  This is a basic, EX, fighting type Pokemon card with an hp of 180.  Landorus has a x2 weakness to water type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to lightning type Pokemon, and a three colorless energy card retreat cost.  Landorus EX does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  Its first move is called Hammerhead and for one fighting energy card this move does 30 damage plus 30 damage to one of your opponent's benched Pokemon.  Landorus' other move is called Land's Judgement, this move requires three energy cards, two fighting and one colorless, and does 80 damage plus 70 more damage if you discard all the fighting type energy cards on Landorus.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Landorus is a basic EX Pokemon with no evolutions, you only have to use this Pokemon in your deck if you want to use this card.  Before getting too far into the strategy, make sure to remember that if this card gets knocked out your opponent will get to take two prize cards instead of one.  With that being said, I would recommend using 1 Landorus EX Pokemon card in a dual type deck.  I would highly recommend using this card in a dual type deck instead of a single type deck, because the easier it is to attach non-fighting type energy cards to Landorus, the more likely it is you'll only have to discard two fighting energy cards from Landorus when using Land's Judgement instead of three.  I would recommend putting this card in the active Pokemon spot right away because it has a move that requires only 1 energy card and that move may be able to knock out several of your opponent's benched Pokemon by just using Hammerhead.  While using Hammerhead, keep attaching energy cards to Landorus so that you have two fighting energy cards and one other energy card on it so you can use Land's Judgement and do 80 damage, or if you have to knock out a Pokemon quicker than that you can discard both fighting energy cards and do 150 damage in one turn.  Definitely package this card into a spread damage type deck, thus making Hammerhead even more effective, I would also considering putting trainers in your deck to remove damage from Pokemon so you can have Landorus EX Full Art in the active Pokemon spot that much longer.  I would for sure make a deck around this EX card.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 5 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is a great EX Pokemon card from the Boundaries Crossed set.  You really can't go wrong by using this card, it has a high hp, and two great moves, one quick that does a good amount of damage to more than one Pokemon, and one slower move that does above average damage every turn or extraordinary damage if you choose to discard energy cards. So again, definitely include a Landorus EX Pokemon card in a deck that partially includes fighting type Pokemon.

Cresselia EX Full Art -- Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card Review

Cresselia EX Full Art Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Cresselia EX from the Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card Set.  This is a basic, EX, psychic type Pokemon card with an hp of 170.  Cresselia has a x2 weakness to psychic type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Cresselia EX's Ability is called Sparkling Particles and it says that between turns you may remove 10 damage from Cresselia EX.  Cresselia's only move is called Psychic Protection, this move requires four energy cards, one psychic and three colorless, and does 90 damage, and makes it so Cresselia EX Full Art does not have a weakness the next turn.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Cresselia is a basic EX Pokemon with no evolutions, you only have to use this Pokemon in your deck if you want to use this card.  Before getting too far into the strategy, make sure to remember that if this card gets knocked out your opponent will get to take two prize cards instead of one.  With that being said, I would recommend using 1 Cresselia EX Pokemon card in almost any type deck, because its only move requires 75% colorless energy cards it fits well into any type deck.  I would try and keep this card on your bench until you get four energy cards on it, then put it into the active Pokemon spot and use Psychic Protection every turn, you should be able to last quite awhile in the active Pokemon spot without getting knocked out and be able to knock out quite a few Pokemon before having to retreat.  Because this is an EX card and it is extremely slow to attack, I would make sure to only have the one in a deck, but hope to play it late in a game and win the game with this card.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an above average EX Pokemon card from the Boundaries Crossed set.  Even though this card only has one move, and a slow move at that, I'm still giving this card an above average rating.  I really like this card's high hp, and its Ability makes this card seem like it has a higher hp than 170.  I don't like that this card has only one move and it requires four energy cards, but with a high hp and a low retreat cost, you can easily move this card out of the active Pokemon spot if you're forced to move it into that spot when you don't want to.  All in all, this is an excellent Pokemon card that is capable of doing a ton of damage every turn, once you take the time to get four energy cards on it.

Keldeo EX Full Art -- Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card Review

Keldeo EX Full Art Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Keldeo EX from the Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card Set.  This is the third of three consecutive Keldeo Pokemon cards that I'll be reviewing from this set.  The previous two Keldeo cards I have reviewed were both basic Pokemon and both pretty good.  Today's card is an EX card so if you want to when building a deck you may include 4 Keldeo and 4 Keldeo EX, but you'll have to read in the strategy section of this review to see what I suggest.  So Keldeo EX Full Art is a basic, EX, water type Pokemon card with an hp of 170.  Keldeo has a x2 damage to grass type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Keldeo EX's Ability is called Rush In which says that once during your turn if you have Keldeo on your bench, you may move it into the active Pokemon spot without having to fork over energy cards by using the retreat cost of your active Pokemon.  Besides the Ability, Keldeo EX has one move called Secret Sword which requires three energy cards, all colorless, and does 50 damage plus 20 more damage for each water energy card attached to Keldeo EX.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Keldeo is a basic EX Pokemon with no evolutions, you only have to use this Pokemon in your deck if you want to use this card.  Because Keldeo's only move requires three energy cards, I would set up Keldeo EX on the bench, get three energy cards on it, then when your active Pokemon gets in trouble, use Keldeo's Ability and retreat your active Pokemon spot for free and put in Keldeo EX.  Once Keldeo EX is in the active Pokemon spot, use Secret Sword every turn, make sure to attach three water energy cards to Keldeo EX so that this move can do 110 damage per turn.  I would definitely recommend building a deck based around this EX card, I would include this card in a water deck, and possibly include two Keldeo EX and two regular Keldeo.  I wouldn't include 4 of each because EX cards can make you lose the game incredibly fast if they're knocked out, and all the Keldeo cards require a good amount of water energy cards to attack so you'll really need to load your deck with water energy cards if you want to use 8 total Keldeos.  But if you use 2 and 2, or less, I would still make sure to have mostly water type Pokemon and energy cards in your deck so you can make Keldeo's moves that much better.  The Pokemon I would pair with Keldeo EX, could be Pokemon that have higher retreat costs since Keldeo's Ability acts as a free retreat cost to your active Pokemon, but I would also make sure to have a few Pokemon that can attack with only an energy card or two so you can attack quickly while loading up your Keldeo cards.  So again, I would definitely recommend using Keldeo EX in a water type deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 5 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an excellent EX Pokemon card from the Boundaries Crossed set and a great way to end my three days of reviewing Keldeo cards from this set.  This card is even better than the first Keldeo card I reviewed from this set, and I gave that card a 5/5 so this card really is even better than that.  Just remember to tread carefully with this card since if it gets knocked out your opponent gets two prize cards, but hopefully it won't matter if you can dominate your opponent using Keldeo EX.  Overall, I would give all the Keldeo cards in this set a 5/5 rating.

Celebi EX -- Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card Review

Celebi EX Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Celebi EX from the Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card Set.  Celebi EX is a basic, EX, grass type Pokemon card, with an hp of 110.  It has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to water type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Because Celebi is an EX card, if your opponent knocks this card out they get to take two prize cards instead of one.  Celebi's Ability is called Time Recall and it says that any of your evolved Pokemon in play can use moves from their previous evolutions.  Besides the Ability, Celebi EX has only one move called Wind Whisk which requires three energy cards, two colorless and one grass, and does 60 damage.  However, after using the move, this card must be switched to your bench and another card is moved into the active Pokemon spot.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since this is a basic Pokemon card you won't have to include this card with any other evolutions.  Because Celebi EX only has one move that when used retreats you to the bench, I would keep Celebi on the bench until it had three energy cards on it, then when there is a good opportunity to do so, move Celebi into the active Pokemon spot and use Win Whisk one turn which afterwards Celebi will be on the bench, and that's where I would leave it until another one of your Pokemon is either knocked out or retreats.  I would use this card primarily for its Ability, because of its Ability, I would build a deck that includes a fair amount of stage 1 and stage 2 Pokemon cards that require a lot of energy cards to attack, that way, I could evolve into those Pokemon, put them into the active Pokemon spot and still be able to attack with one of their previous evolutions.  I could definitely see myself using 1 Celebi EX card in a grass type deck, but I would mostly use this card for its Ability, it isn't good enough to be used for an attacker because its move is average and if knocked out, it will hurt you twice as much as other non EX Pokemon cards.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is a pretty average basic Pokemon card, actually for an EX card it really isn't that great but overall it is average.  It has a decent hp, an average move, and a slightly above average Ability.  If you only need one more grass Pokemon card to put in your deck, this card wouldn't be tops on my list but it wouldn't be the worst card to put in either.

Terrakion EX -- Dragons Exalted Pokemon Card Review

Terrakion EX Dragons Exalted Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Terrakion EX from the Dragons Exalted Pokemon Card Set.  Terrakion EX is a basic, EX, fighting type Pokemon card, with an hp of 180.  It has a x2 weakness to grass type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a three colorless energy card retreat cost.  Terrakion EX does not have an Ability, but it does have two moves.  The first move is called Rock Tumble and for two energy cards, one each of fighting and colorless, this move does 50 damage.  Terrakion's second move is called Pump-up Smash and for three energy cards, two fighting and one colorless, this move does 90 damage and allows you to attach 2 energy cards from your hand to your benched Pokemon in any way you like.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since this is an EX Pokemon card you'll have to remember that if this card is knocked out your opponent will get to take two prize cards instead of one.  With that being said, I would recommend keeping Terrakion EX on the bench until you have three energy cards on it and then move it into the active Pokemon spot and use Pump-up Smash every turn.  I would make sure to include this card in a deck that includes many supporters that allows you to get many energy cards into your hand, that way when you use Pump-up Smash you can always attach energy cards to your benched Pokemon.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is a very good EX Pokemon card, it has an extremely high hp, and two good moves that do a good amount of damage.  I especially like how Pump-up Smash benefits your benched Pokemon and allows them to be ready to be moved to the active Pokemon spot that much quicker.  So if you're using a fighting type deck I would definitely recommend using this card in that deck.

Mew EX -- Dragons Exalted Pokemon Card Review

Mew EX Dragons Exalted Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Mew EX from the Dragons Exalted Pokemon Card Set.  Mew is a basic, EX, psychic type Pokemon card, with an hp of 120.  It has a x2 weakness to psychic type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Mew's Ability is called Versatile and says that Mew can use any attack of any Pokemon in play, you just have to match the energy card cost for that move.  Besides the Ability, Mew EX has one move called Replace which requires one psychic energy card and allows you to move any of the energy cards you have attached to any of your Pokemon in any way you like.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, Mew EX really reminds me of Ditto, it can use any move from any other Pokemon, but Mew EX is better than Ditto because in addition to using any move it likes, it can move energy from one of your Pokemon to another very quickly.  So strategy wise, since Mew EX is an EX Pokemon card, you'll have to remember that if this card gets knocked out your opponent will get to take two prize cards instead of one, but that shouldn't be a problem since Mew EX can retreat for only one energy card.  I would probably keep Mew EX on the bench, and move it into the active Pokemon spot to either use one of your Pokemon's great moves right away, or more than likely to use Replace for a turn, move many of your energy cards in play to one Pokemon and then retreat Mew EX the next turn and put in that Pokemon you just moved all the energy cards to, that way you can attack immediately with that Pokemon, regardless if it requires 4 or 5 energy cards and you didn't have any energy cards attached to it the previous turn.  I would include in a deck that has Mew EX, many Pokemon that have powerful attacks and require good amounts of energy cards to attack, that way you can do a ton of damage with the aid of Mew with any card in your deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  Even though this card can't explicitly do a stated amount of damage, I still am going to give this card an above average rating because it can greatly increase the power and quickness of your deck, and since Mew EX only has a one energy card retreat cost, there should be no reason why Mew EX can't help your deck since it can go into the active Pokemon spot and attack one turn and retreat the next very easily.

Ho-Oh EX -- Dragons Exalted Pokemon Card Review

Ho-Oh EX Dragons Exalted Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Ho-Oh EX from the Dragons Exalted Pokemon Card Set.  Ho-Oh is a basic, EX, fire type Pokemon card, that has an hp of 160.  It has a x2 weakness to water type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to fighting type Pokemon, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Because Ho-Oh is an EX Pokemon card, if this card is knocked out, your opponent will get to take two prize cards instead of one.  Ho-Oh's Ability is called Rebirth and says that once during your turn you may flip a coin (if this card is in your discard pile) and if you get a heads you may move this card to your bench and attach three energy cards to it that were also in your discard pile.  Besides the Ability, Ho-Oh only has one move called Rainbow Burn which does 20 damage plus do more damage for each different energy type attached to this card.  To use this move, you have to have three energy cards attached to Ho-Oh.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, you'll want to start with Ho-Oh EX on your bench and attach three energy cards to it, once you get three energy cards attached to it, move it into the active Pokemon spot and use Rainbow Burn, the more variety of energy cards you have on Ho-Oh the better.  Since Ho-Oh only has the one move you have no choice but to use the move over and over again, if possible you could attach as many different energy cards as possible to this card to make Rainbow Burn do a ton of damage.  In my opinion it is a bit risky to use Rebirth because if you bring Ho-Oh EX into play again and it gets knocked out again, that is four prize cards your opponent has taken just from knocking out Ho-Oh.  The time I would use Ho-Oh's Ability would be at the end of the game when I need to do 80 damage to knock a Pokemon out, I could get Ho-Oh on the bench and move it into the active Pokemon the next turn and do 80 damage with Rainbow Burn.  So if you're going to use Ho-Oh EX in your deck I highly recommend having 2 to 3 different energy types in your deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  To me, this is a very average EX Pokemon card, there is nothing really special about this card, except for the artwork which I think looks pretty cool.  Ho-Oh's Ability could help you in the end of the game but you're going to have to have too many energy types in your deck and you only have a 50 percent chance of being able to get Ho-Oh back into play anyways when you use its Ability.

Giratina EX -- Dragons Exalted Pokemon Card Review

Giratina EX Dragons Exalted Pokemon Card Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Giratina EX from the Dragons Exalted Pokemon Card Set.  This set has not been released in the United States but it will be released on August 15, 2012.  This is the second of two consecutive reviews I'll be doing of the new Dragon type EX cards.  When more Dragons Exalted scans are released I'll try and review those cards right away.   Giratina EX is a basic, EX, dragon type Pokemon card, with an hp of 180.  It has a x2 weakness to dragon type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a three colorless energy card retreat cost.  Giratina EX doesn't have an Ability but it does have two moves, the first move is called Shred and for three energy cards, one each of colorless, psychic, and grass, it does 90 damage.   Giratina EX's second move is called Dragon Pulse and for four energy cards, two colorless, one psychic, and one grass, it does 130 damage, but you have to discard the top 3 cards from your deck after using the move.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since this card requires both psychic and grass type energy cards you'll want to put this card into that type of a deck.  I personally would keep Giratina EX on the bench until it has three energy cards on it, then put it into the active Pokemon spot, I would use Shred over Dragon Pulse every turn unless the defending Pokemon will be knocked out by 130 damage, or the defending Pokemon has more than 180 hp on it, then I would use Dragon Pulse the first turn and Shred the second.  If you can somehow get four energy cards on Giratina EX quickly, I would recommend using Dragon Pulse more liberally, but by discarding 3 cards from your deck every turn, you give yourself another way to lose later in the game by running out of cards in your deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  Out of the three Dragons Exalted cards I've reviewed so far I actually like the non EX card the best, I am going to give this card a 4 out of 5 rating just like the Rayquaza EX card from yesterday.  This card can do major damage, but it is slow, has a high retreat cost, and makes you discard many cards from your deck very quickly.  But none of this really matters if you can knock out 4 or 5 Pokemon in a row, you're not going to have to worry about not having any cards in your deck, or having to retreat Giratina EX.

Rayquaza EX -- Dragons Exalted Pokemon Card Review

Rayquaza EX Dragons Exalted Pokemon Card Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Rayquaza EX from the Dragons Exalted Pokemon Card Set.  This set has not been released in the United States but it will be released on August 15, 2012.  This is the first of two consecutive reviews I'll be doing of the new Dragon type EX cards.  Rayquaza EX is a basic, EX, dragon type Pokemon card, with an hp of 170.  It has a x2 weakness to dragon type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Rayquaza EX doesn't have an Ability but it does have two moves, the first move is called Celestial Roar and for one colorless energy card you may discard the top 3 cards of your deck and attach any energy cards from those three cards to Rayquaza EX.  Rayquaza EX's second move is called Dragon Burst and for two energy cards, one each of fire and electric, it does 60 damage times the number of all basic electric or fire energy cards you choose to discard from Rayquaza EX.  Just know, whichever energy type you choose, you must discard all of that type of energy card from Rayquaza EX.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since you'll need a lot of energy cards with this card, I would recommend to put 25-30 energy cards in a deck with Rayquaza EX.  I would hope to get Rayquaza EX into the active Pokemon spot as soon as the game started and use Celestial Roar to find energy cards from your deck and then use Dragon Burst two turns in a row, the first time using fire energy cards, the second using electric energy cards.  Another way to use this card, besides getting it into the active Pokemon spot right away, is to put Rayquaza EX on your bench and over time add energy cards to it, so by close to the end of the game you have 6 energy cards on it, three each of fire and electric, you can then move Rayquaza EX into the active Pokemon spot, and if you have 2 or less Pokemon to knock out before you win the game, Rayquaza EX should guarantee that you win the game.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  I have a feeling this card is going to be very popular...however I'm not going to give it a 5 out of 5 rating because it is somewhat slow and you aren't guaranteed that you'll be able to do some damage every turn.  But if you have some patience this card can be dominant, and with a high hp, and low retreat cost, this card should withstand many of your opponent's attacks.
